Chapter 15

Autor: Alyssa J
In Finland, the winter was long, dark, and exceptionally cold.

Outside the window, the world was blanketed in thick snow, a pure white silence that made time feel frozen.

I was alone in my studio at school, surrounded by design sketches, fabric samples, and mannequins. I had just finished a round of revisions and was feeling tired.

I walked to the window, gazing out at the almost perpetual night. I exhaled a plume of white vapor that fogged a small patch of the cold glass.

I unconsciously traced meaningless lines in the mist with my finger.

On the table next to me were piles of drafts for my "Broken Wings" collection, all covered in revisions.

The mist on the window gradually disappeared, and I turned my gaze back to the topmost sketch on the desk—a butterfly with sharp lines, its form broken, as if its wings had been forcibly torn, struggling with a kind of painful beauty.

The charcoal pencil in my slender fingers spun around, and finally, as if making a decision, I added another,

Time flows. It was the end of the year in Paris, a city where starlight and interwoven lights shone with dazzling brilliance. My "Broken Wings" collection, as the grand finale, was taking the stage at the highest echelon of Paris Fashion Week. When the final gown drew thunderous applause, I stepped forward for my curtain call as the designer. I had become the most prominent rising star in the global fashion world that year. The backstage was a frenzy of celebration. Staff and models embraced, cheering.I had just stepped off the runway, my face still flushed with excitement.Alex pushed through the lively crowd and walked straight to me.He looked into my sparkling eyes and wore a gentle yet solemn smile. Then, before the watchful eyes and murmurs of everyone around him, he went down on one knee, pulling a deep blue velvet ring box from his pocket. He opened it to reveal a ring of a unique design. The band was artfully crafted into the shape of butterfly wings, and the central diamon

Helsinki's winter night. Heavy snow fell. The streets were blanketed in a thick layer of white, and the streetlights cast hazy, yellowish halos in the swirling snowflakes.Liam stood motionless across the street, like a statue gradually being covered in snow. His gaze pierced through the snow and glass, locking firmly on the familiar figure in my studio.I was bent over a large drafting table, focused on a design sketch. I was much thinner than he remembered, her profile line sharp and serene. My long hair was tied back loosely at the nape of her neck, a few stray strands falling againstmy cheek. When I occasionally looked up and spoke softly to the man beside mine, the delicate butterfly tattoo behind my ear flickered in the warm indoor light. That man was Alex.He leaned against the table, one hand casually propped on its surface, his body tilted slightly toward me. He was listening to mine, a faint smile on his lips.He would occasionally point to a spot on the drawing, and I would

A few months later the atmosphere in the Stormfang Pack estate was just suffocating. The fallout from Liam's scandal had been catastrophic. Then, to make matters worse, he had abandoned his duties as Alpha and disappeared, leaving the his Pack for a long time. His authority, his very standing within the Stormfang Pack, had evaporated overnight. In the chaos that followed, it was his father, David Blackwood, the former Alpha, who had stepped into the breach. Day after day, he had been the one holding the pack together, fighting tooth and nail to salvage his son's shattered reputation and maintain Blackwoods’ tenuous hold on the leadership of the Stormfang Pack.Liam stood soaking wet outside the heavy oak doors of his father's study. From within, came the sharp crash of a piece of porcelain shattering on the floor."You ungrateful son! A woman! A worthless bitch like Sylvia! Are you trying to completely destroy everything our family has built for generations?!"Liam's expression wa

Liam stood on the street in Helsinki. Tiny snowflakes landed on the shoulders of his black coat, instantly melting into dark, wet patches. The twelve-hour flight and sixteen hours without sleep made his temples throb with pain, but he paid it no mind. His gaze was locked on a familiar name on the large Fashion Week poster nearby. He had forcibly pushed aside all the mess back home: his father throwing a teacup at him, the Pack Elders' cold interrogations, Sylvia's tearful, pleading calls, and the knowing, disdainful glances of his competitors...He had tasted flavors he had never experienced in his thirty years. He quickly sold several private assets that weren't part of the Pack business, handed over Pack business to a well-paid Beta assistant, and booked the first flight to Helsinki. He had to come. He had to see me.But reality dealt a heavy blow."Sir, you need an invitation." A security guard in a uniform, tall and imposing, stepped in front of him, his tone formulaic and firm.Li

After a long silence, I spoke softly, my voice a murmur, as if speaking to myself or asking the quiet man behind me. "Do you know... why I chose butterflies for this collection? Especially... broken ones?"Alex put down the sketch he had been examining. His gaze slowly moved from the struggling butterfly on the paper to my profile, and finally, settled on the tattoo behind my ear—a butterfly with a fractured wing, permanently etched there. His eyes held no judgment, no pity, only a profound, focused gaze, as if trying to understand."Because," he said, just as softly, as if afraid of disturbing something, "a butterfly's life is full of pain and transformation. It must endure the darkness of its cocoon, the tearing pain of breaking free, to escape its shell. Only then can its wings become strong enough to fly."He paused, adding, "Even if those wings bear scars that can never be erased. Right?"My fingers, holding the charcoal pencil, trembled uncontrollably.Eight years of love, giv
