However, Gabby stepped on my wrist and mocked me.

“See, my marriage is real. You’re just a homewrecker pretending to be Dan’s wife! I’m going to teach you a lesson today!”

Gabby stepped on my wrist with her sharp heel, and my ears rang from the pain.

Her friends started to hit me with metal rods. I curled up in a fetal position.

“How could you hit me before you figure out the matter? I’m a board member of Star Corporation. I’m going to sue everyone who hurt me. All of you will bear legal consequences!”

After I said that, everyone was silent for a while before they burst into laughter.

“She was just claiming to be Mr. Anderson’s wife, and now she’s saying that she’s a board member of Star Corporation. What a liar!”

“Star Corporation is a reputable company in River City! Do you think any random person could be a board member?”

Gabby cocked an eyebrow and gave the rest of them more confidence.

“Star Corporation is my husband’s company. I have never heard of you as a board member. Everyone, don’t worry! I’m the CEO’s wife.

“Whoever manages to teach this homewrecker a good lesson, I’ll arrange a position for you in Star Corporation!”

Everyone eagerly closed in on me.

“Star Corporation only recruits overseas talent and graduates from top colleges. The annual salary is over a million dollars.”

“She’s a homewrecker anyway. Let’s just hit her. I hate homewreckers!”

Immediately after, someone grabbed my hair and started to pinch me.

I screamed. Just when I thought it would end up in a stampede, the airport security blew their whistles and started to disperse the crowd.

“Why are you gathering here? There is a VIP from Star Corporation arriving today! Get out of the way.”

They quickly dispersed the crowd and a few of them came to help me up.

Gabby glared at them coldly with her arms crossed. She tapped on the floor impatiently with her foot.

“Are you chasing me away? Do you know who I am?”

The leading security guard, John George, walked forward respectfully.

“Madam, we received news that a VIP from Star Corporation had flown with our airline, so we have to increase security to avoid any crowding.”

Gabby snorted and looked smug. She poked John’s chest with her metal rod.

“Star Corporation? I bet you’re talking about me. I’m Dan’s wife!”

She was holding her marriage certificate, so she flashed it to him.

“Open your eyes and see. I’m the person from Star Corporation that you’re talking about. I think Ocean Airline is one of our subsidiaries.

“How could you not recognize me? Be careful, I could get you fired.”

John took a few steps back from being poked by the metal rod. He pursed his lips in silence.

However, he still got his security team to protect me.

Gabby snorted and snapped her fingers impatiently.

“Since you want to play the hero, then you can be the punching bag on her behalf.”

While they talked, I quickly gave Dan a call.

Gabby was acting like she was the rightful wife all along. If her marriage certificate was legitimate, it meant that mine was not authentic.

However, Dan did not answer.

Gabby stared at me mockingly. “Why? Are you calling for help or are you looking for Dan?”

She chuckled and kicked me. Then she glared at me and said viciously.

“Dan says no matter when, he’ll definitely answer my call! I’m going to kill off your last bit of hope now.”
