Chapter 1

It seemed that my mother was absolutely right.

Gordon Frost, a wealthy heir, had fallen for my charms. He ravished me again and again.

In the midst of our passion, he gifted me his unique cufflinks.

“Darling, you’re one of a kind. Bring these when you come and find me, and I will give you the best of everything in the world.”

I was not too excited about all that. At that moment, all I cared about was one thing.

Had the curse of my previous timeline been broken because I had managed to lose my virginity just before my twentieth birthday?

I rushed home and put on my skincare products.

The thing that was nearly making me break down was how the age spots around my mother’s eyes once again appeared on my face.

I thought back to the previous timeline, before I had come back in time. The more I used this skincare product, the darker my skin got. It got more blemished, and my face became more lined with wrinkles. Just recalling it sent a wave of hopelessness through me.

Even though I had gotten another chance, things had not changed despite the fact that I had gone against my mother.

When she saw me come home, my mother, Harriet Pendleton leaned against the door frame and asked coldly, “Where’d you go off to last night?”

Looking at her face, which had become just the slightest bit fairer, I clenched my teeth and put my skincare product on her face.

I wanted to see if the spots on my face would disappear.

I refused to believe that nothing had changed.

What disappointed me was that her face only became fairer, and the spots on mine became more distinct.

Harriet shrieked and shoved me away. “What did you put on my face, you wretch? I don’t just use any skincare product!”

She rushed to the mirror. In the reflection, I saw her pleased, smiling face.

I had left quickly and had not told Gordon that I was leaving. Thus, he had posted on his social media account, which had more than ten million followers.

[Looking for someone. You left this at my place last night. Contact me when you see this.]

The attached photo showed a woven bracelet and my work badge with my name. There was also a photo of me working at the bar, blurry and only catching the side of my face.

My father rushed over excitedly with his phone. “Emery, is this you? I know I’ve seen you wearing that bracelet.”

Sounding more excited than if he had won the lottery, he asked, “Did you sleep with him?”

“What?”

Harriet’s expression changed drastically. She grabbed me by the hair and shoved my face into the floor. That was not enough to defuse her anger, so she slapped me a couple of times.

“Didn’t I tell you to not touch a man before your twentieth birthday? You loose woman. Couldn’t you have waited just another night? How could you be so cheap? I’ll kill you!”

My dad, Warren Chase, did not side with Harriet for the first time in his life. Thus, he quickly pulled Harriet away. “Don’t hit her face. Don’t you know who Gordon Frost is? Maybe we can get a good deal out of marrying this useless wretch off.”

Seeing how scheming they both were, I could not help but remember what had happened in the previous timeline.

Harriet had always told me not to touch a man before my twentieth birthday, and I had listened to her.

But the moment my birthday came and went, I realized that something was horribly wrong.

Whenever I used my skincare products, spots and blemishes would show up on my face.

My smooth and fair skin became rough with wrinkles and lines.

Meanwhile, Harriet’s became brighter and flawless. Her face practically glowed.

I liked learning dance moves from videos of girl groups.

But the more I danced, the fatter I became. In the end, I ballooned up so much that every movement made me go out of breath.

Meanwhile, my mother became more slender. Her movements became more energetic and youthful. She seemed to have transformed.

Warren had always said that my best feature was my face.

Seeing that I had become ugly and fat, he kept calling me useless. He wanted to marry me off to some old bald guy as his second wife.

I had cried and begged for Harriet to save me, but she never even looked at me. She only happily looked into the mirror and said, “Well, they promised to give us a wedding gift of fifty thousand dollars. It’s an honor that you’re marrying into that family. Your dad’s only doing this for your own good.”

In despair, I had bought a bus ticket and ran away from home that very night. But the further I got, the quicker I aged.

By the time I reached the next city, my hair had turned white, and my body had shrunken in on itself. Every step I took made my joints scream in agony.

I could not find a job, and I had no one to rely on. In the end, my heart gave out, and I died by a heap of trash.

Since I had gone back in time, I was determined to use this opportunity. I would not let this life end like it had in the previous timeline.

Harriet’s appearance was only a small disruption in our wedding. It did not affect anything else. After everything was done, with netizens sending well wishes online, Gordon suddenly shut down the livestream. He picked up the microphone and spoke to the guests below the stage. “This is who I present to you today. As I said before, I’ve experienced her charms before. I can guarantee that she is as good as I say. She’s an experience, to say the least.“I’ve also had a diviner look at her fate. She is a born beauty who will bring luck to her husband. As such, the starting bid will be very high. We will start at one million dollars. The highest bidder can be the first to taste her charms.”I looked at Gordon in horror and stepped back.“What’s the meaning of this, Gordon? Isn’t this our wedding?”He looked at me as if I had just said something funny. “A wedding? Do you think someone like you could ever marry me? Wake up! You’re nothing but a product to me. The wedding was nothing b

I ignored him because Gordon had already sent a car for me. He said that he had found a way to resolve this issue. In my family’s hometown, which I had never been to, we found a diviner. The man was Mr. Cavill. He took the bangle and looked at it for a long time. Then, he sighed. “I know this bangle. It belonged to my master. Long ago, he delved into dark magic. “One day, a woman came in with a baby and asked for his help in divining her future. The woman said that she had given birth to a daughter, but her parents-in-law did not like her. She asked my master if this baby would be a lucky or unlucky addition to the family and whether she should keep the child.“My master divined her fate and put this cursed bangle on the baby. He said that the baby was fated to be a beauty and thus carried a certain energy with her. The bangle would ensure the baby’s survival until the age of twenty. From then on, that energy would fully belong to her.“If the child could maintain her purity

Harriet, Warren, and I all trudged back home. Once again, Harriet and Warren acted like they could not stand each other. Warren lay in bed all day and cursed at everything. He called Harriet an old hag and blamed her for his disability. Meanwhile, Harriet cursed at Warren for being useless. She blamed him for bringing me to the wedding that day. She would have been married to a rich man already if it were not for him. I was used to their constant bickering, so I closed the door and focused on my skincare routine.Strangely, every time I put on my products, the spots on Harriet’s face darkened, and more wrinkles appeared on her face. As for me, I did not become any younger. I still looked old and worn. Whenever Harriet saw me using skincare products, she would scream and rush over to snatch them.“Don’t use that, you little wretch! I forbid it!”She broke down and sobbed uncontrollably as she looked at her old and wrinkled face. That was not the end of it.I picked up

I had been wearing this bangle for as long as I could remember. When I was very young, I had asked Harriet why I had to wear it and what it was for. Back then, Harriet had said that the bangle had been blessed with holy water and would protect me throughout my life. She told me to never take it off, or I would bring misfortune upon myself.I took her words to heart and never removed it.As I grew older, I could not take it off at all. I had gotten so used to its existence that it felt like a part of me. When I mysteriously started aging prematurely, I wondered if Harriet had given me some kind of cursed object. I could not leave the house, so I always suspected that the object was at home. When Harriet and Warren were away, I searched through the whole house but found nothing. I never considered that it might be on my own person. It was not until I saw the diamond bracelet on Harriet’s wrist that I remembered my bangle. It was the only thing that Harriet had ever give

I darted behind a burly bodyguard and glared at Warren. “I don’t know what you’re talking about! I’ve just been standing here doing nothing.”Warren yelled, “Then, what’s that on her face? Don’t you think for a moment that I won’t know that’s what you look like! What kind of horrible disease do you have? You even infected your mother!”I looked at him in disbelief. “I don’t have any disease. Even if I did, how could I have infected her when she’s so far away? Besides, I came with you. How is it that you’re unaffected?”Harriet sprinted down the stage and snatched a mirror from one of the guests. She kept rubbing at her face roughly. When she realized that she could not rub the spots off, she broke down and smashed the mirror. She ran toward me and grabbed me by the collar. She shrieked, “You wretched beast, what did you do?!”I spread my hands and looked at her innocently. “I really didn’t do anything!”Gordon had obviously run out of patience. Onstage, he said darkly, “What

When I heard what she said, I felt afraid for some reason. In the previous timeline, after I ran away from home, the unnatural aging had accelerated, and I had died out there. Looking at myself in the mirror, I could not make sense of what was going on. If it were a trade or an exchange, it did not add up. Harriet was in her forties, so why did I look more than fifty years old?I hurried back to my room and locked the door. It was not the time to run away from home yet. But what shocked me even more was seeing Gordon post online that he had found the one meant for him and would soon host the wedding of the century.Netizens were all buzzing in excitement as they marveled at how quickly he had secured his love. But I had never even seen Gordon after that one night. Outside, I could hear Harriet talking sweetly with Warren. “I’m only going out with him for a bit to string him along. Do you really think Emery can hold his attention looking like that now? I’ll keep him in pl
