Chapter 4

"That's disgusting!" Jenna exclaimed, gagging between words.

Just before she shut the door, I clearly saw the love bite on her chest.

The moment Finn saw Jenna dash into the bathroom and start showering without a second thought, a smirk tugged at his lips, revealing his true colors.

"Tristan, I thought Jenna was in love with you. I didn't know you disgust her that much. She can't even let you touch her!

"I was worried she'd fallen for you. I guess I didn't have to worry after all. She was only interested in the connections you could offer her.

"Oh, you poor thing. You've loved her for ages, and she treats you like you're nothing. She can't even bear touching you."

My vision started to blur, and the searing pain made it hard for me to breathe. I had no choice but to beg Finn.

"I'm begging you. Please get the doctor here. I'm allergic to the medication, and now my wounds have reopened too. This could kill me!

"Can't you do this for Jenna's baby? The baby can't grow up without a dad!"

"Don't bother asking me. I hope your kid grows up without a dad!"

Finn snorted, as if something just came to mind. He covered his mouth in shock. "Oh, I forgot to tell you. Jenna was afraid I'd get jealous, so she didn't use your sperm for the IVF.

"The fact is, she didn't even go through with the procedure at all. She got pregnant after we slept together. She was afraid you'd find out the truth, so she pretended to agree to the IVF procedure."

My eyes widened in disbelief. "What did you just say?"

Finn folded his arms and sneered. "Since you don't have much longer to live, I don't mind telling you what really happened. You're such a fool. Jenna really had you fooled all this time, and you didn't even realize it."

He sat down and opened a game on his phone, as if he didn't have a care in the world. "Since you decided to file for a divorce, I'll let you live. Go press the emergency button yourself."

I gritted my teeth against the pain, using the last of my strength to crawl toward the emergency button and pressing it.

Finn burst into laughter as he filmed me dragging myself to the emergency button. He then sent the video to me.

"Oh, Tristan. Why are you so weak? This is hilarious. I just sent you a video. You can watch it yourself. You're welcome."

I glanced at my phone lying beside me. I had just received a video from an unknown number, and the number on the screen was the same one that sent me a video of Jenna in bed with another man yesterday.

All I could see was red. I wanted to say more, but I was already completely drained. My vision went black.

Just before I passed out, I heard the nurse hurry into the room. "Oh no! He's bleeding heavily! He needs surgery right away! Where's his family? I need them to sign the consent form now!"

Finn pretended to panic. "But his wife's still in the shower!"

The nurse banged impatiently on the bathroom door. "Your husband needs surgery! Get out here and sign the consent form now! How could you be taking a shower at a time like this?"

Jenna yelled furiously, "Get lost! I'm allergic to men, yet he insisted on grabbing me, and now I have disgusting fluid all over me. I'm swollen all over! I can't come out now!

"If you need someone to sign the papers, get Finn to sign on my behalf! It's just a minor injury, right? Tristan's not going to die. Stop bothering me!"

The nurse was exasperated. "Do you really think this is some kind of joke? You can't get someone else to sign for you!

"Only a family member can sign the consent form! Get out here now!"

There was no response. All we heard was the shower running.

My consciousness began to fade. At some point, I even thought I could see my unborn baby. They toddled toward me, and a sinister grin suddenly spread across their face.

"You're not my father! Die!"

As I drifted in and out of consciousness, I heard someone burst into the room, speaking frantically.

"I'll sign that form. I'm his fiancée. I'll take full responsibility for him. Please do whatever you can to save my fiancé. I don't want him suffering any permanent damage!"
