The apartment door opened quietly.

Lucien looked up from the sofa and froze.

Seraphina stood at the entrance, a suitcase in each hand. Her head was lowered, her eyes red and swollen, her shoulders heavy as if the weight of the entire world rested on them. The sadness on her face was impossible to miss.

Lucien immediately set aside the bag of chips he had been eating and stood up.

He walked toward her without hesitation.

"It's okay," he said softly. "I'm here."

The room exploded.Voices rose all at once—angry, incredulous, furious."This is robbery!""Sixty percent?! Just like that?!""Are you out of your minds?!"The calm, refined atmosphere from moments ago shattered completely. What was presented as an "exchange" had turned into open coercion.Dorothy's fingers tightened. For a brief moment, she stepped forward, clearly intending to grab the microphone—To deny it.To stop it.—But she froze.Held back.—Lucien noticed. The smallest movements. The tension in her shoulders. The hesitation in her eyes.Something was wrong.Without drawing attention, he pulled out his phone.Typed quickly.Sent a message. Not to one person.—To several.—Then he put the phone away.—"Relax," the host said from the stage, raising a hand. Her tone remained calm.Almost soothing."You won't be giving it away for free."A faint smile."You will become part of this unification.""Your names will be remembered."She tilted her head slightly."You should be ha

Behind Dorothy, two figures followed closely.A woman and a man.At a glance, it was easy to tell—They were not ordinary attendants.Their posture, the way they carried themselves, the sharpness in their eyes—They belonged to the upper ranks of the IGJF.Executives.—Yet there was something off about them.Something… unpleasant.Their expressions were composed, but there was no warmth, no professionalism that matched the occasion.Still, no one paid attention.Because right behind them—Two more figures entered.Familiar.Too familiar.Seraphina's gaze sharpened.Lucien's eyes narrowed slightly.Jaycee Torres. And Cassy Torres. For a brief moment, Seraphina felt a flicker of surprise. Why were they here? Why were they following behind Dorothy? But the thought passed quickly.Around them, the atmosphere shifted again.Several guests immediately approached Dorothy, offering greetings, introductions, and polite conversations.Through the exchanges, Seraphina picked up a few names. The

After staying for five days in Solene City—dividing their time between the Valeza and Cross villas—Lucien and Seraphina finally left Aurelia.Their destination—Sakura Country. The event they were attending was called:The Global Gemstone Exchange Summit.Organized by the International Gem & Jewelry Federation, the summit aimed to bring together the world's most renowned gemstone designers, collectors, and industry leaders. Its purpose went beyond simple exhibition. It was a platform. For exchanging knowledge. For showcasing innovation. For discussing emerging techniques in gemstone cutting, design, and sourcing. But more importantly—It was where influence was built.Partnerships.Alliances.Power.Everything could be shaped here....The venue was located in Kiyomizu District, one of the most prestigious areas in Sakura Country.Inside the Imperial Sakura Grand Hotel—The most luxurious hotel in the district. On the seventh floor—The summit was being held. The moment they stepped o

By noon, Lucien and Seraphina remained at the main villa for lunch. The dining hall was vast.A long table stretched across the center, polished to perfection, reflecting the soft light from the chandeliers above.Yet despite its size—Only four seats were prepared.Four plates.Four sets of utensils.Nothing excessive.Nothing unnecessary. One by one, dishes were brought out.Carefully plated.Balanced.Steamed fish with delicate herbs.Roasted meats glazed to perfection.Fresh vegetables arranged like art.Light soups, rich broths. And desserts waiting at the far end.Everything was quiet.Organized.Seraphina and Aurora had already taken their seats.Lucien sat beside Seraphina.Moments later—Lucio entered. His expression—Once again stern.Composed.As if the earlier scene in the ancestral house had never happened. He took the main seat at the head of the table.Without a word. The meal began. For a while—Only the soft clinking of utensils could be heard. Then—Aurora spoke."So

Lucien narrowed his eyes slightly."Do you have somewhere to be, Dad?"Lucio paused. His expression shifted."…What did you just say?"Lucien continued, completely unfazed."Seraphina and I are already married."He gestured lightly."We already have a marriage certificate. That 'proper wedding' you're talking about is just formality."A pause."And right now, we have a lot of things to handle."Lucio's gaze sharpened."Is anything more important than your wedding?"His tone was firm.Unyielding.Lucien nodded calmly."I'm already married.""The ceremony can wait."Lucio frowned."What ceremony?""Formal wedding," he corrected immediately. "Not a 'celebration.'"Lucien shrugged."Same thing.""Money, food, guests."Aurora pressed her lips together.Barely holding back a laugh.Lucio's expression darkened."Same thing?" he repeated."You call a family wedding… the union of two major families…""A 'meal'?"Lucien leaned back slightly."Well… isn't it?""People come. They eat. They leave.

"Wow…"Seraphina couldn't help but whisper as she stopped in place. Her eyes moved slowly across the interior. The inside was even more breathtaking than the exterior. The ceiling stretched high above, adorned with intricate gold patterns that reflected the light from a massive crystal chandelier hanging at the center. The floor beneath them was polished marble, smooth and flawless, its surface reflecting their figures like a mirror.Tall pillars stood along both sides of the hall, each carved with delicate engravings—symbols of power, history, and lineage. Between them were framed portraits of past leaders of the Cross family, each one radiating authority even in stillness. On the side—A grand staircase curved upward, almost identical in structure to the one in the Valeza main villa, leading to the second floor where the inner chambers likely resided. But what drew the most attention—Was at the far end.A golden throne. Not exaggerated. Not overly decorated.Yet unmistakably—A sea
