Lily

I feel a wave of warmth when Wesley places me on his bed. I’m usually quite an independent person, but this time, I’m welcoming his help.

“I’m going to heal you now,” Wesley says in a gentle voice. It’s much different from his usual gruff tone, and I can’t help but blush when his hand emits a faint glow before all the pain disappears from my legs.

“Thank you,” I whisper. “For healing me.”

He gives me a weak smile before he focuses on my wound. They are as good as new, making me gasp.

“Woah! I had no idea you had magic coursing in your veins.”

He chuckles softly and leans back from me, standing up once more. “Not even after meeting my grandma, who can see into the past and the future?”

“No, I thought it was just her.”

Wesley smiles. “It’s not just her. Most people in the Brooke family are gifted with magic.”

“Oh…”

“Mhm…” He grimaces. “Does that frighten you?”
