I am the Real Luna

I clutched my stomach and collapsed onto the bed, the contractions tearing through me like countless long needles, stabbing straight into my organs.

Warm blood suddenly surged out from beneath me. Gasping in pain, I screamed at the servants beside the bed, "Quick… go find a midwife!"

The servants did not move an inch.

Before I could cry out again, Edgar Hawkins, the butler, entered unhurriedly from outside. His gaze swept over the pool of blood beneath me, and with a cold expression, he said to the servants, "The Alpha has just given his orders. All midwives have been sent to Serena’s room. You are to take good care of Elara Cole here."

I forced myself upright, blood dripping from the hem of my dress onto the floor. "I’m about to give birth. Please, find me a midwife. The pup in my womb is the Alpha’s own flesh and blood. If this continues, both the baby and I will die!"

Hawkins’ face was respectful, yet his eyes were utterly indifferent. "The Alpha said he must prioritize Serena first. Once Serena delivers safely, the midwives will be sent over immediately. I trust that as the Luna, you will comply with the Alpha’s arrangements."

"No! How can I just watch my pup die inside me? I’m going to find Adrian!"

A tearing wave of pain ripped through me, nearly knocking me unconscious.

I hated that I was mixed-blood, which meant that I could not use the mind link to call out to Adrian.

Bracing myself against the edge of the bed, I staggered toward the door. After only two steps, the servants dragged me straight back onto the bed, leaving a long smear of blood across the floor.

I struggled weakly, unable to break free from their strength, and collapsed back onto the bed as the sheets beneath me were instantly soaked red.

The servants pressed me down firmly.

"Elara, just endure it. Your constitution is strong. You’ll definitely make it through. Don’t make things difficult for us."

The tearing pain blurred my vision. Through the haze, I seemed to hear the door open.

I forced my eyes open and saw Ruby walking toward me, holding a bowl filled with a pitch-black liquid.

Ruby was my personal attendant, the one closest to me. As if grasping a lifeline, I reached out to her, my voice hoarse as I begged, "Ruby, save me. Go get a midwife!"

Ruby smiled and lifted the bowl to my lips. "Elara, drink this first. Once you do, it won’t hurt anymore."

Before I could react, the bitter liquid was forced down my throat.

"This is Bloodcalm Vine. It will weaken you, but at least it will allow the pup to hold on until Serena finishes giving birth."

I struggled desperately, the medicine splashing all over my face. "Are you insane? I’m your master! What I need right now is a midwife!"

Ruby pressed me down mercilessly and poured the rest of the potion into my mouth. "I’m sorry, Elara. This is the Alpha’s decision. He said that since you are the Luna, you should show tolerance."

I retched violently, but nothing came up.

Suddenly, the pup inside me thrashed fiercely, the force so strong that it left me limp on the bed.

I looked at Ruby, my eyes filled with pleading. "Ruby, we’ve been together for so long. Can you really bear to watch my pup die inside me? I’m about to give birth. Please, save me!"

A flicker of hesitation crossed Ruby’s eyes, but it vanished almost instantly. She grabbed gauze and stuffed it into my mouth. "I’m sorry, Elara. I can’t disobey the Alpha. Don’t blame me."

I shook my head desperately, muffled sounds spilling from my throat.

Several servants quickly changed me into clean clothes and wiped away all the blood beneath me.

The movements of the pup inside my womb grew weaker and weaker. I could feel it crying out for help, yet there was nothing I could do.

Despair slowly swallowed me whole.
