Octava’s pov

I thought hard on what to do next as an idea came to me.

“What if we were to call this one-eyed person and ask for something… maybe ask him if he wants a ransom? That should work.”

He shrugged. “They haven’t asked yet which means they haven’t settled. We should wait for him to ask but this could be dangerous because he doesn’t want anything to do with us, the boy would be long gone before we even know where to start looking.”

I nodded. “So you think going after him is the best option we have?”

“Not just the best but the only option I can think of right now.”

I thought hard on his words before nodding. “Alright.”

His phone buzzed as he looked at it and smiled.

“What is it?” I asked as he looked up at me, his eyes brimming with a different kind of look I had not seen in a long time.

“My team found a lead and we’re going there now.”

He ignored the car and backed away as he turned and drove to the street while I packed our food aside so it would not scatter in the car.
