Chapter 3

Author: Perfect Timing
The next day, Peggy turned on the camera after she saw the exact time.

I was sitting on my bed and waiting for my alarm to ring at 10 a.m.

When the alarm rang, I realized that I did not feel anything.

I immediately burst into tears.

I thought I had discovered the medium of transference, that I had to be in the hospital for it to happen.

However, five minutes later, I started to convulse with pain. It was as if someone was lighting my stomach on fire. It was excruciating.

I felt needles piercing through my skin, and my forehead was covered in sweat.

At this point, I did not even have the energy to scream.

Some time later, I could taste blood coming up my throat. I could not help but throw up.

Peggy placed her cell phone on a tripod and immediately helped me.

She stuffed some painkillers into my mouth, but they did not work!

Half an hour later, the pain finally subsided a little.

However, I could not really eat anything.

I kept experiencing acid reflux and felt extremely uncomfortable.

Just then, I received a news notification on my cell phone, so I clicked on it.

[A patient prepares to eat immediately after stomach surgery! This medical genius is saving the masses!]

The middle-aged man who had just undergone stomach surgery appeared energetic.

He even drank two bottles of hard liquor in front of the reporters.

His face was flushed as he laughed. “Doctor Dahlia is a real genius! She didn’t even administer anesthetics when she operated on me, and I’m fine!

“Some other hospitals told me that I had to go on a liquid diet for a few months. But Doctor Dahlia said that even if I get sick again, she’ll still be able to treat me! It’ll still be painless!

“She’s a great doctor!”

After I read the news, I felt a chill run down my spine and drowned in despair.

Why?

I was no longer at the hospital. How could she still transfer the pain to me?

Since I could not move at all, I asked Peggy to pass the video to a reporter.

The female reporter frowned as she looked at my pale face. “You’re saying that you suspect Dahlia of using a special technique to transfer pain to you? And she’s claiming to be a medical genius?” she asked through a video call.

I had chosen her specifically.

A few years ago, she had spent a few years going undercover to report on a child’s kidnapping.

To seek the truth and restore justice, she even ended up in the mental hospital.

She kept replaying the video of me suffering and finally nodded.

“I’d never tolerate anything that harms others to benefit oneself. However, it doesn’t mean that I’m automatically on your side.

“I’ll help you find out the truth, but I also suspect that you might be faking it.”

I was already happy enough that she was willing to help me.

In two weeks’ time, Dahlia would conduct brain surgery on the daughter of the wealthiest man in the city.

If I did not discover the truth by then, I would die again.

Tears rolled down my cheeks, and I started trembling from fear.

The reporter pitied me when she saw my reaction.

However, she did not say anything before ending the video call.

In the blink of an eye, it was the day before the brain surgery.

The reporter had believed me completely after a few days of investigating.

She had asked someone to bid for a slot to receive surgery from Dahlia. In the meantime, she had stayed in Peggy’s house with me.

As soon as the surgery began, I started to feel excruciating pain.

Her connection was getting stitches, and stitches randomly appeared on my arms.

However, we could not find any information on Dahlia that could help us resolve the problem.

Feeling pessimistic, I asked Peggy to take me out so that I could choose my grave plot the next day.

However, a hint of determination flashed across the female reporter’s eyes.

The next day, she went to the hospital with a camera to do a live stream.

“Doctor Dahlia, with your medical skills, you should do good to society. But you’ve limited your surgery slots. As a result, many people will lose a chance to receive treatment.”

Some doctors and patients were already unhappy in the hospital.

All patients went to Dahlia, so the other specialists had no business.

However, Dahlia’s slots were only available through bids, so only the rich could afford them.

Many were grumbling, but no one had stood up to her before.

Since the female reporter had gotten the ball rolling, the others began to express their desire for a boycott too.

“That’s right! This is a public hospital. You should help the public. How can you be so selfish?”

“The rich daughter’s life is a life, but isn’t my grandfather’s life important too? What’s the meaning of this?”

Dahlia was surrounded, and she glared at the female reporter.

However, there were so many people around her. The wealthiest man was also there, so she could not show her true colors.

She smiled nervously. “My mentor taught me this technique. I don’t know how to teach others—”

“You can record it. Let the doctors learn on their own!” The female reporter interrupted her with a smile.

Everyone was staring at Dahlia, so she had no choice. Even the wealthiest man said, “That’s right, Doctor Dahlia. You should bless everyone with your medical skills.”

As such, Dahlia nodded through gritted teeth.

Though the female reporter said she was only recording, she was actually livestreaming the process.

The hospital director and the wealthiest man were both shocked when they noticed that Dahlia did not even sanitize the surgical knife.

The steps she took next were even more shocking!

She directly sliced the patient’s head open!

I started to feel pain in my head as I stared intently at what she was doing.

When she lifted her surgical knife again, I finally discovered an area that I had been neglecting!

Finally, I knew how she had been transferring the pain!

“Transfer the pain? What are you talking about, Dahlia?“Isn’t it supposed to be painless? Why is there a transfer?”I slowly extracted the tube and stared intently at Dahlia, who had collapsed to the floor. “Who told you I could transfer pain?”“If you didn’t transfer it, how could you not feel it?”The crowd did not know what Dahlia was talking about, but I certainly did. I showed everyone the video of my brain surgery. One part of my brain had been removed. However, I was standing here in good health. Everyone was surprised. The hospital director immediately grabbed me and asked, “Is this a medical miracle? How are you not dead?”When he saw my face sink, he immediately rephrased it. “How are you still fine?” I pointed at the video and explained, “Because this part of the brain is extra! Of course I won’t die after its removal.“But why do I have an extra brain part?”I smiled and stared coldly at Dahlia. “We should ask Doctor Dahlia.” Humans could feel pain

“What?”“How’s that possible?”“Is she crazy? How would someone expose their poor academic results and buy bots to smear their own reputation?”I immediately created a group chat and added everyone to it. Then, I sent all the evidence that the private detective had shared. There were screenshots of the poster’s IP, academic history, and bot purchase history. With all these clues, it was obvious that Dahlia was the person behind her own smear campaign. The hospital director was extremely angry when he saw this. After all, it was bad for the hospital’s reputation to have such a doctor. The other hospital executives had told him that he was blinded. When he heard that Dahlia had a special technique, he disregarded her education just so that he could prove the others wrong. He did not expect Dahlia to be the one behind everything!“But why would she do that?”“That’s right. She’d lose her job and ruin the hospital’s reputation!” I smiled. “That’s right. It’s because she

“Charlene, don’t drag me into this just because you’re insane!” Dahlia’s face was flushed with anger as she roared. However, in the next second, the crowd started to speak before she could defend herself further. “What’s the meaning of this, Doctor Dahlia? Were you experimenting on us when you were treating us?” “Why can’t you operate on yourself? Is your life worth more than ours?” I knew my assumption was correct when I saw Dahlia’s nervous look. She could only transfer her patients’ pain, but she could not transfer her own pain. After her last treatment procedure, I should have died. So, she did not expect me to show up here. Someone even threw a bottle at Dahlia. Under immense pressure, she had no choice but to agree to the competition. After the crowd left, she walked toward me unhappily. “Charlene, we were colleagues in the past. You don’t have to do this to me!” I did not even spare her a glance before I left. She knew who had actually started all of th

When she saw me, she immediately became flustered. She sized me up and noticed that I looked extremely healthy. This shocked her even more. “Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be…”She probably thought that I was dead. No wonder she acted as if she had seen a ghost. I sneered and joked, “What’s wrong, Dahlia? I only resigned. I didn’t die!” The other patients heard what I said and immediately surrounded me. Their eyes were sparkling with hope. “Doctor Charlene, are you telling the truth?”“Can you also perform painless surgery?”“Of course!” I laughed.Dahlia immediately yelled, “Impossible! You wouldn’t know how to do it!” I sneered and questioned her, “Are you the only one capable of doing so?”She turned pale and could not utter a word. I carefully scrutinized her expression and cocked an eyebrow with amusement. “I watched your video and learned from it.” “Impossible! I didn’t know how to…” Dahlia almost told the truth after I triggered her. She stopped herse

It turned out that I had been close to the truth, but I just did not realize it! Before I fainted, I asked Peggy to send me to the largest hospital in the city. That way, their specialists could remove the parts of my brain that were not damaged yet. The doctors were shocked, but Peggy had brought along a disclaimer. They immediately operated on me after reading it and noticing that I was about to die. A few days later, I miraculously recovered. Dahlia’s reputation had reached new heights while I was in a coma. After all, everyone had come across the video of her operating. It was terrifying to watch, but everyone online kept spamming comments. [Oh, my god. I’m going to lose my mind as a final year medical student! I’ve learned so much, but I can’t tell how Dahlia did it.][This is hilarious. My professor is about to leave his profession because of this! Oh, and my professor’s one of the top doctors in the country!]Anyone with some medical knowledge could tell that Dah
