Chapter 1

"Aurora, listen to me!"

Cain's deep voice came through the master bedroom door.

"I really only love you! If I didn't mean it, why would I mark you in public and complete our mate bond?"

The agonizing pain of silver burning my organs inch by inch from my past life still lingered in my bones.

I snapped my eyes open, gasping for air.

I was reborn.

Back to the night of our mating ceremony.

Today was supposed to be the happiest day of my life.

I looked down at the expensive, custom-made Luna dress covered in crushed diamonds.

Looking around the spacious pack house master bedroom, every piece of decor was handpicked by Cain just to please me.

How ironic.

Outside the door, Cain's fake affection continued, "Jasmine was just an accident! She is a pureblood Omega, and the pack needs her fertility. But Aurora, you are my only mate. My heart belongs only to you!"

My stomach churned. Inside me, my wolf slammed against my chest in grief and fury.

I dug my nails into my palms, using the pain to suppress the urge to shift and tear him to shreds.

Cain and I were in an arranged marriage set up by our families since childhood.

On the day we awakened as fated mates at the Werewolf Academy, he kissed me in front of the whole school, swearing to make me the happiest Luna in the world.

Later, during a rogue attack, I took a fatal blow to save him.

The silver poisoning almost killed me.

The pack doctor warned that until my wolf fully healed, it would be hard for me to conceive.

That night, he knelt by my hospital bed, his eyes red as he gripped my hand, swearing he would never leave me.

I believed him.

Day after day, I joyfully waited to be his Luna.

Until the marking ceremony ended, and a servant accidentally let it slip.

That was when I found out my fated mate already had pups with another she-wolf.

A four-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl.

His tears by my bed were real, but his sweat on his mistress's bed was real too.

His entire family conspired to hide this from me just to use my family's wealth.

The Iron Claw Pack was powerful, but in recent years, their main mines suffered heavy losses. Their cash flow was breaking.

They had to swallow their pride and seek cooperation with a werewolf family like mine, who did business with humans.

They wanted my family's money to get the mining rights for a new silver mine.

In my past life, finding out the truth completely broke me.

I hysterically smashed everything in the room, screaming the words to reject our mate bond.

Cain didn't comfort me outside the door. Instead, he used his Alpha aura to force me to the ground.

The Dowager Luna—Cain's mother—stormed in, furious.

She slapped me hard across the face.

"Shut up! If it weren't for your family's filthy money, a fallen family like yours—who threw away their werewolf pride to act like human lapdogs—would have been kicked out of the alliance long ago!"

They took away my phone and placed me under house arrest for a whole month.

By the time I got out, my family had been secretly destroyed by Cain. Everyone was dead.

The memory snapped to a halt.

This time, I won't make the same mistakes.

I can't beat him right now, but I can ruin him.

I took a deep breath, forced back my tears, and pulled the door open.

Cain had his hand raised, ready to knock again. His face still wore that fake look of pain.

"Aurora..." he said, about to step forward and hug me.

I raised my hand and stopped him.

Sure enough, his parents were standing just a few steps away in the hallway, watching me nervously.

I carefully controlled my facial expressions. With red eyes, I forced a bitter smile.

"Cain, stop," I said softly, my voice trembling slightly. "I was poisoned by silver, after all. The pack doctor said I can barely get pregnant. Pups... pups are the pack's future. They are your bloodline."

Cain froze.

His parents' eyes widened.

This was totally different from the storm they had expected.

"You... you don't blame me?" Cain looked at me in disbelief.

"How could I blame you?" I held his hand and even patted it gently. "Since the pups are already born, it's not good for them to stay outside. Bring them to the pack. I'll treat them as my own."

"Aurora, I knew you'd understand! I knew you were born to be my perfect mate!" Wild joy erupted in Cain's eyes as he pulled me into a tight hug.

His mother, the Dowager Luna, immediately let out a long sigh of relief.

The same bitch who slapped me in my past life now stepped forward and took my hand affectionately.

"Good girl. I know it's hard for you. Don't worry, that Jasmine is just a breeding tool. I promise you, I will always have your back!"

Leaning against Cain's chest, smelling his nauseating Alpha scent, my lips curled into a cold smirk.

"Thank you, Mother."

The next morning, Cain couldn't wait to move Jasmine and her pups into the main house.

In the hall, all the core pack members were present.

I sat straight in the Luna's seat, watching coldly as the doors opened.

Cain walked in glowing with pride, holding a boy's hand and carrying a little girl in his arms.

Behind them was Jasmine.

She wore an extremely flashy silk gown.

Pack law was absolute. A low-ranking Omega had to drop to her knees and bare her neck to the Luna in submission.

But in front of Cain's parents, Jasmine just tilted her chin at me with disdain.

"Luna, please forgive me. I'm not being rude, but the doctor said the noble bloodline in my womb can't take any risks."

In the end, Cain paid a massive compensation to the Silver Moon Pack. The mining rights to three mines, plus a ten-year resource supply agreement. After having his legs broken in public, Rex was exiled to the frozen wastelands of the far North. No pack protection, no medical treatment. For a seven-year-old pup, the only thing waiting for him was death. Jasmine swore to make a comeback. She tried desperately to get pregnant again to win back Cain's favor. But with my secret interference, her womb stayed empty for two whole years. Her body quickly broke down from grief and despair. Unable to bear the loneliness, she started having an affair with a rogue werewolf. I was prepared for this. Just when she thought she was doing it flawlessly, the filthy video was sent straight to Cain's phone. "That bitch!" Cain went crazy with rage, smashing his phone to pieces. "She betrayed my bloodline! She betrayed the pack!" That same night, Cain threw a trembling Jasmine right in front of

I gently set the glass on the desk and walked to his side. "Cain, you misunderstood." My voice was as soft as a feather. "I just didn't want to see Jasmine playing mind games with you again. Rather than letting her come back to fight for your favor, I thought I'd proactively arrange better candidates for you." Cain's stiff shoulders relaxed slightly. "Are you jealous?" He slowly turned around, a hint of smugness in his eyes. I looked down, pretending to be shy, and nodded. "How could I not care? Seeing you with another woman breaks my heart. But I'm more terrified that Jasmine might hurt Jasper." That sentence completely stroked Cain's vanity. He strode over and pulled me into his arms. "I knew you still loved me deeply." He whispered in my ear. "Aurora, you will always be my only Luna. My only true love." Suppressing my nausea, I offered him the glass. "Then promise me, don't ever let Jasmine come back to you." "Of course." Cain took the glass, staring at me affectionately.

I coldly pushed away Cain's hand as he reached to touch my cheek. "Don't touch me." Cain's hand froze mid-air, a hurt look flashing in his eyes. "Aurora, I know you're still mad, but—" "I'm going back to my family's estate to rest for the pregnancy." I cut him off, my voice leaving no room for negotiation. "What?" Cain's eyes widened. "No! You're carrying the Alpha King. You must stay here to receive the best protection and care." I sneered and struggled to sit up. "Protection? Cain, you almost killed me and our pup." "Aurora, that was all a misunderstanding—" "Misunderstanding?" My voice spiked. "You said it yourself that my pup was just weak trash! You said I didn't deserve to be compared to Jasmine! Was that a misunderstanding too?" Cain's face turned deathly pale. Just then, the door pushed open. Cain's parents rushed in, plastering flattering smiles on their faces. "Aurora, you're awake! How are you feeling?" Cain's mother sucked up to me, walking to the bed. "I've al

"What?" Jasmine held the dead baby, staring at the Seer in sheer disbelief. Seer Silas slowly raised his wooden staff carved with moon phases, the tip pointing straight at me in the pool of blood. "The Alpha King is here." Dead silence fell over the hall. Even the air seemed to freeze. "Impossible!" Jasmine screamed shrilly. "Seer, are you mistaken? She was poisoned by silver. Her bloodline is tainted! How could she be carrying the Alpha King?" Cain's parents quickly exchanged glances, silently doing the math. "The time of Aurora's pregnancy..." Cain's mother turned pale, "perfectly matches the time of the Seer's prophecy." Cain's attitude instantly did a complete 180. "You are... you are actually carrying the Alpha King?" Cain's face went dead pale. His earlier arrogance vanished completely. He finally remembered my desperate cries before the whipping, and my bloodline that he had treated like dirt. He was the first to rush forward, carefully lifting my blood-covered body.

"She gave birth! She gave birth!" the midwife's voice called from the delivery room. Everyone instantly surged toward the annex. Even the guard whipping me dropped his whip and rushed over. I lay in the pool of blood, feeling the fiery agony on my back. The hundred lashes weren't finished, but right now, nobody cared. The hall was instantly empty, leaving me all alone. The executioner guard had stopped to join the crowd. I struggled to push myself up. Blood dripped from my wounds onto the marble floor. "It's a girl! It's a girl!" Cain's furious roar came from the delivery room. "How could it be a girl? Wasn't it supposed to be the Alpha King?" Followed by Cain's mother's shrill questioning. I sneered. In my past life, Jasmine did indeed give birth to a daughter this time. And because she abused labor-inducing drugs, the pup was born sickly and frail. Right after, an even more horrific scream rang out: "Goddess! The baby... the baby isn't breathing!" It was the midwife.

  • I Could Never Blame You, Alpha   Chapter 4

"Aurora, don't make a fuss over a little scratch. Rex is just a pup. Bear with it for me, okay?" After the party, Cain only spared a moment to check on me in the master bedroom. He didn't even look at the bandage on my forehead. He just casually threw out a promise, "Don't worry, once Jasmine gives birth to the heir, I'll make the pup acknowledge you as its mother. You will still be the most honorable Luna." As soon as he finished speaking, a maid rushed over from outside, saying Jasmine's stomach was hurting. Cain's face changed instantly. He turned and dashed out without hesitation, not even leaving a word of comfort. And the moment he stepped out the door, he unilaterally cut off our mind link. Silently. He was afraid my jealousy would ruin his mood.Facing the empty room, I let out a cold laugh. Half a month later. My trusted pack doctor held the test results, his hands shaking uncontrollably. "Luna, you... you are pregnant!" The doctor lowered his voice, his eyes burnin
