I ran my hands through my hair before letting out a deep breath. My head was filled with so many thoughts.

I made a choice. And I wasn’t going to back down now.

I sat quietly, trying not to think, when the door opened.

“Alpha Andrew,” Mathilde said as she walked in with a doctor.

“Good evening, Alpha,” the doctor said. “The patient is stable. She can go home tonight. It was just stress. Nothing serious. Just make sure she gets rest.”

I gave a small nod and looked at Jessica. “That’s good.”

Just then, another nurse stepped in. “Miss Mathilde, someone’s asking for you outside.”

Mathilde turned to me. “Please watch over Jessica for now. I’ll be back soon.”

“Of course.”

Then, she left with the doctor eaving me alone with Jessica.

After a while, neither of us said anything. The room felt still until Jessica broke the silence above us.

“Are you okay?” she asked. When I turned to her, she was smiling.

Her voice pulled me out from my thoughts. I gave a short nod. “Yeah. I’m fine.”

I nodded.

EmmaI walked out of the building without looking back. People from the Medcare Pharma building were giving me the looks but I didn’t care. To hell with them and everyone in it! I got into my car and closed the door hard. It made a loud sound and turned on the engine. I wanted no time going home. After all, I already got what I came here for. It was up to Emma whether to do the right thing or not. What I wanted at this point was to go home and rest. With all the things that happened these past few days, I suddenly feel the exhaustion now.. But my plan to get home as soon as possible was put on hold because of an unexpected road fix. Really? It really happened today, of all days? I cursed and turned around. I had no choice but to take an alternate route. Although it was one that was twice as long as the road I needed to take. I had no choice, did I? The road in front of me was long and empty. It turned slowly between the trees. There were a few signs and fewer cars on the road. Y

EmmaHis jaw tightened as he slowly stood up holding his side with one hand. The proud look on his face was gone. He turned serious. He was clearly embarrassed. Well, good. That was what I was aiming for anyway. I want to shame him! I want to let him know that he no longer has a say in my life anymore. I am done being his emotional punching bag.I stayed quiet and he didn’t move. I was with him for so many years so I knew he was waiting for something. Maybe, a hesitation. Or fear. Or worse, regret. But he could wait until the end of the world and he would never get it. For those signs of weakness were no longer a part of me. I already took them out of my system. In short, I was no longer weak. “So you really mean it,” he said after a while. He blinked fast and I felt his surprise to what I did. I coudn’t blame him. This was the first time I hurt him with my own hands and threatened him like I really meant it. “Yes, I do,” I confirmed with my head held high. “You have no right to t

EmmaAndrew’s eyes landed on mine. For a while, the room went silent. We both didn’t move and remained staring at each other.Smirking, he walked inside and scanned around. He looked like an inspector with the way he was checking everything. The chairs, tables, bulletin boards, everything. He walked confidently like he had been in the place multiple times despite entering here for the first time. I took a deep breath and realized something. Five years had passed and Andrew was still the same. He was entitled, arrogant and insensitive. He still moved like the world owed him everything life has to offer. In his eyes, the world revolved around him. But not in my world. Not inside Medcare Pharma. I stood straighter and stepped in front of Jenna and her team. It was my way of telling them I would protect them from anything stupid Andrew might do. They were inside my territory, it was only proper I protect them. I tried to steady my nerves as I talked to Andrew. “You’re interrupting so

EmmaInside the Medcare Pharma’s conference room... It had been a while since we used this part of the building. Normally, it was reserved for VIP customers and important business prospects. Well, I was glad to have used this again since we had a very special potential client now. It was none other than Space Beauty representatives. The tall glass walls offered a clear view of the city. The long polished table stretched between us. Everyone was allowed to speak, even those who were below the organization ladder, as long as they attended. I preferred meetings like this. It felt comfortable, open, and honest. Even with contracts on the table and major decisions being made, there didn’t need to be tension. The world outside these walls was toxic enough. And while we maintain a professional setting here, we want our clients to feel like we are a big family more than business collaborators. And so far, this work ethic of Medcare Pharma works. Jenna sat across from me. She looked a bit

AndrewThe moment I stepped through the gates of Goldenville Pack, I stopped and stared. Everything was big, clean, and rich-looking. The roads were smooth with no cracks. The buildings were made of stone and looked strong and fancy, with banners hanging from them like in royal cities. Warriors were standing in every corner for maximum security. It didn’t feel like any pack I’d been to, to be honest. It was a pack straight from fairy tale itself. It was a definition of what every alpha in the land aspired their territories to achieve. It felt like a whole different world.Well, Goldenville was the seat of the Lycan Royals who ruled the Windcore Region since the beginning of time. No wonder everything was at its best. The oldest and noblest werewolf family deserved anything but less. Finally, me and my team reached the entrance of the central hall. Two warriors approached us. “State your name and purpose.”I fixed my stance and answered confidently. “Andrew Campbell. Alpha of the Da

EmmaThe tension of the morning had passed and with every mile we put between us and the Dark Desert Pack, I felt lighter.Ara was scrolling through her tablet again while I was busy with my own work. But I noticed something odd. I saw how Ara kept on stealing glances in my direction like she was observing my every move. Ara normally didn’t do this unless she wanted to ask something but couldn’t speak for some reason. Maybe she just wanted to check on me or ask how I was doing after I faced my ex-husband earlier. So I initiated the conversation for her. “What are you doing this weekend?” I asked casually. She blinked and I chuckled. It was obvious that she was caught off guard. Then she smiled a little. “Probably stay home and sleep all day, Miss Emma. Maybe cook if I feel like it.”“Hmmm…Nothing special to do? Or places to go to? It’s a long weekend, you know.”Ara put down her tablet and turned to me. “I didn’t plan any but if one of my friends invited me to go somewhere, I would b
