Chapter 30: Are you awake?

"I think I should head back before anyone notices I'm gone," I stated and got up.

"We'll walk you to the hotel, we should also head home," Dodge remarked and the others nodded in agreement. Pine bent down and started throwing sand onto the fire to put it out. Might as well let them accompany me.

"Why is your nickname Pine?" I asked James as we started walking off the beach.

"Dodge kind of met me while I was climbing up a pine tree to fetch my ball. The nickname just stuck." He shrugged.

"Is Dodge also a nickname?"

"I think so but he's never told us his real name. Even his folks and everyone at school call him Dodge."

"What about Cally?"

"What about me?" She asked after hearing her name.

"Jandal wanted to know why we call you Cally," Pine explained.

"Oh. My name is Cassandra, which was too difficult to pronounce when I was a young one so my parents called me Cally." She replied and
