CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR: Greater Good

Now I got three lives to save and one innocence to prove. Everything is going out of hand and it’s driving me insane.

“Serra, calm down.” Grip reached out to grab my arm, halting me.

I swiveled my head around to face him. “How could I possibly calm down? We’re running out of time. I got three lives in my hand and one name to clean.”

“You’re not complied to save them, Serra.” He put two cups of coffee on top of the table and sat on the couch.

“I know but I couldn’t help it. I foresaw their deaths before hand, I should at least warn them, help them–”

“You did. You warned and helped them but what happened? They never believed you. Some hated you when you’re just trying to help and even tried to kill you,” he nagged and I understood him. He just wanted me safe. He was trying to pull me away from danger. “Come here.” He tapped the space beside him.

I sighed and sat next to him. He coiled his arm around my waist and pulled me up on his lap. He kissed the top of my head and rested it on
