“Madam Jenkin, congratulations! Your 38th in vitro fertilization is finally a success! Go call your family and tell them the good news!”

The doctor patted me on my shoulder happily, but I was frozen in stunned silence.

I had gone back to the past, and it was the day when I learned of my pregnancy.

My hands trembled as I reached out to cover my belly. The cold sweat on my forehead still remained.

As expected, I immediately heard my unborn baby’s thoughts.

“Mom, please don’t call Grandpa and Grandma! They favor boys over girls. If they learn that I’m a girl, they will definitely poison you until you have a miscarriage. I really want to live!”

I held my phone tightly, and I did not rush to make a decision.

In the past, on the day when I found out about my pregnancy, I had heard the baby’s whisper.

I just thought that it was a blessing from God, and I blindly trusted every single word that the baby said.

Worried that any leak of my pregnancy news would threaten my baby, I had obediently turned off my phone.

But I did not expect a fire to break out in my parents’ house that night. While they were dying, they put their only hope on me to seek help.

I had missed all 99 calls from them, which caused them to helplessly and painfully die in the flames.

Since then, I fell apart, and I spent my days crying. My husband, Liam Grant, who put his work aside and stayed by my side day and night, helped me recover.

Just when I was ready to start a new life again, I heard the baby’s whisper again.

The baby hinted that Liam treated me well only because he was guilty of having an affair, and his mistress was having a tryst with him in the company at that very moment.

I believed the baby. I stormed into the company and confronted Liam in a frenzy.

But I did not catch the imaginary mistress. Instead, I accidentally ruined Liam’s biggest business deal, which was worth hundreds of millions.

The company was going bankrupt, and Liam was so disappointed in me that he forced me to sign the divorce papers.

When I tried to keep Liam, the baby whispered again.

“Dad hates women who can’t let go. If Mom agrees to leave with nothing, there will surely be a day when Dad regrets it and begs her to go back!”

I chose to listen to the baby. I left with nothing.

But when I was homeless and destitute on the streets, the huge screen of the mall played the wedding video of Liam and another woman.

Liam expressed his regret when he faced the camera. He said our marriage ended only because I left too heartlessly.

I cried and wanted to go to Liam to explain the truth, but a truck running a red light crushed me into bits, and I died with my eyes wide open.

While I was dying, I faintly heard the baby’s sinister laugh.

Until that very moment, I still could not understand why my baby wanted to kill me, her biological mother!

Since I had been given a second chance, I had to stop all of this from happening.

I clenched my fists and tried to calm myself down, but my voice still trembled strongly when I spoke.

“Doctor, I would like to terminate this pregnancy.”
