Scott
Louisa staying alive could ruin everything for me especially now that the council members of Leatherhead Pack are searching for her. If she gets caught, everything could be linked back to me and I couldn't let that happen. Regardless, I couldn't let her know that I had no intention of letting her live for a long time. Not now that I'm aware that my mother is still alive. “Fine, we will find my mother and you will get far away from the Silvermoon Pack! I don't want to ever see you here again.” “I promise, you will never hear from me. But don't you think you owe me an apology?” She asked, gazing at me. An apology! This is ridiculous. I would never apologise to her. It was already bad enough to be cursed to be fated to be with a wolf-less girl, now she wants to control me. Hell no! “That's never going to happen, so get over it!” I smirked. I must admit, there was something different about her; I couldn't pinpoint it, but I sensed it. ***** Five days later, I clenched my fist and began pacing around my room, feeling so agitated. All she has been doing is eating and sleeping! Of course, she thinks I'm a fool, and that's the reason she was stalling. I smashed my hands on my wooden table and splashed off the items on it to the floor. Damn it! “Calm down,” my wolf, Jean, whispered to me. “I can't!” I snarled. I gritted my teeth, trying to contain my anger but I couldn't. My gaze drifted to the floor, which was littered with the items from my table; I picked up my gun and slid it into my leather jacket. I needed to remind her that she wasn't supposed to feel too comfortable. But when I opened my door to storm out, I was astonished to see someone about to knock. “What the hell are you doing here? Mia” I asked. “You've not been picking up your calls,” she replied, trying to walk in. I held her back and pushed her out. “And that's what gave you the audacity to come unannounced?” I glared at her, “If one doesn't pick up your calls, it's simply because they don't want to.” Mia was one of my trials, a female beta that I was entangling myself with while waiting for when I would actually pick one to be my chosen mate and Luna. “I am sorry, Alpha.” she said, nonchalantly, “But I was thinking that Louisa should be dead by now. I mean, it's been five days now.” Oh, that's right! I did mention to her my plans to get rid of my fated mate alongside the enemies who butchered my family. “Go home, Mia,” I said, walking out on her. Mia was from the richest family in the Silvermoon Pack and with her father gone, she controls her family's empire. Of course, she is fierce and strong, a perfect candidate, but I wasn't ready to make a choice yet. I walked down the hallway to Louisa's room. When I reached her door, I didn’t bother knocking. I twisted the handle and pushed it open. I opened my mouth to speak, but my gaze drifted to her bathroom, which was slightly open and in that instance, the fury in me disappeared. Damn it! My eyes landed on her bare back, the curve of her spine, her wet hair draping over her shoulder. I should’ve looked away. I should’ve slammed the door shut and walked the hell out. But I didn’t. I let my gaze trace the shape of her body, taking in everything I shouldn’t be seeing. And I hated it, I hated the way my pulse quickened. This was the same issue I had with her, anytime I got too close, I tended to crave her. Gosh! I hated every part of it; she was wolf-less, and I deserved better. In that instance, I heard the sound of water shutting off. I moved quickly, stepping back out of the room as silently as I could. My heart hammered against my ribs as I closed the door just enough to keep me from getting caught. I couldn't let her know about my cravings, the last time was obviously a mistake! Leaning against the wall outside, I exhaled and ran a hand through my hair. I needed to focus, finding my mother was my priority. I waited for a while, giving her enough time to dress up, then I straightened my shoulders and knocked on the door. “Louisa,” I called out, “Open the damn door!” The door creaked open, and she stood there, fully dressed in a simple fitted blouse and dark leggings. Her damp hair cascaded over her shoulders, framing her face in a way that made my heart skip a beat. Her beauty was infuriatingly distracting but I pushed those thoughts aside. I stepped inside, letting the door shut behind me. “Alpha Scott,” she called out, looking me in the eye. That was strange, Louisa barely looked me in the eye. She always seemed scared of me but that also made her do anything I asked of her. “I think you've stalled enough, Where is my mother?” She ignored me for a while and walked back to her bedstand. “If you don't mind, I will be needing my phone,” she said, stretching her bedspread to look neater. “What does your phone have to do with this?” I asked, raising my voice. “There is a contact there, someone I want to reach.” After Louisa fell and I thought she had died, I took her phone from her body, switched it off and hid it, to avoid it being tracked to me. “The Leatherhead Pack has organised a council for your search, your disappearance after the death of Alpha George is alarming.” I reminded her. She took a deep breath and slowly walked towards me. The closer she got, the harder it became to ignore the pull between us. “I really need my phone, Alpha Scott,” she murmured. “That's the only lead I have.” Then, without another word, she moved towards the door. “And where are you going?” I asked, holding her back. “I need fresh air,” She was about to walk out on me, something she hadn't done before. I dragged her back and she stumbled. I was about to utter a word when my phone buzzed inside my leather jacket, I brought it out and glanced at the screen. My eyes widened in shock, the moment I saw who the caller was.Louisa/Agnes“What the hell are you still doing in there, Jace?” Scott's voice echoed from the other room.Jace hesitated by the bed, still staring down at my original body like it had whispered his name and he was feeling a connection. His fingers hovered above my cheek, trembling slightly before they finally made contact. His lips parted. “This feels so strange.”He lingered for a moment longer, then drew back like he’d touched fire. His expression cracked for just a second, but then he straightened and backed away, his jaw tightening. He left without another word.I remained frozen, my breath shallow as the incidents of my death started to fill my head. I remembered Kaleb’s hand in mine, the deceitful smile he wore as he pressed his forehead to mine, whispering the promise of eternity, then piercing a dagger through my heart.I remembered everything and now, I was certain that Alpha Kaleb was the same as Jace, reborn.I clenched my fists, invisible still. I would be a fool to forgi
Louisa/Agnes The air outside was still alive with chaos. Gunfire cracked like whip lashes, echoing through the war and the scent of ash and blood clung to the wind. I followed behind Kane as he moved, fast but cautious, his posture stiff like someone walking beside a ticking bomb. The moment we emerged from the shadows, a group of armed men turned their rifles toward me.Idiots.Before their fingers could squeeze the triggers, I raised my hand, my eyes burning hot. With a snap of my wrist, an invisible force yanked the guns from their hands. They screamed as the weapons flew through the air. From the corner of my eyes, I saw how surprised Kane seemed. One of them charged anyway. I didn't flinch, I flicked two fingers in his direction. His feet left the ground as if the earth had rejected him, and his body slammed into the hood of a car with a metallic bang, rolling off in a heap.Kane glanced back, eyes wide. “Those were my men!”“And yet they tried to kill me,” I said, flipping a st
Louisa/AgnesI hated this.Every nerve in my body screamed as I sat in the backseat, the door shut and locked like a prison. Gunfire raged outside, sharp cracks of rifles and the thunder of explosions shaking the very frame of the SUV. The air inside felt suffocating, like it was closing in around me. Each scream, each shout, felt like a dagger in my chest. I couldn’t just sit here. Not when I had my own mission. Not when I had power surging beneath my skin.My fingers wrapped around the handle, slick with sweat, and I yanked it hard. The door opened.I froze as my heart skipped a beat, seeing Kane standing before me. His tall frame blocked the light behind him, his eyes roamed me.I began to wonder if he already knew my real identity, if perhaps Celine or Priscilla told him something. He must be working for either of them for him to want to destroy Scott.“Well, well,” Kane murmured, a faint smirk playing on his lips. “Now what do I do with you?”That was when I realized that he wasn
ScottWe rode in silence. The rhythmic thrum of the tires and the occasional rumble of engines were the only sounds that accompanied us as we cut through the packside. Trees blurred past the windows, casting flickers of shadow and light across our convoy.Regardless, I couldn’t stop looking at the rearview mirror, not at the road, but at them. Louisa was tucked into Jace’s arms in the backseat of the lead SUV, her head resting quietly against his chest. His hand cradled her protectively, fingers brushing her arm with the kind of tenderness that made my insides twist. I clenched the wheel tighter, jaw locked. Every second she leaned into him was another second I hated myself for ever pushing her away. She should’ve been in my arms. It should’ve been me. But I said nothing. I endured. I had to.We drove for hours until the terrain began to change, trees thickening, the air growing cooler as we approached Leatherhead territory. I could smell the edge of their borders before I saw them.T
ScottMy fists still pulsed from the blow. My blood was hot, burning under my skin, my breathing a ragged rhythm in the tense air. Jace stood there, stunned and swaying slightly, one hand clutching his bruised jaw, his eyes filled with disbelief.I could feel the fury simmering behind my own eyes, but I forced it down. I turned my back on him for a moment, hands braced against the edge of the table as I tried to calm the thundering beat of my heart. “We don’t have time for this, Jace,” I said, my voice low but hard. “Thomas is dead.”That snapped him back to reality.“What?” he breathed.I turned to him slowly. “Yeah. Found him cold on the floor, no pulse. Someone killed him, my guess is a witch.”He straightened, his anger shoved to the side by shock. “How? Why would a witch want him dead? I thought he was friends with the witches or something.”I shook my head, jaw clenched. “We’ll worry about that after we get our mother back.”“But….”I stepped forward, cutting him off. “Not now,
Scott Hours later, Jace and I got back home to the alpha's lodge. My boots hit the marble floor with thunderous steps, my jaw clenched so tight it ached. Jace followed right behind me.The moment I opened the door to the sitting room, I stormed into Louisa, dressed up and about to leave.“Where are you going?” Jace asked, rushing to her. He almost pushed me when he was trying to walk past me in the front door. She froze. Slowly, her eyes widened briefly before they narrowed, guarded and unreadable.“I had a bad omen that something was wrong with Scott,” she said, voice calm but low.My heart leaped, realising she felt my pains just like I felt hers the other time.He stepped forward. “What do you mean by bad omen? How did you know?”That was a ridiculous question to ask though. I am her fated mate. There was a pause. Louisa glanced at me, “My wolf,” she said finally, with quiet reluctance. “She felt it.”Jace stiffened, brows shooting up in confusion, then turned to me, lips parting
