Chapter 1

"Don't you dare to stop me!" Jade said to her maid.

She was leaving her room through the window, her father Shaw Halston, locked her in the room to take her to a business party in the evening.

"Lady Jade, please. Your father strictly instructed me to keep an eye on you." The maid said, walking towards her.

Tying the one end of the rope to the bed frame, she threw the rest out of the window. She then faced her maid whilst placing her hands on his waist.

"Good job. You are doing it. Your eyes are all on me." She fake-smiled at her maid.

"Then do not go." The maid said.

"Your work is to 'keep an eye', do your work and do not stop me." Jade picked her backpack and swung it over her shoulders. "Even if you do, you know the result." She then added.

"Looks like you watched many fairy tales to go out like that." The maid said just to stop her. Jade is not a person who love fairy tales or barbies. She would rather prefer bad boys or bikes.

"Oh please." She waved her hand in the air. "Tricks won't work on me." And twitched her lips into a smirk.

Holding the rope, she sat on the window frame. Looking down, she took a deep breath. Her room was on the second floor and the jump was going to be deep.

"You will hurt yourself!" The maid shouts at her.

"Nah. It's a good rope." Jade stretched it in assurance.

"Have a good time dealing with the father." She then waved at her maid and fell backwards through the window.

"That's not a rope, it's a water pipe which you took from the garden." The maid rushed to the window, placing her hands on the window frame, she  screamed down at her.

"I know, I am not in a fairy tale." Her voice fades away as she replies back to the maid, falling down the window.

Shaking her head, the maid placing her palm on her forehead. Her expression clearly shows; 'What should I do with her?'

While Jade was slipping down the pipe, her eyes were making to and fro moments from her hands to the ground. She wore thick leather gloves so as not to burn her hands during the process. The gloves made her fall smoothly yet dangerously fast. She needs to tighten her grip on the pipe to save herself from splashing to the ground. As she was some feet away from the ground, she looked at her hands and tightened her fists on the pipe. Folding her legs, she made a lock with them. Her pace slowed down then eventually stopped. Opening her eyes, she looked down at the ground.

'When did I close my eyes?' She thought.

She realized there was pretty good distance left. Slowly, untangled her legs, she was loosing and tightening her fist. Her legs were touching the bushes of the fence.

Couple of flies came out of the bushes and buzzed around her ears.

"Oh shit. I hate flies." She murmured and jumped out of the fence.

Her land was on the road with the hands on the ground to protect her from getting hurt. The moment she landed, a car abruptly halted behind her. Straightening her from, she dusted her hands and walked towards the car. She knocked on the car's window and waited for a response. The window rolled down, revealing a young man sitting on the driver's seat.

"You could have killed me." Jade said to him in a rather high voice.

"Excuse me?" He questioned her.

"You are not excused, pay for your deed." She said in a demanding manner.

With a perplexed expression, he questioned again. "Deeds?" His expression clearly says, did she actually say deeds?

"Yes, you were about to kill me." She specified it again.

"Are you insane?" He glared at her.

"I am in my good senses." She raised her palm in defense.  "No open up." She demanded.

He just looked at her in a confusing manner. When she didn't get any response from him, she lowered her hand inside the car through the window and unlocked the doors. She then slipped in the passenger's seat and shut the door.

He opened his mouth to say something, but before he could tell a word, she began.

"Now take me to street 11, pearl theater." She said, pointing her finger forward to the windshield.

Now he understood everything. It was just her way to take a free ride.

Tapping his fingers on the steering wheel, he gazed at her.

"What?" She threw her hands in the air.

"What exactly is happening here?" He questioned in a calm voice.

"Well, you tried to hit me by the car, unintentionally I must add. But fate has more years for me, so I am not dead yet. I am alive. And to repay, you will drop me to my destination." She gave a nod of satisfaction at the end.

"Ah...what a great narration." He fake clapped.

Shaking his head, he accelerated the car. He didn't mind dropping her. The destination she mentioned now was on his way. Instead of wasting more time in argument, he preferred to take her.

None of them spoke during the way. The theater she mentioned was fifteen minutes away. They reached within sometime. Halting the car in front of the gate, he turned to face her.

"You know, you cannot just randomly ask a random person for a lift."

"You want payment." She said more like a question.

"I am not a cab driver!" He raised his voice a little.

"Oh." She said and waited for him to explain what he meant then.

"Look. It's dangerous." He stated.

"Tch." She scoffed a laugh.

Folding her leg, she placed her foot on the seat. With one turn to the side, she twisted his hand with her right hand and her left hand was on his throat, choking him out.

He coughed and raised his eyes to look at her hovering form.

"I am good at self defense." She slowly began to loosen her grip and moved back.

Without having a seat, she flew open the door and came out of the car. Closing the door, she stooped inside through the window.

"Well then we part here." She said.

'Wasn't I talking to her?' He thought.

"If we meet again, which is possible as the world is small and round, I'll pay you back with a treat." She smiled, waved goodbye then turned around and walked.

Exhaling a breath, he shook his head in disbelief. 'How can someone be like this?' He thought. With a little smile twitching on his lips, he accelerated his car and drove out of there.

~~~~~~
"Who dropped you?" One of her friends asked.
"I don't know." Jade said.
"Huh!" The other girl said.
"Someone just dropped you by a car just now. How could you tell you don't know." The first friend stated, pointing her hand at the entrance where he dropped her.
"Emma, I don't know who that is." Jade specified holding her hand.
"Then what? Did some stranger drop you?" The second friend sarcastically.
"Exactly."  Jade snapped her finger at her.
"Lily. She lost her mind." Emma said to the second friend.
"How can you come with a stranger?!" Lily shook her. "Get a sense."
Jade wobbled her form intentionally on her shaking. "Weee...aarrree...geetttiingg
..lattee...forr...theee...moovieee." She wobbled her voice along with her body.
"Snap it out." Emma hit her hand and laughed.
Laughing, three of them went inside.
