Ira's Pov"Can you see through the gate?" I ask the angels standing beside me. "The other side looks identical to this side. Surely you know that cannot be right. I would really like to make up for my mistakes," King Ronen replies, seeming just as confused as I am."It's definitely a trap. I will go in first and observe the other side for you," Linda says to her mate. "You think you will just get past the polls and look back at us?" Aruin scoffs. "I am brave. Watch me," Linda matches forward. Lior quickly pulls her back. "It is not yet time for you to be my heroine. The situation is not dire, yet," he advises. She returns to his side with a smile. I wonder how he plains to use her this time. Obviously he did not forgive her idiotic behaviour."There are old footprints very close to the gate. I bet Lysandra's coven uses it. Question is how?" King Adon questions. The traps are harder than I expected. Still I focus on figuring out where the trick lies. The gate had no doors yet the
Ira's PovThey should just kill her as I cannot withstand the sounds of her screams. She wails and pleads like a so loud that the seers inside the valley can probably hear her. They warned us that there are traitors among us whose actions might destroy us more than the enemies we are fighting. We failed to take steps to ensure that such wouldn't happen. No wonder they didn't express confidence in our victory. We were doomed to fail."I am extremely sorry for losing your blood. I cannot imagine the horror I have created," Aruin ruefully mutters as he comes stand by my side, fingers running through his long hair.He is not to blame. Thumas manipulated Linda's selfish character. Once Lysandra uses my blood to free Luminis from the temple of shadows they will destroy Lordsland and every other pack and kingdom. We cannot gain possession of the golden trumpet before this happens. "This quest was never destined to succeed. I am an unlucky person. Everything I get involved in worsens," I te
Ira's PovI wake up feeling like I slept in thick, tight chains. But it's just King Tiras's muscular arms wrapped around me. I am hardly breathing, yet I slept peacefully. His scent is like a heavenly-made perfume, despite the fact that it is no longer strengthened by a matebond. I am breathing it in from close range.Even upclose his skin is flawless. With his eyes closed he looks like an innocent angel, strong but kind. The kind of partner I would be willing to trust. Why does the most beautiful people have characters that are the opposite of their enticing appearance? I wonder why he is holding me? My scent is definitely awful. In fact I am worried that he will complain about how I smell if I am still here when he wakes. I haven't had the chance to bathe throughout the last few days. And unlike everyone else I am a human that sweats. The angel stirs and wakes after I start to pull away. "Good morning. It is time to go," I say."You're an early bird. You should get a little more
Ira's PovAruin hands the tiny bottle with three drops of my blood to the seer while I hold my bleeding hand on top of another small bottle until several more drops fall in. I figured out that it's better to pay the Seer and the Sincarion at once rather than cut myself again later. Linda pours the medicine that the Seer provided on the wound and wraps a piece of clean cloth around my hand to cover the wound. "I would hate to be you," she says. I ignore her as I am sure that deep inside she means the opposite. I hand the Sincarion his payment and turn to leave."I can use my powers to take away your pain, if you do not mind," angel Adon offers as we make our way out of the cave.I nod. "Just do not do more than that."The pain from the wound disappears and I inwardly sigh in relief. His powers are of great use if only he can be trusted to always use them for good."Thank you," I say. "I am glad you let me help. It's a good step towards rebuilding the trust we have lost," he replies
Ira's PovOnly three of the stones land with similar markings on top. I did not even win the service of the least competent seer. There is no need to turn and pretend to be leaving since no doors will open. "Let me help. I am usually a lucky man," Lior requests. I quickly pick up the stones and hand them to him. Linda quickly spits on them, muttering something about adding her luck to his. He tosses and only four land with similar markings on the top, large ones. "It's still better than her throw," Linda comforts.Aruin tries next and fails just as spectacularly. He hands the stones to Angel Tiras who rearages them in his hand, placing the sides with small markings facing upwards. He steps forward and throws the stones in a manner that they fly through the air without rolling then only slides across the floor after landing. All ten stones remain with tiny markings on top. I may not have fully forgiven them but I cannot resist a smile. "That was impressive, thank you," I say. "Y
Ira's Point Of ViewThe Island is extremely close to the next mainland that it barely fits the 'Island' description. It has only two hills and a hidden valley inbetween. A towering wall connecting the hills blocks the path into the valley, leaving only a tinny opening that only a child can fit through."You led us here knowing well that the valley is blocked? You're the worst guide we were unfortunate to come across," Thumas mocks Aruin.Surely there must be a way through. Why else does other visitors come? Even the seers would not completely lock themselves in a valley that could flood. "From what I have heard, the weight of your fortune pushes the gates open. Let's hope we have enough." our Sincarion explains. I do not mean to judge, but the seers sound like such greedy people. Their precious service is definitely not meant for the poor. King Ronen takes my hand and helps me off the boat and onto the sandy beach. Not that I cannot do so myself. They got energy to waste. Linda tak
