Blood for Betrayal

Joey and I returned to the manor in silence. With the tension subsiding, Joey apologized for lashing out at me. “I’m sorry, Jennie. My sweet Jennie, please forgive me.” “You care more about Anna than you are about me, Joey,” I uttered dejectedly. “No, not at all, Jennie. I’m only looking out for her because she’s your family. “I’m the Alpha of the Moonstone Pack. I have a duty to the pack.” He gave me a peck on the forehead and murmured in my ear. “My Jennie, the Moon Goddess chose you to be my fated mate. You mean the world to me.” Joey carried me into the bedroom, his kisses fluttering across my face and neck. Holding me from behind, he tugged at my dress and traced his lips against my skin. At the height of the moment, his phone rang. There was no telling what the caller was, but Joey shot me a frown before muttering, “I apologize for Jennie’s behavior. I’m on my way now. Realization struck me that it was Anna on the other end of the line. I smiled bitterly t

Jake wasn’t very keen on Anna or Mollie. I laid him to rest next to our mother’s grave, so no one would disturb his peace. “I won’t let them get away with this, Jake.” I removed the diamond ring from my ring finger and set it down at the base of Jake’s headstone. On my life, I swore to make Joey and Anna pay for what they had done. For the next five days, I focused on Jake’s burial, not once stepping back into the manor. I was faced with Joey’s questioning when I dragged myself back home. “Where have you been? Do you know how worried Anna and I have been? “Give Anna a call right now and admit your mistake. You shouldn’t make her worry.” I knew that Joey couldn’t care less about my whereabouts. His primary concern was Anna. However, I was no longer the Jennie I was five days ago. I was out for blood, not at all wasting my breath on the likes of him. I brushed past Joey and headed for the bedroom with a blank face. Joey caught up to me and grabbed my right arm.

Laurent and I stepped into the manor. Glancing at the giant Alpha King crest on Laurent’s finger, Gale asked the obvious question in surprise. “W-Who are you?” Laurent, taking me by the hand, made a beeline to the head seat in the living room, his gaze piercing. “I am Laurent Ford, the Alpha King and Jennie’s grandfather.“Twenty-two years ago, my daughter kept her royal blood a secret and mated with you. Now, I’m taking my granddaughter, Jennie, home.” Dread washed over Gale. “No, Alpha Ford. This has to be a mistake. Jennie has never shifted. She can’t even beat an Omega. Thanks to the Bates’ standing in the pack, Joey looked past her flaw and mated with her.” Even at this point, Gale refused to believe that I carried the Alpha King’s blood in me. I scoffed, my voice dripping with disdain, “Oh, I forgot to mention that I have shifted today. Like Mom, I am a white wolf. The moonstone is the Moon Goddess’ gift to white wolves. Please return the stone to me. It belongs

Joey and Anna’s mating ceremony was nothing short of lavish. Gale and Mollie invited the pack’s friends and family to the event. They were eager to prove that even though I was the Alpha King’s granddaughter, Anna was just as worthy. She could still become the pack Alpha’s Luna and uphold the family’s honor. However, they got another thing coming. There was no way in hell I would let them have their happy ending. My mother and brother, resting six feet under, would never rest in peace. I entered the venue, and Lily approached me with a smile. “I didn’t think you’d show up, Jennie.” I let out a chuckle, my voice dripping with sarcasm. “How could I miss my former mate and stepsister’s mating ceremony? “I’d regret it if I didn’t witness this moment.” Aware of where I stood now, Lily asked curiously, “I heard that you’re learning to become the next ruler. How does it feel? Are you enjoying it?” “Absolutely,” I answered. Laurent took care of everything, even hiring
