The voice on the other end of the mind-link connection quickly responded.

They neither said they believed me nor that they didn't.

Honestly speaking, no one would believe such a claim. Lucien Edmonton was the Alpha of Moonshadow Pack and one of the most powerful Alphas in the entire kingdom.

Who would dare steal his pup and impersonate his mate?

"Layla Langford. Lucien's mate."

There was a three-second silence.

"The Alpha's marking ceremony has not yet taken place. The pack has no Luna on record."

"I know. There wasn't enough time to hold the marking ceremony before he went off to war. He left this mind-link stone to me. He told me to contact you if I ever got into trouble.

"The shewolf who stole our pup is Lisa. She has gray hair, a round face, and freckles on her face.

"She also stole the moonstone necklace Lucien gave me, along with the thirty letters he wrote to me."

I said everything in one breath. My throat was so hoarse that I could barely make a sound after saying all that.

There was another long silence from the other end of the mind-link connection. They seemed to be discussing what I had told them.

Finally, they asked me, "But how do you know her destination is Moonshadow Pack?"

It was because I had died once before.

I took a deep breath. The memories of my previous life were so horrific that I didn't even need to deliberately recall them. I remembered every detail.

When I woke up in my previous life, my pup, the necklace, the letters, and Lisa Summers were all gone.

I dragged my weak body after them, but the door had already been locked.

Lisa was ruthless. She had dumped a massive amount of wolfsbane into the water supply of Greenwood Pack.

No one suspected her.

I also told them things Lucien had shared with me about his childhood.

The voice on the other end of the mind-link connection immediately turned serious.

"I'm Beta Simon. Are you safe right now?

"We've already sent werewolves to look for you. Until we reach you, you must protect yourself."

I finally relaxed. I then looked out the window and smiled.

"I will."

That was why Lisa had been able to succeed.

A deliberately muffled set of footsteps came from outside the window.
