Winny.
I thought I didn’t hear him the first time till he repeated his words one at a time.
“I will pay for everything, and make you my territorial advisor. All you have to do is move into my estate and perform a monthly ceremonial act to keep the Pack together.”
A huge part of me was happy I could finally get myself away from Mark, but another part of me feels like Alpha Sean could be even worse than Mark.
No, anything is better than Mark and Becky.
“Why me?”
“You are desperately in need of my help. You shouldn’t have many choices. I figured you would agree to this. All you have to do is simple. I would have no restrictions on you, but you would have to sign a contract with me so you don’t use this against me in the future. What do you say?”
My wolf leapt for joy. Even though I wanted to say no, or say I would think about it. Something to show that I wasn’t desperate, but I’d be lying to myself, he can see how desperate I am.
“How long is this going to be?”
“Three months.”
“Deal. I won’t be doing anything else for you, right?” I said, hugging my body a little.
He looked at me seductively and walked towards me with a smirk. “What else do you want to do for me? Still want to give me pleasure every night like you desperately want?”
I looked away. He hadn’t done anything, yet, his words sent shivers down my spine.
“I’m just messing with you,” he said with another rich laugh. “You won’t have to do that for me.”
He went to the corner of the room to make a call while I tried to call Grace. That was when I realized I had left my phone in the house.
Mark! That bastard! The full moon is two nights away. Everyone would be out, and if this really isn’t a dream, I would be by Alpha Sean’s side. He won’t be able to hunt me down during the night hunts.
I remember my father used to take me to these hunts. He would teach me how to pounce and hunt other wolves, and how to howl and run through the woods and all four paws.
Now he’s dead, and all I have is a sickening video message to tell me I am a creature he knows nothing about, with absolutely no way to find my way back home. Apart from the mark under my shoulder.
“You look pale,” Alpha Sean brought me back from my thoughts. I tried to raise a smile, but I failed. Even though this is a good deal I am about to make, it doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t change the fact that Grace is the only person I have in the world. It doesn’t change the fact that my existence is a mystery I have to solve. Maybe I shouldn’t. Maybe I should just live with Alpha Sean and pretend to be a sane person.
“Winny!”
His voice was loud, like it wasn’t the first time he would be calling my name.
“I’m sorry. Yes?”
There was already someone else in the room. I could smell he was high-ranked.
“Here,” the blonde man with hazel eyes handed me a document. “Sign this.”
I didn’t read through. I didn’t want to. If the Alpha King plans to make my life more miserable, then he could as well just go ahead. I have nothing left to lose.
I signed it and gave it back to the man who handed the paper back to Alpha Sean. His eyes were on me, not the papers.
“Leave us,” he commanded the man, and he left. Once the door was shut, Alpha sat beside me. He was silent.
“Hold your tears back. You would have time to shed enough when we get to the estate.”
“We are leaving now? I have to take a stop and take some of my clothes and—”
“You won’t need anything. Everything you need is in my house. I know you would have someone you want to tell about your new job. You can do that tomorrow, but for tonight, you’re coming with me.”
I didn’t say anything else. We drove down to his estate, the largest part of the City, and in the heart of it stood his mansion. It was just as they say, the biggest building anyone could ever set their eyes on.
It was too dark for me to see the outer walls, but the inside was absolutely breathtaking, filled with different maids and guards.
He left me with one of the maids, who later showed me to “my room”.
It was big enough to cover the whole of Grace’s apartment. I plopped with a lazy yawn. It’s been a long night.
The next day, everything that had happened the night before started to dawn on me. Alpha Sean dismissing me, my father is dead, his video, Mark arresting me, and Alpha Sean coming back to my rescue.
A maid named Iris brought me new clothes and shoes. “Orders from Alpha Sean.” I checked the price tag on the beautiful green dress, and it was about two million dollars!
I dressed up and joined him in the dining area for breakfast. He had some notes in front of him with lots of papers. He was on a white shirt, half-folded sleeves, and a pair of glasses.
As the sunshine kissed his very being, I couldn’t help but admire how such beauty existed.
“Are you going to stand there and eat me up, or are you going to settle down while I give you a brief of why you’re here? Wine.”
“It’s Winny, Alpha.”
“Well, Wine it is.”
I chuckled and braced myself. I can’t wait to see the look on Mark’s face when he finds out.
WINNYThe woods thickened and darkened as I ran through the forest. I didn’t change back to my wolf form, but I was sure I could do so very easily if I wanted to. My legs still remembered my paw marks when I first came here with Daniel. I had the wild speed of an angry walk as I tore through the woods, my kind racing faster than my feet. Alpha Sean. He needed me…the curse…why did I let myself slip away so much? Everything in me told me he was in grave danger, and I needed to get there as soon as I could. The note drove me crazy, faster than any technology in the world. When I reached the edge of the territory, my body became weak, my knees racing as I took huge breaths. I have taken a step back into the world where all my problems existed, where everyone wore smiles to hide their teeth. For a second, I thought about turning back to the White pack. What if he were with Lena and he didn’t need my help? What if it was a trap? Who brought me the letter? How did they know where I was? I
WINNYWhen Daniel stepped into the river and crossed alongside his Pack members, the water didn’t ripple the way it should have. Instead, it flowed around them as if they controlled it. It was majestic to watch and also unsettling at the same time.As they stepped out into the bank, they changed back into tall, broad-shouldered humans with the same hard expressions on their faces. They smelled like winter, weathered stones, ice, old rivers…they were everything I had never seen before, they felt…older. Although I had decided to follow him back to their Pack, I still wondered if it was the right thing to do. I didn’t tell anyone, not even Grace. They could be looking for me and…breathe, Winny, breathe.“Are you sure you want to go with us? You need to know what you want and make your mind clear about it,” he said. Daniel moved closer, his eyes softened as he walked around me. It was very dark, I could barely see them, but I knew they were all naked and I was the only woman amongst them
SEANThe moment Winny’s message lit up my phone, the air in Gabriel’s gambling club became suffocating. The smoke, the laughter, it all became meaningless noise. It irritated my ears, and I just wanted to get up and leave. Gabriel was speaking, but I couldn’t hear him even if I wanted to. The talk about having a traitor in the Pack should be very important right now, but nothing was more important than going to see Winny.Sean, I need to see you. Alone. Now. The message rang in my ear again, and I thought of a way to excuse myself. It’s weird because I barely get messages from her. She could have called or done something else. Anything but text. There was no doubt she was in some kind of danger. I stood abruptly, ignoring Gabriel’s raised brows and Zack’s casual smirk. Lucas’s eyes would have cut me into pieces if they were daggers. I knew he was curious and wanted to know what message I got on my phone that changed my whole mood.“Sean!” Gabriel yelled, and I blinked, looking at hi
Sean.“You should let her know where she stands,” Lucas said to me, staring at the cup of liquor in his hand as we sat by the bar counter. The party had ended, and Lena left with her father. It was hard watching Winny leave with such a puzzled expression and urge, but Lucas had stopped me from following her into the woods as she ran off.Lucas probably knew what I was thinking–to stand up and run after her.“She asked for privacy, let her have some,” he’d said and forced me into the bar where we both sat, dead worried about Winny. He hasn’t been drinking; he’s been glaring at me and doing the same with the glass in front of him while I’ve taken three shots.“Keep our business off your lips, Lucas.” I took another gulp and set the cup on the table. The weight in my chest bothered me so much, I cracked the cup on my hand before realising I was on the edge of breaking it.I set the cup gently on the table and gestured at the bartender to fill up my cup again for the fifth time.“I am war
Winny.I was clueless as to why they called me out, and more nervous than I have ever been in my life. All eyes pierced my skin like daggers, I almost stumbled and fell. Good thing I was smart enough to fix my gaze on the man standing on the podium as I approached. Pale skin, blond hair and a white suit.My wolf became unsettled and tried to break out. Heat crawled through my body. I became weak, sweating with each step I took. There is no way I could shift into my wolf form, not here, not now and absolutely impossible. There was no full moon. There was no moon at all.My toes curled and my claws threatened to spring out through my nails. My whole body hurt like hell as I tried to hold back the heavy force trying to shift me into my wolf form. Only a strong Alpha can shift anytime they want and I am far from being an Alpha, and I certainly don't want to shift. If anything goes wrong, all the people sitting and staring at me as I walk to the podium would do anything to tear me limb fr
Winny.Things always get messy when they start to look too good. The fuckening I could never escape. Coming to this event with Lucas was never part of my plans for the day at all. In fact, I hadn’t thought he would ever text me again since he said he wouldn’t bother me. But he had asked for help, and that I would be his plus one for the event.Apparently, his family has spies here, and they had planned to set him up with someone he doesn’t like, so he asked for my help. It took a while to think about it before accepting his offer and sneaking out of the house unnoticed. Earlier this morning, I got a letter from Lily, but I hadn’t gotten the tile to open it and read it, so I tossed it in my drawer and locked it. Back to Lucas, I met him at a local coffee shop.
