Chapter 13: Rivals met

“I already found her. She is hiding under the bridge. Come here quickly!”

It started to pour torrential rain. A man holding a flashlight shone directly at her under the bridge. Elise's face was white, she shivered backward but found that someone else stopped her. While he was not paying attention, she bravely rushed forward, snatched the sharp knife from his side, and pushed him into the lake.

Elise rushed out. The rain erased the whole sky, causing her face to hurt, and her whole body was shaking because of the cold. The people in black suits had gathered around her by now. Flashlight shining into her eyes made her disoriented, she held the knife to her neck and shouted:

“Don't come near me. Otherwise, I will kill myself.”

The others immediately stopped, looking at each other in bewilderment. Their master only said to take this girl back alive, not kill her. Of course, they don't dare to kill people freely.

Like a leader, one of them softened his voice to negotiate, “Lady, we just took you back to meet our master. Don't worry, we won't harm you!"

Saying that he slowly walked towards her. Elise pointed her knife at him, shouting, “Stand back. I don't know who your master is, why are you arresting me?"

“It's raining now, you just need to follow us back to meet our master. Our master will not mistreat you…”

Elise knew it was not a good way to hang around with these people. At this moment, she discovered that in the distance there was a car flashing lights like a signal. These people didn't know it, it was not like they were their people. If so, she could only risk it.

Elise bent down to pick up the stone at her feet and threw it at the group of people, taking advantage of the chaos to try to escape. As soon as she passed a man, he pulled out a knife at his waist, the blade slashed through a line on her wrist, causing the blood to flow incessantly, and the arm also was cut slightly.

The man grabbed her hair and pulled her back. When Elise was stunned, she stabbed the knife hard into the man's hand and escaped.

Behind her was a group of people chasing, Elise desperately ran towards the car. Banging hard on the car window, the man in the car quickly opened the door to see a familiar face, he couldn't help but be surprised, "Miss Elise?"

Elise hurriedly got into the car, her voice whispering to him, "Run! Quickly!"

The driver did not understand what happened but did as she asked. Driving off this street, he looked in the rearview mirror to see Elise had passed out and discovered that her whole body was covered in blood. His face changed, and he quickly stepped on the pedal to run to the hospital.

In front of the recovery room.

Vincent Blythe rushed over. His clothes were wet from the rain and wet, his hair was swept back, and his face was constantly worried.

“What's up? Where did you find her?”

The driver just now was Vincent Blythe's driver. He drove Vincent to that area to look for Elise. When he saw Elise, he was surprised, but because she was in a dangerous state, he had to take her to the hospital first before informing Vincent.

The two of them entered the hospital room. Vincent looked at Elise's pale face, her whole body pitifully emaciated.

His driver briefly reported the situation:

“Lost a lot of blood. Fortunately, Miss Elise's blood type is not rare so the doctor finished the blood transfusion. While I was sitting in the car waiting for you, she suddenly ran to the car to ask for help, followed by a group of people."

“It's Gilbert Grande. He even dared to hurt Elise after being relevant to the death of…”

Amid the endless flashbacks, the doorbell of Katherine's house suddenly rang, cutting off the story she was telling Louis.

Louis was about to go to open the door when she stopped, "Let me open the door."

Katherine couldn't imagine anyone coming to her house at this hour. After returning to S city, she still had no contact with any friends. Her daily life was only going to work, coming home, and resting, completely not hanging out or meeting anyone. If it was her in the past, she certainly wouldn't be able to stand it. But now she learned to suffer in patience, waiting for the right time to appear.

Just a little more time, a war will certainly break out.

As soon as she opened the door, a familiar man appeared in front of her, "Elise, are you still okay?"

Katherine was stunned for a moment, not expecting him to show up here, asking, "I'm fine. Vincent, why are you here? You said you'll only return to S city next week, right?"

Louis sat on the sofa and saw Vincent standing in front of the house, his eyebrows furrowed, his handsome face clearly showing his displeasure. He stood up, slowly walking to stand behind Katherine in silence.

She didn't find out until Vincent said, "Oh, Mr. Louis, didn't expect to see you here."

Vincent did not care about Louis's expression, he looked at Katherine and said, "I was originally planning to return next week, but I knew you were sick, so I immediately flew to S City, afraid you need help."

"Without the help of Mr. Vincent, she's always fine." Louis grabbed her shoulder blades, forcing her close to him, his voice firm as if he claimed possessiveness.

Vincent shrugged his shoulders, laughed, and joked with Katherine, "I've come a long way, don't you invite me in for a cup of water?"

Louis was about to say something but Katherine quickly spoke first, pushing Louis back and leaning to the side to invite Vincent into the house. She glanced at Louis once, catching his eyes as he was also looking at her with displeasure. Helpless, she just shook her head and went inside the house.

"My house is a bit messy, don't laugh." Katherine poured Vincent a glass of warm water. She was momentarily dizzy, and her whole body leaned forward, but fortunately, Vincent caught her. Her small body seemed to rest in his arms.

Louis slammed the door, he saw the scene in front of him and quickly walked over, pulling Katherine away from Vincent.

“Flying Star Company's treatment is really good. Employees being sick are also personally taken care of by CEO.” Vincent was a little surprised by Louis's strong reaction, he raised his hands to show his innocence, then sat down seriously.

Katherine was helped by Louis to sit down. He sat close to her, his bombastic eyes looking at Vincent.

“Katherine is my secretary, and it's not surprising that I visit my employee. In contrast, Mr. Vincent suddenly came to visit her late at night. This is just strange.”

Vincent laughed, “Our relationship is very close, maybe even more than you think, sir. So this is not strange at all.”

Katherine sat in the middle, watching the two of them constantly confront each other then she burst into laughter. Vincent Blythe, you're clearly teasing Louis! With Louis's childish defiant personality, she was already having a hard time wheedling him. Don't give her any more work, okay?

Sitting for more than 15 minutes, but she felt that time had passed 3 hours, could not stand it anymore, Katherine had to interrupt, "Stop arguing. You both go home, I'm going to sleep!"

Katherine just stood up. They both jumped up at the same time, each holding one of her hands, "Let me help you."

Two men of the same height stood facing each other with murderous expressions on their faces. They were like a castle that completely covered Katherine's small body. She angrily threw out her hand and shouted:

"It's just a common fever! I didn't break my leg? Go back all the way!”
