Winny POV
I was taken to the Central Criminal Detention Centre, a few blocks away from the suite where I had gone to see Alpha Sean. Could he have done this, and what do they mean my father had debts, and even if he did, how could it be related to me getting arrested?
My heart pounded in my rib cage as the guards took me to a segregated office. They opened the door, pushed me in, and closed it behind me.
“You!” I hissed. “What is it now? Can’t you let me go?” As if having a dead father wasn’t enough, Mark had to get me arrested the same night?
“Darling,” he said and spun his chair. His back rested while his tie was nowhere to be found, as his first three buttons opened. I could see the little hairs on his chest, and something spurred me to gulp.
I hate the effects he still has on me. My wolf was furious, angry, and she could devour Mark right now.
“Well,” he continued as I managed to stay in a single position, gazing death at him. “I’m sorry about your father; he was a good man.” The sarcastic note in his voice is evident. “Too bad someone has to pay his debts now that he is gone.”
“And I am that someone?”
“Correct! I love how you put the pieces together. You see, Raymond took some Pack funds a long time ago and tried to start up a business as the Beta of the Pack. Well, he was terrible at being a businessman, just as he was terrible at being a father.”
I clenched my fists and sucked it in for a minute.
“So, his debts of five million dollars would—”
“Five million?” I half yelled and slammed my fists on his table. “How is that possible?”
“Relax, honey, I understand how you feel. Those debts have been transferred to you since you are his Next of kin.”
I laughed sarcastically and stood straight with a smirk. “I, Winny, you mean I am his next of Kin? What happened to Becky? Isn’t she the real next of kin?”
“Sadly, that exchange of identity hasn’t been documented, so you have to pay that money.”
I wouldn’t say my whole life came crashing in front of me, but there was no way I would ever be able to come up with five million dollars. If I worked hard for the rest of my life, I doubt I would be able to make a million dollars.
“Mark, I—”
Mark raised a finger to shut me up. “You know I love you, Winny, and I really hate that all these things are currently happening to you. You don’t have any choice now. You should think about the choice I gave you. I can help you pay both this and your hospital bills. I’ll take care of everything. All you need to do is say yes.”
I bit my lower lip.
“I can’t give you much time to think about this. You should know the right thing to do. Your life would be comfortable with me. I would give you everything you need, and things would go back to the way they used to be before.
I smirked. The way they used to be before? “I’d rather die than be your mistress, Mark. You can rot in hell with your money!”
“Stubborn as always. A few days and you would come back running once you taste how bitter the prisons are.”
My body trembled. Not only have I lost everything, but I have incurred bad luck into my life.
He rang the bell to call the guards to take me away. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. Nothing can hurt me anymore…
The guards came in, one grabbing my arm from each side. I didn’t want to go. I stiffened, but they dragged me still. Tears rolled down my face as I was being dragged towards the door. I closed my eyes again and hoped it would end.
The door opened, and a familiar scent filled the room. With my eyes closed, I wonder why I am thinking of him in this dreadful moment, like he had not dismissed me a couple of hours ago.
The guards stiffened, and then I didn’t feel their grips on me anymore. I opened my eyes and found Alpha Sean standing right in front of me, his gaze filled with tension as he glared at the guards. His gaze shifted to me, and something else clouded his eyes…worry.
“Are you hurt?” He asked. I shook my head.
“Alpha…” Mark rose from his seat. “She…she is a prisoner…”
“I’m taking her with me.” His voice was enough to shake everyone in the room. The guards quavered in fear, and Mark was speechless. None of them were as shocked as I was. I couldn’t take my gaze away from him.
He bent and swept my feet with his hands and carried me out. I didn’t dare look at him as I hung my arm around his neck tightly.
His aura screamed death, and even my wolf was terrified. But I felt safe in his arms, even if it meant a deeper hell.
We got to his car and he drove me down to his suite by himself. We went back to the room he had chased me out of, watching for the second time in one night as the guards bowed down to him.
Once in his room, he sighed heavily. “You said you had the power to satisfy me, yet you were helpless back there.” His voice was low with a bit of joy.
“How did you—”
“I am the Alpha of the Pack. I can locate you anytime I want. You have a charming scent I would always recognize.”
My cheeks burned, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that he was up to something. “Why did you save me and bring me back to your room?”
“I told you. I get what I want because I want it. And right now, you are all I want.” His eyes burned into mine as he stood inches before me. His breath once again fanned my face, making me hot.
“Or have you lost your special ability to create pleasure?” He came closer. He tossed my chin up with his finger.
My mind could not think of any other thing but getting pinned down by a hungry Alpha. I gulped again.
I closed my eyes, waiting for his lips…but they never came.
“Have a seat,” he said and walked down to his table to pour himself a liquor. My heart was pounding in my chest as I stood still, unable to move. Afraid the moist between my legs may run down like an open tap.
“I’ve got a deal for you.”
I sat down, trying not to look at him and just listen.
“I’ll cover all your debts. All of it, grant you immunity from the pack laws, and I’ll make you my territorial advisor. Does that sound great to you?”
“All of that?” I could sense arrogance in his words. “What could you possibly want from me? I have nothing left.”
He smirked and stared at my shoulder. “The only thing you can give.”
WINNYThe woods thickened and darkened as I ran through the forest. I didn’t change back to my wolf form, but I was sure I could do so very easily if I wanted to. My legs still remembered my paw marks when I first came here with Daniel. I had the wild speed of an angry walk as I tore through the woods, my kind racing faster than my feet. Alpha Sean. He needed me…the curse…why did I let myself slip away so much? Everything in me told me he was in grave danger, and I needed to get there as soon as I could. The note drove me crazy, faster than any technology in the world. When I reached the edge of the territory, my body became weak, my knees racing as I took huge breaths. I have taken a step back into the world where all my problems existed, where everyone wore smiles to hide their teeth. For a second, I thought about turning back to the White pack. What if he were with Lena and he didn’t need my help? What if it was a trap? Who brought me the letter? How did they know where I was? I
WINNYWhen Daniel stepped into the river and crossed alongside his Pack members, the water didn’t ripple the way it should have. Instead, it flowed around them as if they controlled it. It was majestic to watch and also unsettling at the same time.As they stepped out into the bank, they changed back into tall, broad-shouldered humans with the same hard expressions on their faces. They smelled like winter, weathered stones, ice, old rivers…they were everything I had never seen before, they felt…older. Although I had decided to follow him back to their Pack, I still wondered if it was the right thing to do. I didn’t tell anyone, not even Grace. They could be looking for me and…breathe, Winny, breathe.“Are you sure you want to go with us? You need to know what you want and make your mind clear about it,” he said. Daniel moved closer, his eyes softened as he walked around me. It was very dark, I could barely see them, but I knew they were all naked and I was the only woman amongst them
SEANThe moment Winny’s message lit up my phone, the air in Gabriel’s gambling club became suffocating. The smoke, the laughter, it all became meaningless noise. It irritated my ears, and I just wanted to get up and leave. Gabriel was speaking, but I couldn’t hear him even if I wanted to. The talk about having a traitor in the Pack should be very important right now, but nothing was more important than going to see Winny.Sean, I need to see you. Alone. Now. The message rang in my ear again, and I thought of a way to excuse myself. It’s weird because I barely get messages from her. She could have called or done something else. Anything but text. There was no doubt she was in some kind of danger. I stood abruptly, ignoring Gabriel’s raised brows and Zack’s casual smirk. Lucas’s eyes would have cut me into pieces if they were daggers. I knew he was curious and wanted to know what message I got on my phone that changed my whole mood.“Sean!” Gabriel yelled, and I blinked, looking at hi
Sean.“You should let her know where she stands,” Lucas said to me, staring at the cup of liquor in his hand as we sat by the bar counter. The party had ended, and Lena left with her father. It was hard watching Winny leave with such a puzzled expression and urge, but Lucas had stopped me from following her into the woods as she ran off.Lucas probably knew what I was thinking–to stand up and run after her.“She asked for privacy, let her have some,” he’d said and forced me into the bar where we both sat, dead worried about Winny. He hasn’t been drinking; he’s been glaring at me and doing the same with the glass in front of him while I’ve taken three shots.“Keep our business off your lips, Lucas.” I took another gulp and set the cup on the table. The weight in my chest bothered me so much, I cracked the cup on my hand before realising I was on the edge of breaking it.I set the cup gently on the table and gestured at the bartender to fill up my cup again for the fifth time.“I am war
Winny.I was clueless as to why they called me out, and more nervous than I have ever been in my life. All eyes pierced my skin like daggers, I almost stumbled and fell. Good thing I was smart enough to fix my gaze on the man standing on the podium as I approached. Pale skin, blond hair and a white suit.My wolf became unsettled and tried to break out. Heat crawled through my body. I became weak, sweating with each step I took. There is no way I could shift into my wolf form, not here, not now and absolutely impossible. There was no full moon. There was no moon at all.My toes curled and my claws threatened to spring out through my nails. My whole body hurt like hell as I tried to hold back the heavy force trying to shift me into my wolf form. Only a strong Alpha can shift anytime they want and I am far from being an Alpha, and I certainly don't want to shift. If anything goes wrong, all the people sitting and staring at me as I walk to the podium would do anything to tear me limb fr
Winny.Things always get messy when they start to look too good. The fuckening I could never escape. Coming to this event with Lucas was never part of my plans for the day at all. In fact, I hadn’t thought he would ever text me again since he said he wouldn’t bother me. But he had asked for help, and that I would be his plus one for the event.Apparently, his family has spies here, and they had planned to set him up with someone he doesn’t like, so he asked for my help. It took a while to think about it before accepting his offer and sneaking out of the house unnoticed. Earlier this morning, I got a letter from Lily, but I hadn’t gotten the tile to open it and read it, so I tossed it in my drawer and locked it. Back to Lucas, I met him at a local coffee shop.
