The phone Santiago held in his trembling hands slipped and crashed to the floor.

Renata raised her head from the pillow now soaked with her tears. She was taken aback to see Santiago in a state of shock and despair.

“Tiago?” She called out to him with a shaky voice, but he only stared blankly at her.

He turned immediately and ran out of the room.

“Tiago!” She yelled his name, but that didn’t bring him back into the room.

She yanked off the duvet from her body and got out of bed. But as she sto

“Let me go!” “Let me down!”Renata continued to kick her legs back and forth, but Domingo was so determined that he paid her no attention. He headed straight to her room. When he got in, he carefully let her on the floor, making sure she was okay before he dashed to the door.He locked the door and dangled the keys in the air.“Now it’s just us. You’ve got to do as I say.” He said, and walked slowly to where she stood with a scowl.“You’ve got to be kidding me,” she scoffed.“Well, you my darling will have to sit down and listen to me. Why are you so difficult?”“You think I’ve got nothing to say?”Renata had snapped out of reality as Domingo went on and on trying to convince her to listen to him.All she did was stare at his lips as they moved. Then her eyes traveled to his arms, they had gotten larger and firmer, she couldn’t help but try to remember how he pulled her back last night which prompted her to doze off on his muscled chest.“Are you even listening to anything I’ve been

“What are you doing here?” Renata leaned against the door frame, blocking the passage and with her arms crossed around her chest.“We have to talk,” Domingo replied.“Talk?” “And who told you I have anything to say to you?” She scoffed, running her eyes from his face to his neatly polished burgundy shoes.“Well, I do.” He said flatly.“And I don’t, so leave before I raise an alarm.” She threatened. He heaved a deep sigh, but he wasn’t going to give up. He knew that was what Renata wanted, she wanted him to leave so she would blame him all over for the mistakes he had done in the past.“Even if you don’t want to talk to me as your husband, could you at least talk to me like the father of our unborn baby?” He asked calmly. The clustered butterflies in her belly suddenly scampered into different directions immediately he said that to her.She wanted to smile… she wanted to fall into his arms again, but something somehow kept her rooted to the ground.“Domingo, there’s no us and there’s

After Renata turned to leave, the tension in the courthouse hallway didn’t fade, it thickened.Renata’s heels clicked sharply against the polished floor as she walked away, her spine stiff, her chest rising and falling like she was holding back a storm. Behind her, whispers followed… low, curious, judgmental. She ignored all of it.Domingo didn’t. He stood there for a moment, watching her retreating figure, his jaw tight, his hands curled into fists at his sides. Something had shifted in her. Not just anger, this was deeper… colder and dangerous.Across the hall, Santiago paused mid-step, his gaze lingering on Renata longer than he intended and Constanza noticed.“Don’t,” she muttered under her breath, tightening her grip on his arm.Santiago didn’t respond immediately. His eyes narrowed slightly, calculating, before he finally tore his gaze away.“Let’s go,” he said flatly. The drive to the company was silent, the atmosphere was filled with the tension of unspoken words. He could no

Renata paced her room with the gathered documents in her hands, she went through them a million times, making sure she had not made a mistake somewhere. The information was vivid, and so was the signature and name underneath it. Only two parties signed the documents, Santiago and his doctor. She was confused about when he had gotten the vasectomy surgery done.Without wasting further time, she flipped through the pages of the documents one more time… and there it was.It was dated two weeks after their wedding. She thought hard about it and how possible it was.Santiago had given several excuses for traveling out of the country for meetings and conferences, he might have gotten the surgery done during those times.“This is unbelievable,” she shook her head, threw them on her bed, and went to grab her phone from the bedside table. Her fingers hovered over the phone screen trying to come to a final decision of who to call, she was going to take legal actions against Santiago for not in

“Congratulations, Miss Renata Castell, you are two weeks pregnant,” the doctor beamed with a smile as she handed the paper over to me.She stared at her blankly, but received the paper, refusing to believe that she was pregnant and she knew who had the baby.“Th… thank you.” Renata stuttered, finally glancing at the paper in her hand. She left the hospital with mixed feelings. She pondered on some questions which bothered her.How was she pregnant this whole time and she didn’t realize it?It had to take a lady from the store to notice it, because if she had not mentioned it, she wouldn’t have taken the pregnancy test.Renata headed straight home with the thoughts about her pregnancy all over the place. She knew she had only one option, which was to abort the baby. She was never going to birth a child for man who cleaned up the murder of her parents so that his ex-wife and son would live a normal life while she struggled with inferiority complex, debts and mental breakdowns which ofte

When all the chaos had died down, and Renata had convinced Nina’s parents to sign the death certificate of their daughter, the funeral was done swiftly because it was believed that Nina was a young woman who had only just started experiencing life.At her funeral, Constanza and Santiago didn’t pay a visit, but she later heard from the cemetery guard that they came to place flowers at her tomb. The only person that honoured Nina was Domingo. And on that day, he had seen hershe made a drastic move and that was moving back to New York with Liam. That morning, she woke up tired with a headache that threatened to split through her head. She headed to the living room which had an open plan kitchen. She opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water which she drowned in seconds.“Ahhh… this doesn’t help,” she shook her head as she stared at the empty bottle in her hand. She tossed the empty can of water into the recycling bag and headed upstairs where she heard Liam crying.“Hey little on
