Isadora's POV

As the chief guard asserted his authority, the other guards swiftly dropped their chains and stood down, saluting him in acknowledgment of the queen's orders.

Lisa and I rushed to Matamoros's side, but the devastating truth hit me like a tidal wave—he was no longer breathing. Panic seized me, and through tears, I cried out, "He's dead!"

In that intense moment, my heart pounded as the chief guard stepped forward, his expression grave. I watched anxiously as he examined Matamoros closely. When he checked Matamoros's pulse, the chief guard delivered the news, "He's not dead, at least not yet. He's only unconscious for now, but he could die if he doesn't get urgent medical attention, given the multiple tortures he endured."

A wave of relief washed over me, and I couldn't help but sigh. The chief guard wasted no time, swiftly signaling for the guards to rush Matamoros to the park general hospital.
