Chapter 3

Author: Blue Carberry
I roughly wiped my face and walked straight into the house.

Just then, Chloe suddenly acted as if she had only just noticed me.

She ran over with an apologetic look and grabbed my arm. "Amy, this is all my fault. I can give the spot back to you. Please don't fight with Dad anymore."

Her fake, tearful voice made my stomach turn.

I casually shook her off.

She let out a cry and collapsed to the floor. Her arm started bleeding too.

Lucas heard the noise and rushed over in a panic.

Alex rushed over at the same time and shoved me away.

I wasn't prepared for it, and the back of my head slammed into the doorframe.

I felt a little dizzy and could only vaguely hear him scolding me. "Amy, you've gone too far!"

Lucas held Chloe protectively and glared at me. "Apologize to Chloe right now! How could you hurt someone over a stupid admission spot?"

I touched the back of my head, then casually wiped the blood from my hand.

I laughed coldly. "Haha. She took something that belonged to me, and now she's playing the victim. Chloe, aren't you tired of acting? I've already given you this entire family. What more do you want from me?"

Alex became even angrier. "Something that belonged to you? Chloe applied for that spot first! You're the one who insisted on taking it from her. We've treated you so well. Why can't you just accept Chloe? Amy, you've really disappointed us."

Lucas carefully checked Chloe's injuries and added, "You're the one making trouble for no reason."

David checked Chloe's wound before walking over with a sigh. "Amy, you need to apologize to Chloe."

Looking at all of them, I found the whole thing almost laughable.

They used to protect me with everything they had. Now, they couldn't wait to turn against me.

I stared straight into David's eyes without saying a word.

In the end, he had nothing to say either.

Three months ago, Chloe had shown off her wealth on social media. People online dug into her past and accused her of being a fake socialite who had been supported by several wealthy men. She was attacked online from every direction.

The moment David found out, he transferred ten percent of the company to Chloe's name. Then he personally used the company's official social media account to post a family photo. I wasn't in it. He publicly declared Chloe his precious daughter and stood up for her.

Alex and Lucas stayed up all night making a list of everyone who had spread rumors about her. They sent them legal notices and threatened to take every single one of them to court.

By the next morning, all the criticism had disappeared.

Meanwhile, I was the biological daughter, yet people online called me a "fraud" trying to claim a place in a wealthy family that wasn't hers.

Afterward, they simply brushed it off when I was upset. "People online will forget about it in a few days. Our relationship can't be broken by one family photo."

I was so angry that I couldn't eat.

Instead, they took Chloe to Disney World for three days just to cheer her up.

Then they posted their pictures on social media with the caption. "Happy family memories."

I could only watch from the outside as they smiled brightly in those pictures.

The scene looked exactly like what was happening now.

No. This was actually worse.

Back then, they had simply ignored me.

Now, they truly hated me.

I felt sick to my stomach. Then I pushed David away and ran into the house.

I still had a few days before leaving the country, but I didn't want to stay here anymore.

When I opened my bedroom door with my suitcase in hand, they were gathered outside, getting ready to knock.

The moment they saw my suitcase, their expressions changed.

After a stunned pause, Lucas was the first to shout. "Amy, you're pulling this stunt again?"

Alex pinched the bridge of his nose. "Can't you try something else for once?"

David reached for my suitcase. "Amy, we're family. Whatever happened, we can talk it out. Why do you have to take things this far?"

I stepped away from his hand. Then, without changing my expression, I pulled a fruit knife from my bag and pointed it at Chloe.

"Amy, look. We can protect you. No one will ever hurt you again. Please come home with us."I looked at Alex's bleeding hand, but I still refused. They had always waited until after hurting me to try to make things right. But by then, it was already too late.I repeated myself, my voice even firmer than before, "No. I'm not the same Amy who used to wait for your love anymore. I have my own design studio here. I have my own friends, and I have the life I want. I don't need to go back, and I don't need you to make things up to me."Lucas's eyes turned red with panic. "Amy, are you still angry with us? You can hit me or yell at me if you want. Just please don't abandon us..."I looked at him calmly. "None of that matters anymore. I used to blame you. I blamed you for playing favorites. I blamed you for accusing me without knowing the truth. I blamed you for destroying all the hopes I had. But I don't blame you anymore, because you don't matter to me anymore."David's body swayed, and his

Do you feel okay? Does anything hurt?"I shook my head, but my throat was dry and sore. "Mom..."Scarlett touched my forehead, and her eyes grew even redder. "As long as you're okay. "If I actually stabbed her, then you could call me extreme."I twisted my wrist and smiled as I pressed the knife against my own neck. "I don't want to talk about this anymore. Move! I'm leaving."They panicked at once. They wanted to stop me, but they were too afraid that I might hurt myself."Okay. I'll have the driver take you wherever you want to go. Just put the knife down. Don't hurt yourself."I picked up my suitcase and took a few steps. Then Alex noticed the things I had thrown into the trash. There was a birthday cake model he had made for me himself, a limited-edition collectible figure, and a scarf David had knitted for me on one of my birthdays. His voice was angry, but there was also a hint of panic. "Amy, this is too much! How could you throw all of this away?"I stopped and answered calmly. "I'm already someone who doesn't matter to you. So what
