"So, are we going to hitchhike?" I curiously looked at Nova when she finished packing.

She smirked. "No, we're taking my car."

My mouth opened in shock, and I stared at her, wondering if she was joking. I knew that she said that a lot had changed when I was gone, but a car? She had her own car?! "Don't tell me you're driving it."

She glared at me and exited the house, heading toward the back of the house.

Shit. "You're driving?" I followed her, trying to figure out how the most distracted person I had ever met was able to keep her eyes on the road for more than twenty seconds. "Maybe you should let me drive?" I suggested, but then we reached the place where she parked the car. I looked at it and tilted my head, dumbfounded.

She turned around and stated proudly, "This is my little Beetle."

An awkward chuckle left my throat. "This?"

"Yes," she confirmed. "And since you asked me so nicely, I will let YOU drive it." One thing was for certain: during these twelve months, she had sure
