Chapter 4

Author: Blue Carberry
They were so frightened that they quickly stepped in front of her. "What are you doing? Put the knife down!"

I laughed coldly. "If I actually stabbed her, then you could call me extreme."

I twisted my wrist and smiled as I pressed the knife against my own neck. "I don't want to talk about this anymore. Move! I'm leaving."

They panicked at once. They wanted to stop me, but they were too afraid that I might hurt myself.

"Okay. I'll have the driver take you wherever you want to go. Just put the knife down. Don't hurt yourself."

I picked up my suitcase and took a few steps.

Then Alex noticed the things I had thrown into the trash.

There was a birthday cake model he had made for me himself, a limited-edition collectible figure, and a scarf David had knitted for me on one of my birthdays.

His voice was angry, but there was also a hint of panic. "Amy, this is too much! How could you throw all of this away?"

I stopped and answered calmly. "I'm already someone who doesn't matter to you. So what's the point of keeping these things?"

Lucas instantly exploded with anger.

His face turned bright red as he rushed over and kicked the trash can over. "You're so ungrateful, Amy! No wonder Dad would rather have Chloe as his daughter. No wonder Mom doesn't want you..."

"Shut up!" David immediately cut him off.

Everyone turned to look at me.

I had no idea what they expected to see. So I simply gave them a faint smile, turned around, and prepared to leave.

Chloe spoke carefully behind me, "Amy, can't we really talk this out? That little sheep charm on your suitcase was something I bought for you. We really can get along."

I followed her gaze and looked at the little charm, then I laughed bitterly inside.

I used to believe we could get along too.

But Chloe kept taking things that belonged to me. Little by little, she showed me just how fake and selfish she really was.

I calmly said, "I'll buy you a new one."

Lucas let out a cold laugh and stepped forward to tug at the little sheep charm. "You make it sound so easy. Chloe worked under the hot sun handing out flyers to earn money for this. You never had to do that. Stand outside in the sun for one hour and consider it repayment to Chloe. Can you even do that?"

I stared at them coldly.

Working hard for money had always been something they looked down on.

But when Chloe did it, suddenly it became proof of her good character.

I couldn't be bothered to argue with them. I walked straight into the yard and stopped.

David followed me for a few steps, but Alex grabbed his arm and stopped him.

The three of them looked at each other. They clearly thought I would give in.

So they still believed I was only doing this to get their attention.

I turned my back to them and stood in the yard.

The sun was blazing, but strangely, I didn't feel the heat.

Sweat ran down my face. Every drop made the wound on the back of my head throb.

Memories of all the times they had taken Chloe's side flooded my mind. The more I remembered, the more desperate I became to leave.

This was the last time I would let them hurt me.

The sweat kept pouring down my face. My vision slowly went dark.

All my strength suddenly left my body, and I collapsed onto the ground.

From inside the house, I faintly heard their conversation stop.

Then Lucas gave a careless scoff. "Amy, stop pretending."

Chloe spoke beside him in that same fake, concerned voice, "We should still go check on Amy. If she's really sick, I'll feel terrible."

Alex immediately stopped her. "You don't need to worry about her. Once she's done pretending, she'll get up on her own. Someone like her, I've already..."

Before Alex could finish, a black Maybach pulled up outside the mansion.

A middle-aged woman in a beige trench coat stepped out. She had elegant makeup and a sharp, mature look.

The moment she saw what was happening, her face darkened with anger. "David, is this how you take care of my daughter?"

David, Alex, and Lucas all froze in panic.

Please come home with us."I looked at Alex's bleeding hand, but I still refused. They had always waited until after hurting me to try to make things right. But by then, it was already too late.I repeated myself, my voice even firmer than before, "No. I'm not the same Amy who used to wait for your love anymore. I have my own design studio here. I have my own friends, and I have the life I want. I don't need to go back, and I don't need you to make things up to me."Lucas's eyes turned red with panic. "Amy, are you still angry with us? You can hit me or yell at me if you want. Just please don't abandon us..."I looked at him calmly. "None of that matters anymore. I used to blame you. I blamed you for playing favorites. I blamed you for accusing me without knowing the truth. I blamed you for destroying all the hopes I had. But I don't blame you anymore, because you don't matter to me anymore."David's body swayed, and his

"Amy, this is all my fault. I can give the spot back to you. Please don't fight with Dad anymore."Her fake, tearful voice made my stomach turn.I casually shook her off.She let out a cry and collapsed to the floor. Her arm started bleeding too.Lucas heard the noise and rushed over in a panic.Alex rushed over at the same time and shoved me away.I wasn't prepared for it, and the back of my head slammed into the doorframe. I felt a little dizzy and could only vaguely hear him scolding me. "Amy, you've gone too far!"Lucas held Chloe protectively and glared at me. "Apologize to Chloe right now! How could you hurt someone over a stupid admission spot?"I touched the back of my head, then casually wiped the blood from my hand.I laughed coldly. "Haha. She took something that belonged to me, and now she'
