A brand new fancy car parked in front of a red-light district club.

My husband, Rob Anderson, slowly stepped out of that car. He walked into the club and paid no attention to the group of police officers he passed by.

He had no idea that I had died five years ago.

My soul felt as light as a feather. I shuffled into the private room to find Rob sitting on a couch while all the escorts that I was once close to kneel in front of him. Their heads hung in silence.

Then, Rob spoke up. “Where’s Heather?”

It seemed that, five years after having abandoned me in this place, Rob had finally remembered my name.

However, the reason he looked for me was to force me to listen to his mistress’ thoughts again.

Fiona had gotten upset and skipped dinner, so Rob spent a lot of effort to locate me, going as far as completely forgetting about his own social status.

Rob had always favored and loved Fiona a lot.

I knew why Fiona was upset. Rob was an award-winning actor. During the promotion of his new film, the staff members had used AI to create a fake child image of him and the female lead character. Fiona had come across that and had gotten angry.

One skipped meal was enough to make Rob extremely worried and anxious. Hence, the sudden thought of me. He wanted me to listen to Fiona’s thoughts to find out why she was upset.

However, he could not find me at all.

The other escorts were smiling fawningly when they heard that Rob was here for me. “You’re here for Hetty?”

Hetty was my name in the red-light district.

“She left five years ago. Her first client was a rich man. That man fell in love with her at first sight, so he bought her off with one million dollars. All of us were so jealous of her!”

“That’s right, Hetty’s lucky. She met such a great man. I bet she’s living her best life somewhere out there!”

I found it hard to believe that these ladies, whom I was once so close to, would smear my name in this manner.

Once they had found out that I was pregnant with Rob’s child, they had helped me entertain my clients. After learning that I had been murdered, they had put some money together to buy a coffin for me to hold a grand funeral, even though my corpse was not in the coffin.

My parents had passed away a long time ago. I did not have any other relatives, so I viewed all of these women as older sisters.

However, while I currently needed the truth to help me retain my reputation, they spoke nothing but harmful lies. Had they been instructed to say these things?

Upon hearing them, Rob’s already impatient expression darkened immediately.

“Are you really saying that Heather eloped with a random man five years ago?” he asked with a murderous glint in his eyes.
