The morning sun bathed Moonhaven in warm golden light.

For the first time in days…

There were no screams.

No clashing swords.

No crimson skies.

Only silence.

The villagers slowly emerged from their shelters, looking around in disbelief.

“We’re alive…”

A little girl hugged her mother tightly.

“We won.”

Tears of relief rolled down many faces.

Although dozens had been injured, no lives had been lost thanks to Lyra’s healing gift.

The people looked toward her with gratitude.

Some bowed their heads.

Others whispered prayers.

“The Princess saved us.”

“The Moon Goddess truly chose her.”

Lyra lowered her gaze, uncomfortable with the attention.

“I only did what anyone should do.”

An elderly woman smiled gently.

“No, child.”

“Many have power.”

“But very few choose kindness.”

Near the western gate…

Karl stood watching Lyra from a distance.

Damien approached quietly.

“You’ve been staring at her for ten minutes.”

Karl sighed.

“I almost lost her.”

Damien folded his arms.

“And yet…”

“You still haven’t told her how you feel.”

Karl gave a faint, bitter smile.

“I don’t deserve to.”

Damien placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Maybe not.”

“But earning forgiveness starts with honesty.”

Karl looked toward Lyra again.

For the first time…

He wasn’t thinking about destiny.

Or the Moon Goddess.

He was simply thinking about the woman whose smile had begun to change him.

Meanwhile…

Arnold was helping rebuild one of the damaged cottages when Lucien walked over.

“You fought well.”

Arnold chuckled.

“I could say the same.”

For a moment, they worked in silence.

Then Lucien spoke.

“The Blood Gate may be closed…”

“But the war has only begun.”

Arnold nodded.

“I know.”

Lucien looked toward Lyra.

“She needs training.”

“Not just with weapons.”

“She must learn to control the Royal Moon Mark.”

Arnold agreed.

“If she doesn’t…”

“The power could consume her.”

That afternoon…

Lyra wandered to the peaceful lake outside Moonhaven.

The water sparkled beneath the sunlight.

She sat beneath a willow tree, finally allowing herself to breathe.

So much had changed.

Only weeks ago…

She had been a servant no one noticed.

Now…

People called her Princess.

She still struggled to believe it.

Soft footsteps approached.

She turned.

Karl stood a few feet away.

“I hope I’m not disturbing you.”

Lyra offered a small smile.

“No.”

He hesitated before sitting on a nearby rock.

Neither spoke for several moments.

Finally, Karl broke the silence.

“When I was young…”

“My father taught me that an Alpha should never show weakness.”

Lyra listened quietly.

“I believed him.”

“So I buried every emotion.”

“Every fear.”

“Every doubt.”

He looked at the lake.

“And in doing that…”

“I stopped seeing people.”

“I only saw responsibilities.”

He turned toward her.

“That’s why I failed you.”

Lyra remained silent.

“I judged you before I knew you.”

“I believed lies instead of seeking the truth.”

His voice softened.

“I can’t change the past.”

“But if you’ll allow it…”

“I want to become someone worthy of your trust.”

Lyra looked into his silver eyes.

For the first time…

She saw sincerity instead of pride.

“I don’t hate you anymore, Karl.”

His heart lifted slightly.

“But trust…”

She smiled sadly.

“Trust isn’t given.”

“It’s earned.”

Karl nodded.

“I’ll earn it.”

He stood and quietly walked away.

Watching him leave…

Lyra realized something.

The arrogant Alpha she had once feared…

Was slowly becoming a different man.

As evening fell…

A celebration began in Moonhaven.

Music echoed through the village.

Children danced around bonfires.

Fresh bread, roasted meat, and fruit filled long wooden tables.

For one night…

Everyone chose hope over fear.

Arnold handed Lyra a small flower crown.

“It belonged to our spring festival.”

She laughed softly.

“I’ve never worn one before.”

“It suits you.”

Nearby, Karl watched the exchange.

His wolf growled quietly.

You’re jealous.

Karl sighed.

“I know.”

High above the celebration…

Hidden among the branches of an ancient oak…

A pair of amber eyes watched every movement.

The mysterious observer wore a dark cloak embroidered with a silver raven.

He lowered a small spyglass.

“So…”

“The Princess has awakened.”

He reached into his pocket and unfolded an old parchment.

On it were three names.

* Lyra of Lunaris ✓

* Karl Blackwood

* The Shadow King (Unknown)

The stranger crossed out Lyra’s name.

Then he whispered,

“The pieces are finally moving.”

He vanished into the darkness before anyone noticed.

Far beyond Moonhaven, inside a palace buried beneath endless snow, the ancient figure awakened in the previous chapter slowly rose from an icy throne.

A servant knelt before him.

“My King…”

“The Princess lives.”

The man’s golden eyes gleamed with quiet satisfaction.

“Good.”

He picked up a weathered silver crown and held it in his hands.

“Tell the kingdoms…”

“The Frost Court has returned.”
