Chapter 3: Take Me With You

The atmosphere felt awkward after Poppy heard Evander's last words about his friends' betrayal. The snowstorm outside was still raging, showing no signs of stopping.

“Why won't this storm end?” Poppy began to mutter softly, impatient to wait for the snowstorm to stop raging.

Evander's body was shivering more and more. Poppy thought that Evander would be fine after receiving the warmth from her body, but she was completely wrong.

“I-it's possible t-t-t-that this sn-snowstorm w-won't stop...” Evander's voice was hoarse and trembling.

Even when Poppy looked up, she could see that Evander had closed his eyes, and his lips were now pale blue.

“This is bad! Your condition is getting worse, Evander!” Poppy moved only slightly, but Evander's embrace around her body immediately loosened.

Now, Evander didn't even respond to Poppy's words anymore. Seeing this, Poppy panicked even more. If Evander died here, she would fail to complete the System's Quest, and if she failed to complete the System's Quest, she would die a miserable death.

“This can't be! I've been given a second chance like this, I can't waste it!” Poppy shook her head in horror, her eyes determined as she raised her fists high.

Poppy placed one hand on Evander's shoulder, then slowly brought her face closer to Evander's.

“I hope you can forgive me for this. Believe me, I'm doing this to save you,” Poppy whispered softly, hoping that the unconscious Evander could hear her whisper.

Poppy used her other hand to pull Evander's jaw towards her. Poppy's soft, cherry-red lips gently brushed against Evander's pale lips.

With the increasing intensity of the skinship Poppy received, the percentage of Warmth Parameter she obtained would be even greater. That way, the warmth Evander received could be greater than before.

To be more effective, Poppy now sat on Evander's lap and even moved her hand from Evander's shoulder to the back of his neck, intending to deepen the kiss.

Slowly but surely, Poppy felt her body burning with the warmth she got from the increased Warmth Parameter. In fact, Poppy could now think that Evander was starting to return her passionate kiss.

Evander's sky-blue eyes, which had been closed, were now visibly trembling. Poppy could see it from the corner of her eye, and the corners of her lips lifted happily, intending to tease Evander even further.

Reluctantly, Poppy released her kiss from Evander's lips, which were starting to show color. A puff of steam escaped from Poppy's lips as she released her kiss from Evander. If it weren't for taken a breath, she wouldn't have let go of those lips.

Evander's eyelids began to open, and now they were looking at each other. Poppy raised her hand to gently caress Evander's cheek.

“I won't let you die in this snowstorm.” Poppy grinned slightly and looked at Evander with desire.

Evander just smiled faintly, letting Poppy do what she wanted. Seeing Evander's consent, Poppy quickly pushed Evander's body down, letting him lie on the ground of the cave.

Now Poppy was on top of Evander's body. Poppy's hands began to grope Evander's body and slowly removed each piece of clothing he was wearing.

Poppy's eyes sparkled when she saw Evander's charming body, with perfect abs and a broad chest. Poppy almost drooled when she saw this magnificent sight.

“You will be mine today, Evan,” Poppy murmured softly as she licked her lower lip sensually before finally lowering her body to kiss Evander's lips again.

Throughout the snowstorm, Poppy was busy doing everything she could to help Evander survive in the cold. And it seemed that Poppy was too enthusiastic when carrying out this ‘rescue’.

The rustling sound from outside the cave was too loud, disturbing Poppy's rest. Annoyed, Poppy woke up from her sleep, rubbing her eyes gently, gathering her still dazed mind.

Poppy felt her body feel strange, so she looked down to see what was happening. Poppy was shocked to find herself completely naked, without a single thread on her body.

“Aaarrggghhh!!!!” Poppy screamed loudly, reaching for anything she could find to cover her naked body.

Luckily, her hand found her shirt, and Poppy immediately used it to cover herself.

Poppy's loud scream woke Evander from his deep sleep. Like Poppy before, Evander couldn't comprehend what had happened to them last night.

“What's wrong? Why are you screaming like a madwoman?” Still with his eyes half closed, Evander asked Poppy.

"You're still asking what's wrong?! Look at the mess that has been made!" Poppy quickly kicked Evander's leg gently to wake him up.

Evander lazily opened his eyes. His expression changed drastically when he fully realized that his and Poppy's clothes were scattered around the cave.

Evander quickly checked his body, and sure enough, he was also naked like Poppy.

“Damn it! What did you do to me last night?!” Evander immediately cursed loudly and rushed to gather his clothes.

“I don't know! I just wanted to keep you warm last night because the snowstorm was too severe!” Poppy still looked dazed as she explained what happened based on the memories she could recall.

“You!” Evander glared at Poppy, but he refrained from scolding her.

Evander preferred to put his clothes back on, even throwing Poppy's clothes back to her and instructing her to get dressed immediately.

“Put your clothes on and come out to meet me when you're done.” Evander immediately walked out of the cave.

Poppy quickly put on her clothes while trying to remember what she had done to Evander last night. To be honest, Poppy's memory was very vague at the moment, so she thought she should ask the system to find out what had actually happened.

However, Poppy didn't have time to ask the system about this. So, after getting dressed, Poppy immediately ran out of the cave to see what was going on outside.

Poppy's eyes widened when she came out of the cave. The pine forest that Poppy had seen before was destroyed, with many pine trees fallen and covered in snow.

Last night's snowstorm was indeed very dangerous; even strong trees like these could fall in just one night.

“It turns out last night's snowstorm was worse than I thought.” Even Evander, a native of this world, looked shocked by the results of last night's snowstorm.

“I didn't expect it to be this bad,” replied Poppy, still stunned by the scene in front of her.

“So, where are you going now? As a token of my gratitude, I'll take you there,” said Evander, glancing at Poppy from the corner of his eye.

Poppy shook her head slowly, “I don't know where to go. Can I come with you?” Poppy looked up at Evander with an innocent gaze.
