Chapter 33

The scene of what Isabella did to me kept crawling under my skin countless times. As much as I wanted to take revenge on her, I couldn't help but think about the child growing inside me. Because of that, there were many things I had to postpone, but that didn't mean it would end there.

"How is Percival doing?" Aaron asked me. I had decided on the baby's name while walking along the shore one day, and the news had spread quickly since the island was small and the community was closely knit.

"He's doing well," I replied, smiling at him. He had brought me sweet mangoes from their farm once again. "Thank you for the mangoes."

"All for you," he said, and I still couldn't quite get used to his constant attentiveness.

Tonight was the festival, and though I hadn't agreed to be his partner yet, I had decided to attend. They said there would be plenty of food to enjoy.
