Given the opportunity to meet Devan, Alexa hurried to Devan’s company. The moment she stepped into the lobby of DEV Group, her eyes were immediately drawn to the large logo behind the receptionist’s desk.

‘You can do this, Alexa.’ She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.

Alexa truly had to be strong. Devan was known for being cold and ruthless; he did not hesitate to remove anyone he disliked. Alexa’s bold decision to request a meeting with him could easily be seen as an annoyance.

Even so, Alexa could not back down. She would face Devan, no matter the risk.

“Miss Alexa.”

Alexa shifted her gaze to a man standing in front of her.

“I’m Mike, Mr. Devan’s personal assistant.”

Seeing Mike extend his hand, Alexa slowly raised hers. As she returned the handshake, she introduced herself. “Alexa.”

Once their hands parted, Mike immediately gestured for Alexa to follow him inside.

Inside the elevator heading to the top floor, Alexa stood upright, her face calm, showing none of the fear she was currently feeling.

The elevator doors finally opened on the top floor. Mike walked ahead, with Alexa following behind.

When they reached a large door adorned with elegant carvings, Mike stopped and turned to Alexa.

“Mr. Devan is inside,” he said.

Alexa nodded softly. She knocked on the door before stepping inside.

As her feet touched the marble floor of the room, a cold aura immediately pierced her skin. When her gaze landed on the man sitting behind the desk, Alexa felt a powerful presence radiating from him.

His eyes were firm and deep, as if intimidating her.

“Mr. Devan.” Alexa’s voice trembled slightly. When her eyes met his gaze, her body suddenly froze, her feet unable to move.

Behind the desk.

Devan’s eyes were as sharp as an eagle’s as he looked at Alexa. He rose from his seat, pushing the chair back before stepping out from behind the desk.

“Miss Alexa, please have a seat.”

That deep, commanding voice pierced her ears. Alexa nodded and walked toward where Devan now stood, then took her seat.

When Alexa looked at Devan again, her body froze once more. His gaze was truly cold—just as people described—firm and intimidating.

Sitting upright as he looked at Alexa, Devan asked, “So, what is this profitable matter you mentioned?”

Alexa tried to remain calm, though she could not deny that her body was trembling.

“Mr. Devan, I know that you are pursuing a partnership with Mr. John. I have just gained Mr. John’s trust to arrange that cooperation. Are you interested in taking it over?”

Devan frowned deeply upon hearing her words. He leaned back, crossing one leg over the other, before speaking. “Aren’t you working for Ronan—my nephew, your fiancé? Why are you suddenly offering this cooperation to me?”

“Former,” Alexa corrected immediately. Her lips trembled as memories of Ronan and Felicya’s affair surfaced, but she forced herself to stay composed. “Ronan and I are no longer involved.”

Devan frowned again. “Is this some kind of trick?”

“No, Mr. Devan,” Alexa replied quickly. Lifting her chin slightly and straightening her posture, she tried to convince him. “Ronan and I truly have no relationship anymore. And if you are willing to accept this business cooperation that I have secured, I only ask for one thing, Sir. You wouldn’t pass this up, would you? A multi-billion-dollar contract already in my hands.”

Devan smiled faintly. “Miss Alexa, you seem very confident that I will accept your offer.”

Fixing his sharp gaze on her again, Devan continued, “And do you think you are in a position to ask for something in return? Partnerships like that are easy for me to obtain, Miss Alexa. Don’t underestimate me by assuming I would be interested in what you’re offering.”

After speaking, Devan stood up. While straightening the edge of his suit, he added, “You’d better have a stronger reason to change my mind.”

Alexa clenched the hem of her skirt tightly as she heard his words.

“If there is nothing else you wish to discuss, you may leave.”

Hearing Devan’s words and seeing him prepare to walk away, Alexa quickly stood up. With tear-filled eyes, she spoke, “I only want you to help me take revenge on Ronan. In return, I will become your assistant or spokesperson, ensuring that you secure major projects as repayment for your help.”

When Alexa saw Devan turn back toward her, her eyes glistened even more. Her vulnerable side surfaced, her gaze filled with sorrow as she spoke again, “Please, Sir. I only want to take revenge on him.”

He could no longer wait for the results of his hired men’s surveillance.“Yes, Sir. We are tailing her now.”Alexa had blocked him and kept avoiding him. Seeing the shock on Ronan’s face, Mr. John quickly said, “You’d better ask her directly. I’ll excuse myself.”Ronan was stunned. He hadn’t even spoken much with Mr. John, yet the man had already left him.“What’s going on, Ronan? Could it be that Alexa already got the project from Mr. John? But if that’s true, who did she give it to?” Felicya’s words provoked him.Ronan’s hands clenched into fists. His jaw tightened.“Damn it … don’t tell me Alexa really planned all of this. Not only ruining the engagement party, but also taking Mr. John’s multi-billion project.” Ronan growled.Seeing the hatred in Ronan’s eyes, Felicya smiled faintly. Her plan to remove Alexa from the Ivander family was becoming more and more achievable.“So what now? You lost a multi-billion project because of Alexa.” Felicya looked sympathetic, though in truth she was fueling Ronan’s hatred.“Just wait. Once I find her, I won’t stay silent.” Ronan’s gaze burned with anger.**That afternoonAlexa stared at the mess

Devan was focused on the documents on his desk when his phone, lying on the table, rang. His sharp eyes glanced at the name displayed on the screen before his hand reached for the phone.“Hello.” Devan’s voice was firm.“Have you fulfilled the requirement your father gave you? Remember, the longer you delay, the less chance you have to meet the condition your father set.”Hearing the words of his father’s lawyer from the other end of the call, Devan’s gaze shifted to Alexa.Devan did not respond immediately. He remained silent for a moment.“When is the deadline?” Devan spoke calmly, even though his chest churned.“One more month. If you can’t fulfill his will, then forget your desire.”Devan pinched the bridge of his nose.Is this the right time?“Alright, I’ll take care of it.”The call ended just as Alexa approached Devan’s desk.“I’ve rechecked this document. You can sign here now.” Alexa turned the open folder, facing it toward Devan so he could sign it immediately. However, Deva

When they arrived at the company.Alexa entered the office with Devan. As she approached her desk, her steps slowed. Her gaze fell on her desk. Everything on it had changed.“That .…” Alexa pointed at the desk while looking at Devan. “Why have all the things on my desk changed?”Mike immediately glanced at Devan. He swallowed nervously, his eyes practically saying, ‘You explain it, sir.’Meanwhile, Devan stood calmly.“I replaced them. Ronan came here and recognized your belongings. I didn’t want him to get suspicious.”Mike felt relieved that Devan explained. But he was still nervous about being blamed by Alexa for replacing everything without her permission.Alexa’s gaze returned to her desk after hearing Devan’s answer. Her hand slowly lowered. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at every item on the desk.“They’re all so cute. I really like them.” Alexa moved closer to her desk, examining each object carefully. She looked back and forth between Devan and Mike.“Who bought these things
