I stared with wide eyes and a shaking body. There was a wolf in my bedroom. A big black wolf.
It was a terrifying sight that had me frozen. I couldn't move from my spot.
"What? Do you believe me now?" He asked, moving his hairy face closer to mine. I could feel its black eyes sternly fixed on me. "Why are you quiet?"
His face drew closer and I felt his warm breath on my skin as he inclined his head, his nose almost touching mine. Honestly, I felt like his gaze would bore into my soul as he said,
"Now you're scared to talk after seeing me? How comical?"
Yes, it was indeed comical. So comical that I could burst out in laughter if only my face hadn't stiffened and I wasn't so frozen up in fright.
"T-this... This can't be real." I managed to say, earning a disapproved growl from him. "How is this real?"
"There are so many wonders in this world that humans are unaware of." He said, moving back to sit on its butt like a real mutt. "And since humans are oblivious to these things, they just go around doing daily tasks without a doubt as to what could really be going on in their midst. You, of course, are one of those ignorant and oblivious humans."
"S-so, are you... Are you saying there are more species other than humans living amongst us? People like you that can transform into animals?"
He growled, upset at the term animal.
"Do not simply refer to me as an animal." He said, getting on all fours and releasing an intimidating and scary aura. "I am a superior species. I may not have my memories but without a doubt, this chain of command I feel, I know it too well. I am an Alpha. And I will not be likened to a mere animal by the likes of you."
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry." I quickly apologized. Who knew what would happen if I angered him any further? With that wide mouth of his, he could open up and rip my head off in an instant.
"But... How is it that you were so small like a cub last night? I mean, you were in my arms like..." I was stunned. He was so big and his body... My eyes fell on his fur. They looked so soft and wild. I wanted to touch it but at the same time, I didn't want to.
"I believe I shrunk in size so I could hide. I was injured too."
"But now you're all healed." I said, remembering I didn't see any wound in his human form.
"Yes, my healing abilities are subpar." He proudly stated and my eyes fell on his fur as he sat back on his butt again.
I gulped.
I didn't want him to think I was interested in his animal form or him for that matter. I didn't want that... Yet my hand was moving on its own and before I knew it, I felt his fur brush against my palm. It was as soft as it looked.
"What are you doing?" He asked, his gruff tone filled with annoyance and disapproval.
"Oh, I... I'm sorry." I took my hand off right away. "I just... Found it fascinating. It's so soft and... Ahem." I cleared my throat. "Anyway, what will you do now?" I asked. "Since you have no memories, I believe it'll be hard for you to just go out."
"Yes, and that is why I'm going to stay here." He said and I nodded in understanding, only to realize what he had said,
"Wait, what?!" I exclaimed, shocked. "You want to stay here?!"
"You're the one that picked me up," he said and slowly started transforming into his human form. Out of instinct, I looked away, not that it was really needed. I had already seen all of him anyway.
"B-but, I picked you up thinking you were an abandoned dog. I... I never would've picked you up if I knew you were a wolf who could transform into a human. I..."
I turned to him, only to find him standing right in front of me and his face very close to mine. It made my heart jump out of its position, and I stepped back, but I slipped on the rug and was about to fall when he wrapped his arms around my waist and stopped my fall.
"Whatever excuse you may have," he said and my heart thumped, staring at his serious and dangerously handsome face. "...the fact remains that you picked me up. And because of that, you have to take responsibility. Let me live with you, at least, till I regain my memory. And when I do, I will make sure to compensate you greatly. What do you think?”
As Micheal's whisper faded away, Noah's gaze drifted down to Micheal's face. His hands, still grasping Micheal's arm, pulled him closer, their bodies swaying together.Micheal's eyes, cloudy with desire and alcohol, locked onto Noah's, his lips parting slightly. He felt Noah's warm breath dance across his skin, sending shivers down his spine. It was like every other night, but it seemed like his senses and sensitivity were heightened a great deal thanks to the alcohol in his system. He probably wouldn't remember what he did the next day but he didn't care. He just wanted to get high in the moment.Without a word, Noah leaned in, his lips brushing against Micheal's. The kiss was soft, and gentle, as if Noah was trying to get a reaction out of Micheal.Micheal frowned. This soft and slow kiss was not what he signed up for. So, he freed his hand from Noah's grip, surprisingly, and pulled him deeper into the kiss. Their lips moved in a rough motion with Micheal taking the lead this time a
"Why... Are you doing this?" Noah asked. "It's because someone like me doesn't have any worth and shouldn't be alive." Micheal said sadly. "No one will care if I die anyway. I'm just a useless waste of space. So it'll be better for everyone if I speed up my death a bit,""But I care!" Noah declared, causing Micheal to pause. "And I need you. Waking up without my memories was..." He shut his eyes tight, cussing himself for trying to confess this, "...scary. Not knowing where I was, who I was, or what had happened to me made me feel so paranoid, but I believe I have been trained to keep such feelings under lock in my heart, so I never showed it. The fear I feel... It's so great that I worry that in this world where I am familiar with nothing and no one, the only person giving me shelter would also disappear, leaving me in the dark for those who are trying to kill me. As powerful as I may be... I have no confidence that I can win when I'm still trapped in oblivion. That is why I choose
Micheal sat Noah down and Noah, who obediently waited to hear what Micheal had to say, looked impossibly innocent.Even for a big man like him, thanks to the striking features of his face, he looked like he would never commit a crime in his life. But who knew just what he was up to when he was still with his pack."Hah!" Micheal sighed feeling depressed. "So, you have no idea what you did last night?" He asked him."When? Before I helped you take your bath or after?" Noah asked and that oblivion expression caused Micheal to feel even more depressed.Even if he did not get depressed after what had happened to him, Noah's oblivion was enough to drag him into depression."So, you have no idea what you did last night when you crawled into my bed in the middle of the night?" He flared at him, raging angrily. "You literally take advantage of me every damn time you close your eyes and..." He stopped talking, his heart pounding loudly for some reason. He clutched his chest and looked away.H
Micheal was still a bit confused. Was Noah worried about him or not?Well, based on his recent observation, he could just conclude that Noah was worried about the life of his benefactor and the one sheltering him.Since he did not have his memories, he could not go anywhere all by himself and people were chasing him too.So, he needed Micheal. And for that reason, he wouldn't let anything happen to him.'But I don't get how that has anything to do with me crying over my broken heart?' Micheal thought, sticking the sharp end of the pizza slice in his mouth while keeping his eyes on Noah. 'It's not like crying will kill me. If he saw me crying, he could just ignore it and act like he didn't see anything. So, why did he wake me up?'Noah, on the other hand, was also wondering the same thing. As much as he tried to put reason to his action, why he woke Micheal up just after seeing him act so pitiful in his sleep, he could not get it quite right.'I can't allow anything to happen to him.'
"I... I don't like this silence," Micheal suddenly said, releasing the air that was stored up in his puffed cheeks but Noah did not say anything about it.Micheal was annoyed. For how long were they going to live like this? For as long as Noah's memories laid dormant? What if they never came back?He saw somewhere that memories are often triggered by taking the amnesia patient to a familiar place. So, if he took Noah to one of the places he was familiar with, his memories would likely come back. Maybe a fragment or so, but it was still something to help understand who he was.But how in the world was he going to accomplish that task when he knew nothing about Noah? He could ask Noah for the places he used to frequent, but what do you know, he's lost his memory so nope, that was out of the question.Micheal sighed."Can't we just put up a missing person poster or something? Your family or your pack might be able to find you faster that way." Micheal blurted out."And so will the guys w
His reasons were purely out of a desperation to live. It was like using Micheal to stay safe but to make it up to Micheal; he would work like a slave in his house, learn the things he wasn't good at, and make sure the thoughts of dying never crossed Micheal's mind.Even if he had to annoy him to death with his persistence for that to happen, he would do it.That was how desperate he was to survive even without his memories. Something was waiting for him, he knew it. As an Alpha, duty-bound to his pack, he should feel an urgent need to quickly get bus memories and reclaim his rightful place. Yet, a peculiar sense of calm had settled over him just after two days of living here. It was as if the tranquil life of a nobody was more appealing than the mighty Alpha he once was.And it made him wonder, what kind of life did he live? He must've been proud, walking with authority and his head held high. He must've been revered but... That feeling, even though he did not remember it too well,
Micheal went silent. He was angry but he could not even prolong the matter with him because he understood Noah.It was like being in debt and knowing there was no other way to repay this debt weighing on his back, he decided to do whatever he could.Even if that meant shamelessly trying to bathe his benefactor."I get it. I get it. But there are some lines you shouldn't cross, Noah." Micheal said. He could not see Noah's face but he was certain he had that indifferent look on his face.He was devoid of emotions and acted like a remote-controlled robot, sticking to his principles and the commands he was carrying out.The only times he saw a different emotion on his face was when... He was sleepwalking.'Wait, I should probably bring this up with him, right? That bad sleeping habit of his.'"What are the lines?" Noah asked and Micheal glanced over his shoulder at him. Was he asking what lines he shouldn't cross?Of course, it was his personal space."You have to respect my opinion." Mic
Micheal felt uncomfortable and was rather embarrassed at the thought of someone helping him take a bath. Sure, he had baths with his boyfriend but...His mind wandered towards the past, his ex used to be loving and gentle. And because he was younger, he had a bold and enthusiastic energy. He was loving too.He could remember winters when he'd rush to work, only to get a call from the security on the down floor telling him that someone was looking for him. He'd rush down only to find Zane with a cheerful smile."You forgot your scarf, you dummy." Zane would say, wrapping the black scarf around his neck and smiling heartily. "If you catch a cold, it's a one-way ticket to the hospital, and you know you hate needles."Micheal laughed and thanked him while blushing. It was warm to know there was someone who cared for him.Zane was warm, but then that warmth gradually began to fade with time. He was suddenly nonchalant, always busy with something and spending nights out.He also started mak
Micheal was pissed and Noah, well... He was simply oblivious. He claimed to have no idea how he got out of his clothes and how he got into Micheal's bed.He was just as confused as Micheal, only... Micheal wasn't exactly confused as he had discovered Noah had a bad sleepwalking habit. It was like there was a pervy and shameless personality that laid dormant and only attacked Micheal when the present Noah was asleep or unconscious.'Does he go around sexually harassing anyone close by after falling asleep?' Micheal wondered, but he could not find an answer since Noah had lost his memory. And then, an idea hit him.'Wait, what if Noah was actually such a pervert and losing his memory gave him a chance to turn a new leaf?' he slammed his fist on realization. 'That could be it.' he thought but then realized how absurd that would be since Noah was an Alpha of a possibly powerful pack. So, he was probably reputable and not a pervert.'Tsk, I almost felt better thinking bad of him.' he thou
