ANNIVERSARY GIFT

Ivy finally understood that Aby was framing her, she shook her head and said, "no Victor, I didn't do it, she fell on purpose."

After helping Aby up, Victor held Ivy by the neck with both his hands and tried to strangle her. "I will kill you first before you get a chance to hurt my child," he said.

Aby quickly asked him to stop, he then carried her up and wanted to take her to the hospital but she said, "no, Victor, I want to get Justice for my child first before going to the hospital."

Ivy was still struggling to breathe properly and didn't pay attention to what they were saying. The next thing she knew, Victor grabbed her and held her down, pinning her to the floor with his hands.

As Ivy tried to break free, she noticed Aby coming out of the room with a very hot iron, she struggled with all her might to break free but Victor wouldn't let her.

As Aby came close to her, she said, "Ivy, I'm going to burn your face with this iron so that whenever you look in the mirror, you will remember what you did today and never try to hurt anyone ever again."

When Aby brought the iron closer, Victor stopped her.

He said, "don't burn her face, it would be too troublesome and attract attention, burn her back instead."

After saying this, Victor turned Ivy immediately, revealing her back to Aby. Ivy pleaded her innocence and begged for Mercy but neither of them paid attention to her words.

Abigail ripped Ivy's dressed and placed the hot iron on her back. Ivy screamed and shook uncontrollably from the pain but Victor held her in place.

When Aby was satisfied, she turned the iron and saw Ivy's burnt flesh all over it. She smiled happily and told Victor, "let's go to the hospital now," and he obliged her.

As Ivy lay on the floor writhing in pain, she finally decided that she didn't want to live anymore. She crawled to the kitchen and took a knife intending to slit her wrist, however, she couldn't bring herself to do it. Finally, she gave up and crawled to her room.

Her phone started to ring. Ivy looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Abigail, she ignored it but Aby kept calling. She thought of going to the hospital but she didn't have any money since, after the incident where she was scammed, Victor made sure that no penny ever went her way.

As her phone wouldn't stop ringing, she decided to pick up. Aby laughed at her the moment she picked up and asked, "how did you like my anniversary gift, Ivy?"

"One day, you will pay for everything you've ever done to me," Ivy said.

Abigail laughed even harder and said, "since you like my gift so much, I've decided to give you another one. Victor and I will spend the night in the hospital so feel free to enjoy my gift alone."

After Aby hung up, Ivy became worried, her body was already weak and throbbing with pain, and she didn't have the strength to endure more torture.

She kept thinking of what to do when she heard someone knocking on the door. She wondered who it was since Victor and Aby were spending the night at the hospital. Ignoring the pain in her body, she slowly left her room and walked to the door. She stood by the door for a while, afraid to open it.

Suddenly she heard the dreadful voice of Patrick saying, "open the door, baby, let's continue from where we left off two years ago. I've missed you so much."

Ivy was completely frightened, she had not been able to forget that horrible night even though Patrick did not succeed in assaulting her. She couldn't bear to go through it again.

She kept thinking of what to do when she heard his voice again saying, "don't be shy, baby, Victor has given me the right to break down this door tonight so, our love is inevitable. Come on now, open the door, don't get me angry."

Ivy suddenly remembered that there was a secret back door from the store room, which Victor had shown her when she newly got married to him.

She hurried towards the back door and could still hear Patrick's voice calling out to her from the front door. She opened the back door and slowly made her way to the gate and out of the compound.

When the gateman saw her, he felt pity for her as he roughly knew what had been happening to her. He gave her some money and she thanked him before leaving.

Unfortunately, it started to rain but Ivy still walked under the rain. Since it wasn't so late, she could see some people on the road and they all looked at her strangely. Her dress was torn at the back and her burnt flesh was exposed to the rain.

Her body was in a lot of pain and she cried as she recalled all the suffering she had been through. She saw a young boy of about ten crying under the rain and she remembered when she ran away from home ten years ago.

Ignoring her pain, she walked up to him and asked, "why are you crying?"

"I am very hungry," he replied.

She gave him the money the gateman had given to her and told him to use it for food.

The boy thanked her a lot while she left him and continued on her way. She thought about her life once more, even if she was able to get herself treated, what would happen thereafter? Where would she go to? Who did she have?

In the end, she decided to end it all, life wasn't worth living so it was best to put an end to all her suffering.

She continued walking under the rain as she made her way to a cliff. She had passed by here a few times but she never knew that one day, she would end her life here.

She was already shivering from the cold and pain in her body. As she got to the edge of the cliff, she called out the names of her sinners; "Miles, Lucy, Patrick, Abigail, and Victor, one day you will all pay for the wickedness you showed to me. I never harmed any of you but you all pushed me to the brink of death. You will all pay."

When she finished speaking, she closed her eyes and lifted herself off the ground but at that very moment, someone held her hand and pulled her backward.

As Ivy stumbled backward, she fell to the ground, and the impact of her injured back hitting the ground caused her excruciating pain. Unable to bear it anymore, she closed her eyes and fell into unconsciousness
