"NO!" I screamed, forgetting the pain in my ribs. Wriggling free from the men holding me, I hit the asphalt and crawled to her covering her body with mine as the men all looked on with disinterest, unsure what I could do if they decided to finish the job. "Mom? Talk to me, please tell me what I can do," the fact that she is a nurse isn't super helpful when she is the one who is hurt. "Someone help her! You have the wrong person! I dont know what you want but she is not who you are looking for! Her name is Sara, Sara Thompson! Please she is going to die if you dont help her!" My words fell on deaf ears as the men looked down at us. The only sound I heard was laughter coming from the large man who had just stabbed my mother. "Ha! Sara? Really? Out of all of the names you could have chosen you picked one that sounds so similar to your own? You truly did not try hard enough to hide, maybe you wanted to be found. You knew you could not win, but I appreciated the game. It has been ages since I have had a good chase so thank you for that." He chuckled to himself with a satisfactory grin plastered on his face. My mom grabs my hand and wraps it around the handle of the knife urging me to remove it. I slowly removed the blade from her chest and her breathing grew weaker, blood soaked our clothes as I held my hand against the wound. "I am begging you, please help her. I will do whatever you want just please dont let her die" I cried to the men surrounding us, hoping one of them would give in and find pity on me. "Anything?" The man asked with a glimmer of amusement on his face as his smile creeped across his face and I swear I saw it again, long sharp teeth peaking out from under his lip ."Is that a deal you dare to make girl?" Before I could answer I felt my mom move beneath me, fighting against me to try to sit up. "No, she is not making a deal with you. Not now not ever" my mother whispered as she struggled to pull herself up from the ground. "Mom...Stop! You're bleeding, we need to get you to a hospital now! Somebody help!" I screamed panic seeping through my words as my head whipped around, pain echoing through me urging me to stop moving so much, but the thought of losing my mother was the only thing driving me forward. Again the man laughed. "You really do ruin my fun Clara, she is fine girl, she will live. It may take her a bit longer to heal than it would have had she been home with her own kind, but she will not die. Now, we must be going, I don't have all day and this little game youve forced me to play has already caused enough of a stir that it will take my men ages to clean it up." He snapped, his face contorting into a flash of anger that turned into mild annoyance. "You are no longer welcome to come home." He was pointing at my mother who flinched at the sudden hand movement. As a kindness we will not kill your chosen partner or your spawn, but know should the need arise we know who and where they are and will not hesitate to eradicate them." Although I don't quite understand everything happening here, the message was clear. I am going with the strange brute and if I don't, my family dies...Alexander I can feel her heart pounding as I grip her wrist tighter. I pull her closer to me and feel her perfect breasts pressed against me. She smells clean like honeysuckle and spring water. Her stormy eyes meet mine as King Elirond speaks behind her, though I can not seem to catch what he is saying I am too enthralled by the woman infront of me. I have to admit hearing her distaste for me already makes me bite back a sly smile. She has fire, she seems nothing like the sycophants back home who would do anything to be in my bed. Not that they had much of a choice being that I was "blessed" as my father says. When looking into my eyes women fall madly in love with me, more like lust. The feelings aren't true and fade with time once they are no longer in my presence. I learned that the hard way one too many times, never again. Lost in thought my grip loosens, she wriggles free and stumbles backwards. "Sorry to disappoint, but I won't be marrying anyone, so you'll have to go find s
Calliope "That doesn't explain why I am here, and if you loved her so much why would you let your pregnant wife just up and leave?" The dots still weren't quite connecting and I am determined to find out. "Yes I apologize. I forgetyou know nothing of our ways. When you make a bargain with a Fae it is binding on both ends until death. If either side is broken both parties will die. Very few creatures still dare to make these deals knowing it comes at such high a cost, but in the event that a deal with struck, it can not be undone. Your mother knew this and risked everything for it. Her request was simple enough, she asked to be released for her marital bonds so she could live out her days in the human world. This angered me so I obliged under one condition, that she provide an heir and on their 20th birthday they would rule beside me. To this she agreed rather quickly. Out of spite I decided that as part of this bargain she would never be permitted to return. She asked if that was
Calliope "No, I-no that's not true. My father's name is John Thompson and you are definitely NOT him. I don't know what game you're playing or what you think you're going to get out of this lie, but I'm done." I search around the room for a weapon and land on a large carving knife on the table. I lunge for it and hold it out in front of me ready to defend myself if I have to. "Now just let me go and we can all pretend this never happened." I say, slowly backing away towards the door we came in from. The man claiming to be my father looks at me like hes disappointed with my reaction. Yeah I bet dude, I don't plan on sitting idly by while you shove lies down my throat, and to what end? What was his end game here? Whatever it is I don't give a flying fuck, mother has clearly given up on me so I guess i'll just have to save myself. "Calliope, I speak the truth. Twenty years ago your mother and I were arranged to be married to produce an heir for the throne. The previous heir died tra
Elirond This nectar wine tastes especially bitter, so I have one of the kitchen staff bring us a new bottle. Everything has to be perfect before she arrives. I hear a familiar sound coming down the hallway outside the dining hall doors that makes me stand, preparing for our guest of honor. As the doors open I see a face that looks much like my own staring back at me in a long green dress, much the same as the one her mother wore the day she left my court. Though her features are more human in nature due to the unfortunate glammer she still wears, her mothers doing im sure, there is no mistaking her place as a part of the Fae. Her bright red hair tied back in a low pony tail, with sparkling green eyes the color of the vines that cover the kingdom. Her skin a much darker tone than that of her mother or I giving her the illusion of having been out in the sun. I see on her feet the source of that once familiar sound, a pair of ratty sneakers adorn her feet making me chuckle to myself, h
Calliope"You know my mother?" I asked, confused by her familiarity. "Of course, she was my ward for many years before she married your father. She was such a wonderfully intelligent woman, with a crackling wit and more beautiful than a water lilly in Spring . I have never forgiven myself for what happened between them and I will do what I can to protect you from the same fate." She reached out her hand to caress my cheek in such a tender way tears started to spill from my eyes until I was full on sobbing from the stress of everything that had happened in the last 24 hours. She pulled me into a tight hug and it felt so comforting. Once I had finally found the ability to breathe again I found myself with one burning question. "You said you knew her when she married my father, does he know I'm here? Do you know if him and my brother are ok?" She looked like at me like she was wanting to say something, but decided against it. "Please, bathed and put on some clean clothes and meet
Calliope "She has not yet awoken, I can bring her to your room when she is properly dressed if you would like ma'am" I hear a woman say. As I open my eyes I see what looks like a large room filled with green and gold accents everywhere, the floor and walls are covered in what looks like carpeted moss. The bed im on has a large gold canopy ontop of four tall wooden posts. As I stare at the ceiling I see small lights twinkling, almost moving. The sheets are the softest thing iv ever felt and the mattress feels like a thousand clouds and I never want to leave, but eventually my curiosity wins out. I brace myself for the pain as I swing my legs over the side but im pleasantly surprised to find that I feel fine. I am grateful that whatever pain relief I was given has yet to wear off because I know when it comes back its going to feel like I was hit by a train. Once I make it to my feet I start to creep closer to the voices behind the large wooden double doors to listen more carefully.
