The Alpha King

Lona's POV

"Lona, put on this uniform." Uncle David's friend, Robert, the one who was in charge of the Alphas’ party, put the uniform into my arms, urging me to quickly put it on.

Before I could react, Robert was gone. He had too much to do and couldn't take the time to tell anything more, I could only rely on myself.

To be honest, even though I was a sophomore in college, while my friends had worked a lot, including serving at restaurants, I had never had a part time job. Mom was really overprotective of me. That was also the reason why when she heard that I was leaving the house, she was extremely worried.

She was a human, not a werewolf, she protected me the way a normal mother protected their special child.

The Alphas' r party was a big event that only happened once every five years, so Robert asked everyone to carefully prepare everything and let him double check before the event started.

Maybe I was the only sloppiness in this party.

As if thinking of something, Robert stopped and called out to another maid standing near him.

"Anna! Please take Lona to Alpha King's room so that she can rearrange the not-so-beautiful vase that you just arranged." Robert pointed at me.

Anna followed Robert's finger and looked at me. There was a hint of surprise on her face but she quickly regained her composure and bowed slightly to show she had understood.

"Mr. Robert, I see now, I will take her there."

Robert left satisfied.

As soon as Robert left, Anna's face immediately turned sour. she wouldn't be happy when I took her position.

As if remembering something, Robert turned and continued. "Let's teach Lona a few things so she can do the best job."

The party was about to start, Anna had no time to teach me anything. The "teach" in Robert's words was to follow me closely and didn't let me cause trouble.

I didn't know if Uncle David told Robert the purpose of my coming to this party or not, if Uncle David had told him then he would know that I would definitely spoil the party that he was carefully organized.

Looking at the decoration of the party, I couldn't help but sigh in my heart.

A grand party was held in the middle of the forest. The colorful chandeliers hanging down from the trees look very attractive.

Careful arrangement and the meticulousness of everything was Robert's passion to contribute to the success of this great event.

But maybe everything would be ruined by someone who suddenly appeared like me.

Of course I couldn't help Robert with anything, the best way to help him was not to cause any more trouble.

"Lona, you're Lona, right?" Anna walked over to me.

I nodded.

"I don't see you at the training sessions." Anna inquired. There were a lot of she-Wolves attending the training session, she wasn't sure if I was there either.

"Those days I was too tired to be present, but Robert gave me instructions on what to do." I lied.

I couldn't tell Anna that I had absolutely no idea what I needed to do but convince Alpha King to let me return to the wolf pack.

Actually, I was not completely ignorant. Robert gave me a maid's documentation. Of course I couldn't really be a good waiter by just relying on that but I would be careful not to make a silly mistake

I wanted to find a chance to meet Alpha King privately, so I wouldn't interfere with this party. Uncle David said that Alpha King would be at the party half an hour before the party started and would take a break in his room.

Of course, meeting the Alpha King was not easy.

Luckily, I had Robert’s help.

"Everything is ready, we just need to mentally prepare to receive Alpha King and the other Alphas." Anna said while leading me to the Alpha King’s room.

She clearly meant that I'd better do nothing. She didn't seem to want me to change the flowers that she had arranged.

That was fine, as long as she took me to Alpha King's break room I wouldn't do anything to make her feel uncomfortable.

Anyway, I was not here looking for a job.

I came here looking for a new life, a new life where I could be myself.

If I didn't do anything, I wouldn't make a mistake.

"Is the Alpha King coming soon?" I asked Anna.

"Yes, he'll be here in ten minutes." Anna frowned, it seemed she didn't want to talk to me.

Or rather, she hated me.

Alpha King arrived earlier than expected, so I would have more time.

"You have to take me there quickly, or it'll be late." I urged Anna.

"Didn't you change your clothes?" Anna pointed to the uniform in my hand.

"Not enough time." I shook my head.

Anna looked displeased, but she didn't say anything more.

She hated me and didn't want me to change her work but she did not dare to disobey Robert. She thought for a moment, then finally led me to the resting room they prepared for the Alpha King.

Alpha King loved flowers and luckily I had a talent for arranging flowers so there was a good reason for Robert to invite me here.

If I was punished by the Alpha King, perhaps Robert wouldn't be implicated.

As soon as I opened the door to the resting  room, I saw a beautiful flower vase lying on a small table in the middle of the room.

The flowerpot was very small but very attractive. Anna only used a bright red rose as the focal point, surrounded by a small stem and a few leaves.

It was a beautiful work.

I really appreciated Anna's talent and didn't want to destroy such a beautiful work but I had to do something, otherwise I wouldn't be able to stay in this room and wait until Alpha King came.

I approached the flower pot, gently moving a few leaves. Before I could do anything else, the door was flung open.

A loud voice spoke up.

"You two should go out."

"As soon as I turned around, I saw a group of people coming in. The person standing closest to me is a very tall man.”

I couldn't see his face clearly but was scared by his words.

"Mate."
