CLARA’S POV

I exhaled softly as my driver pulled into the car park of Bennet’s Drive, Nate’s automotive manufacturing company.

All the inspections I’d done today had gone very smoothly, but I’d been anticipating this one with some excitement, mainly because it was my first step in getting revenge on Nate.

As the car came to a stop, my bodyguards alighted and opened the car door for me to step out. My personal assistant, Miss Lydia, fell in step beside me as we made our way down to the entrance. “Bennet’s Drive is the last company on our list today, ma’am,” she said. I nodded, already aware of that, and headed straight to reception.

The employees seemed to have anticipated my arrival because they fell into a seemingly rehearsed bow of respect as they greeted me.

Right after, the receptionist dialled a line on the phone, and I heard her whisper, “She’s here”. But I made no indication to show that I’d heard her.

It was routine to wait until I was led up to the CEO’s office. So, I waited.
