I was shocked.
He noticed my reaction and let out a sigh. "I think I should go to my car. We can meet right there and talk after the wedding."
After that, he walked away and got into his car.
"Luna"
The voice of my driver startled me. I realized I was still standing there. I noticed Fraser's car leaving the pack house area. I saw that the other cars were following Fraser's. They might have assumed I was also in the car because they had told us to go together.
I got into my car and leaned into the back seat.
There were six cars ahead of my car, and I fell behind.
My eyes welled up with tears. I turned my head to the window to look at the sky and murmured,
"I am sorry, Leo. I am doing this for your pack. I promise I will never let any man enter my heart. It would be just a deal for the sake of your family and your pack."
Hours had passed, and it was midnight.
I had no idea when I fell asleep while crying. So when the car hit something, my sleep was disrupted.
I looked at the road and noticed the other cars were far ahead of mine.
I looked at the driver and instructed him,
"We will fall behind. Speed up the car."
However, the driver ignored my instructions. Instead, he turned the car in the other direction, entering the forest.
I sat up quickly and asked, "Where are you going? Why are you driving into the forest?"
The driver accelerated the car, ignoring my questions.
I realized that the driver was working for one of our rivals. How could he cheat his own pack?
Suddenly, the car shook violently and came to a halt in the middle of the forest, emitting a loud screech.
"Why did you do that?" I asked, thinking that he had come to reality.
The driver turned to me with fear in his eyes.
"We are under attack."
"What!"
I was at a loss after hearing him. Attack?
"I apologize, Luna. He would have killed me if I had not obeyed him."
Saying this, he got out of the car and fled, leaving me in the middle of the forest.
Who would have killed him? Who was the driver talking about?
With shaky hands, I opened the car door to get out and tried to save my life from the conspiracy.
But as soon as I stepped out, I was shocked.
There were so many wolves gathered around my car. They appeared aggressive, showing me their sharp teeth as if they were ready to attack me at any moment.
I froze in terror.
Despite their distance, I knew that they would attack me and kill me if I took one more step.
Out of nowhere, I heard something crunching behind me.
My heart started to pound in fear.
Who was behind me? Who had not shifted yet to kill me?
Was I going to die tonight?
My heart skipped a beat when I felt someone standing behind me.
Before I could gather my confidence and turn around, a black cloth came into my vision.
Someone wrapped it around my eyes in an attempt to obstruct my vision.
The person was a man. I could sense his strong cologne. But I could not detect his scent, as if he had hidden it before approaching me.
His hands brushed against my cheeks as he blindfolded me, sending shivers down my spine.
Who was he?
He leaned down to my neck and placed his lips near my right ear.
I gasped in horror when I felt his breath on my neck. I had no idea what he wanted from me.
Then I heard his cold, deep Alpha voice, which chilled me to the bone.
"Your husband died a month ago, and now you are getting married to another man?"
I could not move, nor did I let out anything. The darkness in my eyes also kept me from moving.
When did I want to tie the knot? I was forced to do so. I wanted to tell him, but he spoke again.
"A dignified woman in your place would have carried the pack on her own shoulder. But it seems that no woman can survive without a man."
I did not agree with him. I wanted to speak out against it. But fear was preventing me from reacting. How could I forget the pack of wolves surrounding me?
The driver had told me that we had been attacked. So, did this mean this man had come to kill me?
Was I going to die now?
I wanted to embrace death and went to Leo. I did not want to live anymore, either.
The man's chilly voice interrupted my thoughts as he spoke with a tone of disgust.
"I thought to kill you and take over your pack. But it seems like with the Luna they have, this pack won't hold its power too long. So...."
He paused, letting out a breath that moved the tiny hairs around my ears. I felt shivers run down my spine.
After letting out a dark chuckle, he then finished his sentence.
"So I am letting you go. Go get married to another man. I will see how long you can keep your family and pack safe from your deadly enemies."
At the Collins CompanyDaniel was seated behind a large wooden desk. His look was menacing, and his frown was deep enough to let everyone in the room know how angry he was."And what can I do about it, Gamma Cloy?"His voice was deep and sharp, warning others not to mess with him at that moment. The four men who were standing near the desk lowered their heads. They were the four officials of the Scarlet Howl Pack.Gamma Cloy lifted his gaze when he heard Daniel. He tried to show some confidence as he said,"You have been the head Alpha of this pack for five years. You should know what has been our pack's top priority for the past two decades."Daniel's expression darkened as he looked at the young man who dared to speak. He chuckled and raised his hand to reach for his black tie.He loosened it while looking into Cloy's eyes. "Is that so? Now the gamma will teach me what my priorities should be?"Cloy immediately dropped his head. All of the confidence he had shown faded away by the i
Alpha Raymond and Luna Aida were shocked. Violet smiled at them sarcastically."I heard she has a boyfriend. Why are you forcing her to get another man? She has chosen her own path. Don't you think so?"Alpha Raymond's eyes widened. "Luna Violet, you are misunderstanding—"Violet rose from the chair and cut him off."I welcomed you in my pack, arranged the meeting, and thought that you were unbiased. But it seems you have already set your target on someone."She glanced at Evan, who was staring at Alpha Raymond while listening to her."Maybe he is also interested. So..." she paused, glancing at Luna Aida, and continued,"Congratulations to you both."Luna Aida shook her head. There was no way they could afford to offend Violet Easton. What Violet was saying was true, but they could not accept that in front of others.Alpha Raymond felt angry. In front of the dignified Alphas, Violet had damaged their reputation by disclosing about their daughter's boyfriend. They would never be intere
Alpha Evan shifted his gaze from Violet and turned his attention to Alpha Raymond. His sharp brows and clean, chiseled jawline moved a little. He raised his brows in response and then let out his calm voice."I have some other reasons to come here."Violet ignored the man's gaze on her from the beginning. But when Alpha Raymond spoke to him, she had to turn her head at Evan like other people. When her eyes locked with Evan's, his eyes lit up. He observed her face for a moment, then he said,"It's been a while, Luna Violet."Violet kept her gaze on him for a while. She examined his expression, trying to find hostilities in his eyes. However, they looked excited. She gave him a slight nod, neglecting his past actions."You are right, Alpha Evan. Welcome to the Crimson Howl Pack," she said with a delicate voice.Alpha Evan looked away from her and nodded his head in response. He was a young man in his late twenties. He was a prosperous pack leader and one of the best businessmen. He was
A shiny white car pulled up in front of the Crimson Howl Pack's five-star restaurant. The driver got out of the car and opened the back door. A pair of white heels stepped out of the car.The passerby turned their attention only to see a young lady in an elegant white dress emerge from the car. They could not recognize her as she was not active on social media. However, the aura she had made them understand that she was someone big.A few businessmen who had come to the restaurant recognized her with wide eyes. Only the Alphas of the pack and the well-known businessmen knew her identity since they had met her."Luna?""She is here!""Is there an important event taking place here?"Gossip spread throughout the air. The restaurant's owner had come tonight specifically to welcome their Luna, Violet Easton.Violet walked into the restaurant gracefully. Her gaze was fixed ahead, and she ignored the others who were staring at her.Women envied her beauty and power, while men were both amuse
Violet's brows arched when she heard Sam.Alpha Evan was one of her rival Alphas. He had previously blackmailed her several times when her family members wanted to stay there. Because of their safety, she had signed a deal of trade with his pack. After that deal, he never created any problems for anyone."Zion had told me about it a few days ago," Violet mumbled as she recalled her brother's words.Sam stood straight and nodded his head. His duty was to let her know about it.He bowed his head and left Violet's room. The other officials looked at Violet, waiting for her to speak."You can focus on the pack business. Tonight, I will try my best to grab the chance to get the deal. Maybe Alpha Raymond and Luna Aida will consider our proposal."Beta Vance glanced at the other officials, who nodded their heads. Violet noticed that they wanted to say something but were afraid to speak."Say it," she said, grabbing one of the files lying on the bed."Luna, we have heard that Alpha Raymond an
Daniel would have died if a single look had the power to kill. Anyone would have been shaken by the way the woman in front of him looked at him calmly and coldly. However, before her was the Alpha Daniel. He was a man of mystery. A man who possessed no noble blood, emotion, or heart, but only an evil soul.He believed the woman in front of him was quite amusing. He liked to play with her. Her coldness made him feel more interested in her.His hand slid into his pocket, and he took out a white handkerchief.Violet's expression changed when her gaze drew to it. It was her handkerchief that she wrapped around his wound last night. She recalled taking it off before bandaging his wound. Then, when did he take it with him?It did not look bloody like last night with his blood. Instead, it looked clean as if someone had washed the piece of cloth. Her gaze lingered on the letter "V" on the handkerchief. It was right on the edge of the border. If someone saw it, they would immediately find out
