Rachel’s POV

I woke up with an excruciating pain in my head, my body aching, slowly, I opened my eyes.

Where am I?

The last thing I remembered was falling, no, being thrown from the balcony.

I jerked up from the bed, only to groan as a sharp pain shot through my ribs. My fingers clutching my sides.

This was my room, my little prison where I was kept for nine months and had Aaron's son.

Then, like a whisper in the back of my mind, I heard it again.

Mate.

I took in a deep breath, remembering the man who had caught me. His piercing gaze, the way his touch had sent a shiver down my spine, I didn’t understand it.

I shook my head. No. That didn’t make sense. Aaron was my mate. That’s what I had been told, what I had believed for years till he broke my heart to different pieces.

But why did my wolf call another man mate?

I didn’t have time to dwell on it. My heart clenched as I realized something was missing.

My child was still with Davina.

I scanned the room, my breath quickening, His cradle, his soft blankets—gone.

I threw the blanket around me off, ignoring the pain in my body as I stumbled out of bed.

The hallway was empty. I knew I had to be careful or else if Aaron caught me he might do something worse than he has already done.

With every step, memories of the betrayal replayed in my mind. Aaron’s cruel words. My mother’s slap. My father’s disgust. And Davina—smiling, holding my child like he was hers.

I clenched my fists, rage fueling me as I walked through the hallway quietly. I still couldn't believe Aaron would be so cruel to me and my parents—who had given birth to me -- were in support, it didn't matter how hard I tried to please them, they always found fault.

Carefully, I made my way down the hallways to Davina's room.

Peeking inside, I saw them.

Aaron stood near the window, his shirt loose, his sleeves rolled up. He laughed at something Davina said, pulling her into his arms. They looked so... comfortable, like they didn't just betray me and leave me to die.

Disgust curled in my stomach.

I hid quickly behind a statue as I saw Aaron coming out, he passed by without noticing me.

I inhaled deeply, my eyes scanning through the room, my eyes finally landing on the cradle beside his bed.

Suddenly he started crying, Davina ignored him taking a seat in front of the mirror, my body trembled in rage as the cries of my son filled the room.

Davina just sighed, rolling her eyes. “Ugh, be quiet, already,” she muttered, picking up a blanket and roughly throwing it over him.

Without thinking, I pushed the door open and lunged at her.

Davina gasped as I tackled her to the ground, my hands wrapping around her throat. “You dare,” I hissed, “treat my son like that?”

She struggled beneath me, her nails clawing at my skin. “He is my son now,” she spat. “Get away from me, you bitch.”

I slapped her hard on the face.

She let out a shriek, her eyes wide with shock. “You little—”

Before she could finish, I grabbed my son from the cradle, holding him tightly to my chest. His cries softened the moment he was in my arms.

“You and Aaron will regret everything,” I spat, holding up my son.

“Let's see who will regret anything,” she smirked suddenly, and she raked her claws across her own wrist, drawing deep, bloody gashes.

Then she screamed.

The doors burst open, sentinels rushing in.

“She tried to kill me!” Davina sobbed, clutching her wounded wrist. “She was trying to kidnap my child!”

“No!” I gasped, my heart pounding. “She’s lying!”

Aaron stormed into the room, his eyes filled with fury. He took one look at Davina—her fake tears, her bleeding wrist—then at me, holding the child.

“I have had enough of you, Rachel,” he growled. “You will not cause any more trouble.”

I took a step back, gripping my son tighter. “Aaron, please—”

He ignored me, turning to the sentinels. “Take her away. And this time... make sure she doesn’t come back.”

My blood ran cold.

“W-What?”

Aaron’s gaze was ice. “Take her to the execution field. Behead her.”

The sentinels dragged me outside, the cold air biting at my skin. My feet stumbled against the hard ground as I fought, but they were too strong.

The execution center was far from the palace and we were almost getting there.

Panic seized me.

I was going to die.

"Please!" I sobbed. "Please, don't do this!"

Seeing that my pleas meant nothing to them, I turned to the palace, rage flaring up through my veins.

“Curse to you, Aaron, may the moon goddess punish you for your crimes,” I cursed loudly.

Then a snarl cut through the air.

Everyone froze, our eyes scanning the dark.

“Fuck,” one of the guards cussed. “It's the night beast.”

“The night beast doesn't hunt in this area, stop joking with such evil things, let's just kill this bitch and be done with it,” another scolded him.

Before they could do anything again, the first sentinel that spoke, disappeared in an instant, faster than the blink of an eye.

I shouted in fear as blood spattered around the ground, the sentinels with me, left me, scanning the bushes.

Something dark and massive moved through the shadows.

A beast…the night beast..

A huge wolf, its fur black as the night, its fangs glistening with fresh blood.

The other sentinels tried to fight, but it was useless. The beast moved like a shadow, tearing them apart one by one until they were all gone.

Everywhere went silent except for my own heartbeat hammering loudly in my ears.

I stood frozen, my chest heaving.

The beast turned toward me, its glowing eyes locking onto mine.

I should have been terrified.

But I wasn’t.

The beast seemed familiar, I felt a connection and suddenly the beast morphed back into its human form.

And standing before me, stretching out his hand, was him.

The man who had saved me before.

The one my wolf had called mate.

His piercing gaze softened as he whispered,

“Two saves in one night,” he smirked, crouching down in front of me. “Come, come let's go home, Rachel.”

Author’s POVJoana sat at the far end of the grand hall, her eyes locked onto Rachel. Valtor stood close to her, his arm wrapped around her waist as if shielding her from the world. The sight made Joana’s hands tighten around her wine glass, her nails pressing so hard against the glass that she almost broke it."You’re doing it again," Cynthia’s voice snapped Joana out of her thoughts. She took a seat beside her, lazily swirling her wine. "Staring at Rachel like you want to set her on fire." Cynthia’s eyes roamed around the room. "You should be paying attention to the Alphas here tonight. So many powerful men, and yet you only have eyes for one."Joana ignored her, watching Valtor walk away with Ryan. “What are you even doing here? I thought you don't like attending such parties,” Cynthia asked, taking a sip of her wine. “I don't,” Joana replied coldly, turning to her. “I'm here for Ryan.”Cynthia nodded. “Ryan is indeed a bright boy, when he came to invite me, I was hesitant but a

Rachel’s POVSharon pulled on the laces of my dress as tightly as she could while Ashely fastened a silver necklace around my neck. I looked at myself in the mirror. The black gown hugged my body perfectly. It was sleeveless with a low neckline that made me feel both beautiful and exposed. My hair was in soft waves, and my lips were painted red.Ashley, standing on her tiptoes, clapped her tiny hands. “You look so pretty, mummy, like a princess.”Sharon smiled. “You look like a real Luna.”I forced a smile, trying to hide the tension building in my chest. My mind was still on Allen. It has been two days now and I still couldn’t believe that Allen was the beast, how could he be the beast? The same creature that had chased me through the mansion and nearly killed me in the woods. Something just doesn't add up. It would have made sense because Allen tried to kill Rachel once and that beast also wanted to kill me, so definitely it should make sense that they are the same person but Val

Valtor's POV The morning sunlight seeped through the curtains, casting soft golden streaks across the polished wooden floor. The maids moved around, bowing their heads in respect as I passed by.I inhaled deeply, trying to swallow my anger. As usual, Andy always somehow convinces Ashley to want something and Ashley on the other hand becomes a persistent person after he mind is set on something. I had a routine that I can never break even if someone was dying that was having my morning walks around the mansion but that changed after Ashley came into my life. It's always one excuse or another, and this time, it was about Rachel. I reached Rachel’s door and knocked lightly. “Rachel, wake up.”A few seconds passed before I heard slow, shuffling footsteps. The door creaked open, revealing Rachel in an oversized T-shirt and pajama shorts. Her hair was tangled, and she rubbed her eyes sluggishly.“What is it?” she mumbled, her voice thick with sleep.I inhaled deeply, tucking my hands i

Rachel’s POVI froze, locking eyes with the beast in my front. My hands went to my mouth before I could scream as I stumbled backward, my body shaking in fear. This wasn’t a dream, like I had hoped, this wasn’t just my mind playing tricks on me, it was real. The beast wasn't just an image in the mirror, it was as real as this earth's existence. "Run."That single word sent shivers down my spine before I even had time to think, my legs moved on their own, and I turned, sprinting toward the door. I struggled with the door knob for a while, when it finally opened I flung the door open without even turning back. The beast growled loudly, a deep, terrifying sound that made the hair on my arms stand up.I rushed out to the hallway, glancing around but there was no sign of anyone. I just had to keep running and hope that I bum into a sentinel. The hallway was dimly lit but I could still manage my way, running as fast as I could. My chest ached from how fast I was breathing."Help!" I

Rachel's POV A dull ache throbbed in my head as I slowly opened my eyes, rubbing my blurry eyes, the ceiling coming into view. This was definitely my room, how long have I been out? Before I could process what was happening, someone shouted. "Rachel, you idiot!" I flinched as Sharon’s voice filled the room, I slowly turned to her direction, she was standing beside the bed, her brows furrowed in concern and frustration. "How could you be so careless?" she demanded, leaning closer. "What were you thinking about losing guard when you were with Joana?" My eyes fell to the bed as I tried to remember what happened. Why the hell did I pass out? “What happened out there?” Sharon asked, her face etched with a mixture of curiosity and concern. I swallowed hard, my hand went to my throat, trying to clear my throat. "I… I don’t know," I admitted weakly. "One moment, she was talking, and the next, everything just went black." Sharon sighed, running a hand through her hair. "That

Valtor's pov. Rachel lay peacefully on the bed, her breath steady, I sat beside her, my hands curled into fists. How could she be so stupid to follow the one person I warned her against? What was she thinking? Why does she keep doing this too? I can't even step out of the house for a second without thinking of a million ways she could get herself in trouble. I rubbed my temples, taking in deep breaths as I stared at her tiny innocent face,I reached forward brushing a strain of hair from her face, my fingers tracing her face if they got to her lips. I didn't realize my lips were already spread as I caressed her lips, feeling the smoothness, trying to resist tasting every inch of her lips. The door creaked open, I gripped the bed sheets tightly, as my chest welled up in anger. I slowly turned to her, smoldering at her with the corner of my eyes. “Valtor,” she called, walking closer.Half of me wanted to rip Joana apart the second she walked into this room. I forced myself to take
