IVY’S POV

SERENA’S SUICIDE NOTE

Dear Damien,

By the time you’re reading this, I’m already gone.

I could have left this world without explaining anything, but I feel like you deserve to know the truth because you are a good person.

And just like me, you never wanted any of this, but we were both unfortunate enough to be born into inconsiderate families who cared more about their reputation than our happiness.

There is something I should have told you from the very beginning of this marriage.

IVY’S POVClara scoffed. “A guest at a Blackwood event? Bullshit. Ethan, I think this bitch is following us.”Ethan let out a disbelieving chuckle, looking rather pleased with their discovery. “I think she is too. After all that talk about moving on in my office and even throwing my ring away, she’s still obsessed with me.”Ethan slipped an arm around Clara’s waist.“I’m sorry, Ivy, but I think you should move on. Show her your ring, babe.”Clara deliberately lifted her hand between us, making sure the diamond caught the light.“We’re engaged,” Ethan announced proudly. “We’re happy, and we’re getting married.”I looked at the ring, feeling nothing but pity for Clara, before turning my attention back to the two of them.“Congratulations to both of you. I genuinely wish you both well. Now, please enjoy your party.”I watched their mocking smiles drop before I turned to leave, but Clara stepped directly into my path.“Look at this bitch.” Her voice was loud enough that a few nearby guest

IVY’S POV“Ivy, Ava is going to be fine. We’re only leaving her for a few hours.”I sighed and dropped my phone onto my lap, willing myself to listen to Carolina. But I couldn’t.The moment I saw the screen light up with another notification from the new nanny, I picked up my phone and started typing another message, only for Carolina to snatch it from my hand.“This is exactly why Damien asked me to come and pick you up myself,” she scolded, slipping my phone into her handbag. “Ava will be fine. Mark is watching them, and the nanny isn’t going to try anything stupid.”“I know,” I muttered, glancing at her. “I just want to make sure everything is okay.”“You have checked on them five times since we left the house.”“Six,” I corrected quietly. She stared at me for a moment before shaking her head.“You see what I mean? You’re becoming impossible.”I smiled despite myself. The new nanny was really lovely. Damien and I had conducted the interview ourselves, and out of everyone we had spo

  • I’m Yours, Mr. Blackwood   HOLD ON TO THIS

IVY’S POVMy mind went back to that poor woman and her daughter. Despite the cruel loss of her husband and son, she still had a bright spirit.“I feel so bad for all of them. Their only crime was falling in love.”“Tell me about it. I didn’t even know how to react after reading the note on the day she died. But in the end, I decided to forgive her because it wasn’t her fault. Her parents were demons,” he admitted. The anger beneath his words was impossible to miss.“Yes. Why would they put their own daughter through all that? Where was their conscience?” I asked, my voice trembling with disbelief.Damien’s jaw tightened as he stared at the floor for a moment.“That’s why I hate them more than anything. The Sinclairs are the most heartless people on earth. I just wish she had come to me instead of bearing all this. I would have helped her and Patrick,” he replied.“She was probably scared you would judge her,” I offered softly.“Yeah, I understand,” he murmured.I looked down at Serena

He was the son of our family’s gardener, and my parents never believed someone like him was good enough for me.When they discovered that we were together, they fired his father and did everything they could to push Patrick out of my life. But they couldn’t take him out of my heart. We continued seeing each other in secret, and when my parents discovered that I was still secretly visiting him, they ki

  • I’m Yours, Mr. Blackwood   I HAD TO TELL YOU.

IVY’S POV“Oh, dear. I’m so glad nothing happened to her,” Mrs. Miller sighed, still looking dreadful.“Me too. You know you can still come and see her, Mrs. Miller,” he reminded her gently. “I don’t know why you keep refusing to do so.”“I will,” she told him with a sigh. “You know your status in society, Damien. I don’t want to draw any attention to you and her. I will see her when the time is right.”“Fine. As you wish.” He threw his hands in surrender, and even I could tell that he’d tried to persuade her to do this countless times.“My beautiful girl.” She turned her attention to me, and my back straightened on its own. “What is your name, dear?”“Ivy. Ivy Hayes.”“Ivy Hayes.” The woman repeated my name with a smile. “One thing I love about Damien is that he has impeccable taste. From Serena to you. Tell me, dear, how did you both meet?”I looked over at Damien for help, but he was playing with Alice, leaving me to handle this conversation with this very curious lady.“Well, I’m

  • I’m Yours, Mr. Blackwood   THE LIFE OF SERENA (1)

IVY’S POVThe pounding of my heart grew stronger as soon as the car stopped in the driveway. My hand tightened around Damien’s as I leaned closer to the tinted window and looked outside. The street was quiet and run-down, the kind of place where low-income families struggled to make ends meet.“Where is this place?” I muttered, looking around.“Are you scared?” I heard him chuckle beside me.I turned to look at him, not bothering to deny it. “Of course, I’m scared. This place looks so deserted, and it’s also very empty.”If not for the lights turned on in the homes, I wouldn’t have known people lived here.“Don’t be scared, baby. I’m right here to protect you,” he reminded me, planting a kiss on my hand just as Samuel opened the door.“I know, but I’m just concerned. What does this place have to do with Serena?”“You’ll see,” was all he said as he led me out of the car toward a small, white-painted house.I glanced around the quiet surroundings, fighting back a shiver just as Damien p
