CHAPTER FIFTY TWO: THE FERAL ASSASSIN

Kayla’s POV

I let go of the control I held over the beast inside me and as the man quivered in front of me; I knew that my eyes must be glowing right now. He finally seemed to recognise what horror he was facing, but bad for him, it was too late. I smiled at him showing my sharp teeth and he flinched before raising his hand toward me shakily.

“Feral Assassin,” he mouthed in alarm, but no sound came out. Still, the words he breathed out seemed to ring in the silent forest, and the men who were holding me let go of my arms like they had been burnt.

That’s right. I am the Feral Assassin everyone has celebrated. They looked down on me because I was a woman, even when I proved myself time and time again. That’s why no one ever doubted that the Feral Assassin could be a woman. It was always ‘he’ for them. Well, the joke is on them.
