VALTOR

I lied, I didn’t care about her request in the slightest. The truth was, I brought her back to my castle simply because I couldn’t stand the thought of her wandering the forest at night, vulnerable to whatever bastards might cross her path.

The moment we arrived, I ordered a maid to prepare a chamber so she could bathe and change into fresh clothes.

I waited in my study, my foot tapping restlessly against the floor. When movement stirred at the doorway, I turned at once.

But instead of Winter, it was Flora; the maid I fucked on my desk.

“My king…” She bowed, the neckline of her dress slipping lower, allowing the swell of her breasts to peek through. The movement was intentional. “I brought you your favorite wine to ease your weariness.”

“Set it there,”

She glided toward the desk. Instead of departing, I heard the faint trickle of liquid as she poured it into a glass.

“Just leave, Flora.” My tone sharpened.

Hurt flickered across her face, but she dared to take a step closer.
