Louisa
I took advantage of the situation and walked out, it was already seeming like he didn't want me to eavesdrop on his phone call. Besides, my heart was beating so fast, he was already growing impatient and I wasn't certain of what action to take next. I needed my phone to at least know if I had close friends. On getting to the entrance into the Alpha's building, I bumped into someone who was about to walk in. A guard was carrying his luggage behind him. “Hello dear,” he said, holding my hands while staring into my eyes. I wasn't certain how to react; I didn't know who he was or his relationship with me. My heartbeat started beating faster than ever. He seemed important, and with any wrong word from me, I could get into trouble. “You should look where you are going next time, I'm only forgiving this because of how gorgeous you look,” he said, smiling. I chuckled, extracting my hand from his grip. His gaze remained on me for a while, tensing me up. I tried to move away but he blocked my path. “I didn't know the gorgeous was mute,” he said. “I'm not mute,” I replied, slightly shaking my head sideways. “Wow, what a sweet voice you have there. Well, I'm Jace, Alpha Scott’s younger and only brother…” That explained it all, we've never met before. Perhaps he hasn't been in town in years. I was about to respond when I felt the presence of Alpha Scott. I felt drawn to something closer, and that felt strange. I quickly turned as my eyes widened in shock. He walked towards us and threw his arms over his brother. “When I saw your call, I got scared that something was wrong.” Alpha Scott said while extracting himself from the hug. “Alpha George is dead and I'm here to …..” he threw his gaze at me, “..celebrate.” “I see you've met Louisa, My P.A.” Alpha Scott stated. I furrowed my eyebrows but I knew I had to play along. “P.A?” he repeated, then scoffed. “Alright,” he looked at me, “It was nice meeting you, Louisa.” He then moved in with Alpha Scott. I stepped outside, feeling the cool breeze all over me. It should feel relaxing but my heart was pounding. I had no means of finding his mother who might be dead anyway. I knew I had to get out of here and I had to be fast about it. My gaze drifted to the entrance gate, there were at least ten men stationed there. Hell no! I needed a good escape plan. I was still in thought when someone tapped me from behind, I quickly turned and my breath hitched, seeing Alpha Scott. He was already back here. “You must have heard enough fresh air,” he said. “Did you come with my phone?” I asked. He pulled his hands into his leather jacket and brought out a phone, handing it to me. “I will be going out for an important meeting, the moment I return, I expect answers from you.” he paused and grabbed my hands, glaring at me. “For your sake, I hope you are not just stalling,” “I'm not, ok,” I said, extracting myself from his grip. Without another word, he walked into his jeep and drove out. I took a deep breath and exhaled like it was over even when I knew it wasn't. I quickly put my phone into my trouser pocket and walked back inside. But on my way to my room, I saw Jace coming out of his. The moment he saw me, he began staring at me. It felt strange, he didn't look away and I wasn't comfortable. I focused my gaze ahead and continued moving. The moment I tried walking past him, he held my hands and dragged me back. “Louisa, I want to show you something,” Jace called. My heart skipped a beat, there was something shady about him I couldn't pinpoint. “Come on,” he added, dragging me into his room like I didn't have a say. My eyebrows furrowed but there was nothing I could do about it. The moment the door shut behind us, my body began shaking. “You said you wanted to show me something,” I reminded him. “Yeah, I did.” He said, moving towards a bag near the nightstand. He unzipped it and began searching for something. After a while, he turned back, holding a photograph in his hand. “I wanted to show you this,” he said, extending the picture to me. My fingers were trembling as I took it. I opened my mouth in shock the moment my gaze drifted to the photograph. It was a photo of me and Jace, looking intimate. “When I was introducing myself to you, I was only flirting with you seeing how shocked you looked. I mean, it's not every day you come back home to see the girl who ran away from you, living in your own house,” he scoffed and chuckled. “But then again,” he continued, “You can't break my heart and find out that I'm the Alpha’s brother and still react the way you did.” He paused and stared at me, “Unless something is wrong.” I took a step back, not knowing what to say. At least now I could understand the reason why he stared at me the way he did. Regardless, I couldn't still let anyone know I was without my memory. “I thought you've moved on and did not want to talk about it,” I said, breathing so fast. “Why won't I want to talk about it? When all you did was break up with me after saying your mission in Leatherhead Pack was soon to be over,” he said, folding his hands across his chest. In as much as I couldn't remember, I saw clearly in his eyes that he was hurt. But none of it was making sense to me; I was Alpha Scott’s rejected fated mate, and yet I was dating his younger brother without knowing who he was. “What were you even doing in the Leatherhead Pack since you are Alpha's Scott's brother?” I was trying to deviate a bit. “I had my own plans, in case my brother's plan failed but that's not the point.” He said, walking towards me. “So what's your point?” I asked, moving backwards. “You don't seem to remember.”Louisa/Agnes“What the hell are you still doing in there, Jace?” Scott's voice echoed from the other room.Jace hesitated by the bed, still staring down at my original body like it had whispered his name and he was feeling a connection. His fingers hovered above my cheek, trembling slightly before they finally made contact. His lips parted. “This feels so strange.”He lingered for a moment longer, then drew back like he’d touched fire. His expression cracked for just a second, but then he straightened and backed away, his jaw tightening. He left without another word.I remained frozen, my breath shallow as the incidents of my death started to fill my head. I remembered Kaleb’s hand in mine, the deceitful smile he wore as he pressed his forehead to mine, whispering the promise of eternity, then piercing a dagger through my heart.I remembered everything and now, I was certain that Alpha Kaleb was the same as Jace, reborn.I clenched my fists, invisible still. I would be a fool to forgi
Louisa/Agnes The air outside was still alive with chaos. Gunfire cracked like whip lashes, echoing through the war and the scent of ash and blood clung to the wind. I followed behind Kane as he moved, fast but cautious, his posture stiff like someone walking beside a ticking bomb. The moment we emerged from the shadows, a group of armed men turned their rifles toward me.Idiots.Before their fingers could squeeze the triggers, I raised my hand, my eyes burning hot. With a snap of my wrist, an invisible force yanked the guns from their hands. They screamed as the weapons flew through the air. From the corner of my eyes, I saw how surprised Kane seemed. One of them charged anyway. I didn't flinch, I flicked two fingers in his direction. His feet left the ground as if the earth had rejected him, and his body slammed into the hood of a car with a metallic bang, rolling off in a heap.Kane glanced back, eyes wide. “Those were my men!”“And yet they tried to kill me,” I said, flipping a st
Louisa/AgnesI hated this.Every nerve in my body screamed as I sat in the backseat, the door shut and locked like a prison. Gunfire raged outside, sharp cracks of rifles and the thunder of explosions shaking the very frame of the SUV. The air inside felt suffocating, like it was closing in around me. Each scream, each shout, felt like a dagger in my chest. I couldn’t just sit here. Not when I had my own mission. Not when I had power surging beneath my skin.My fingers wrapped around the handle, slick with sweat, and I yanked it hard. The door opened.I froze as my heart skipped a beat, seeing Kane standing before me. His tall frame blocked the light behind him, his eyes roamed me.I began to wonder if he already knew my real identity, if perhaps Celine or Priscilla told him something. He must be working for either of them for him to want to destroy Scott.“Well, well,” Kane murmured, a faint smirk playing on his lips. “Now what do I do with you?”That was when I realized that he wasn
ScottWe rode in silence. The rhythmic thrum of the tires and the occasional rumble of engines were the only sounds that accompanied us as we cut through the packside. Trees blurred past the windows, casting flickers of shadow and light across our convoy.Regardless, I couldn’t stop looking at the rearview mirror, not at the road, but at them. Louisa was tucked into Jace’s arms in the backseat of the lead SUV, her head resting quietly against his chest. His hand cradled her protectively, fingers brushing her arm with the kind of tenderness that made my insides twist. I clenched the wheel tighter, jaw locked. Every second she leaned into him was another second I hated myself for ever pushing her away. She should’ve been in my arms. It should’ve been me. But I said nothing. I endured. I had to.We drove for hours until the terrain began to change, trees thickening, the air growing cooler as we approached Leatherhead territory. I could smell the edge of their borders before I saw them.T
ScottMy fists still pulsed from the blow. My blood was hot, burning under my skin, my breathing a ragged rhythm in the tense air. Jace stood there, stunned and swaying slightly, one hand clutching his bruised jaw, his eyes filled with disbelief.I could feel the fury simmering behind my own eyes, but I forced it down. I turned my back on him for a moment, hands braced against the edge of the table as I tried to calm the thundering beat of my heart. “We don’t have time for this, Jace,” I said, my voice low but hard. “Thomas is dead.”That snapped him back to reality.“What?” he breathed.I turned to him slowly. “Yeah. Found him cold on the floor, no pulse. Someone killed him, my guess is a witch.”He straightened, his anger shoved to the side by shock. “How? Why would a witch want him dead? I thought he was friends with the witches or something.”I shook my head, jaw clenched. “We’ll worry about that after we get our mother back.”“But….”I stepped forward, cutting him off. “Not now,
Scott Hours later, Jace and I got back home to the alpha's lodge. My boots hit the marble floor with thunderous steps, my jaw clenched so tight it ached. Jace followed right behind me.The moment I opened the door to the sitting room, I stormed into Louisa, dressed up and about to leave.“Where are you going?” Jace asked, rushing to her. He almost pushed me when he was trying to walk past me in the front door. She froze. Slowly, her eyes widened briefly before they narrowed, guarded and unreadable.“I had a bad omen that something was wrong with Scott,” she said, voice calm but low.My heart leaped, realising she felt my pains just like I felt hers the other time.He stepped forward. “What do you mean by bad omen? How did you know?”That was a ridiculous question to ask though. I am her fated mate. There was a pause. Louisa glanced at me, “My wolf,” she said finally, with quiet reluctance. “She felt it.”Jace stiffened, brows shooting up in confusion, then turned to me, lips parting
