“Please… Constanza wants to take him away from me,” Nina continued to plead.Renata couldn’t hold the tears back any longer. She kicked Nina away from holding her legs and she ran through the park and crossed the busy road.She flagged down a taxi and hurriedly entered without sparing her best friend a glance.“Please just drive,” she said to the driver who turned to look at her, wondering why she was crying.The driver drove off quietly. He would steal glances at her from the rearview mirror, he had to adjust it to look at her face at some point.“Are you okay, Ma’am?” He asked, looking at her through the mirror.She didn’t reply. She only stared out the window, the tears pouring no matter how she tried to sniff them back.“Please stop the car,” she tapped the headrest of the driver.The driver obeyed and stopped the car. From the car’s compartment, he took out a small box of tissues and handed it over to her.“I can step out if you want,” he smiled at her.“Thank you,” she mumbled.

Nina looked over her shoulder a thousand times as she made sure no one was watching her.She searched for her phone in her bag which was on the table. Her hands trembled as she took out the phone and redialed Renata’s number.The phone rang on the other end, but Renata didn’t pick up the call. Just then, the waitress walked up to where she sat with a paper in her hand.“Excuse me, Ma’am. What would you like to have?” She smiled at Nina who shook her head without raising her eyes to see who was talking to her.“Nothing, I’m fine.” She mumbled, still with her head down and her eyes sharp and wandering.The backlight of her phone came on and it was Renata. She sent a text telling Nina that some men were watching her and that she needed to leave the cafe immediately, but to act naturally.She grabbed her bag, holding it tightly she walked slowly to the door, but through the corner of her eyes she could see the men staring at her intently.She walked out naturally as Renata had instructed.

The next morning, Domingo instructed the servants to take care of Renata. He had hidden her away in one of his private homes, he made sure it was a safe place where neither Santiago nor Constanza had an idea of.He sat in the back of the black SUV which drove him straight to the Hidalgo estate. Constanza had sent him a text, noting that it was urgent and important.When he got to the house, Nina was seated and so were Santiago and Constanza.
