ANDREA

Huh?

"And why can't she wear it?" Lexis asked, hands on her waist like she was getting ready for a fight.

"The dress, it's too...much." she said, almost too quietly.

"And how is it your concern?" Lexis asked again, this time her hands were folded on her chest... making her boobs push up in an intimidating manner.

"No, I... it's just that the dress isn't like her usual style" Lia said, stuttering as Lexis walked towards her in slow steps.

"It's fine" I sighed for the millionth time today, "it's not like I'll walk around like this, I'm wearing a hoodie over it" I said finally, waiting for Lexis reaction.

"No you're not!!!" She ran towards me and held my shoulder with nervousness in her eyes.

"Yes I am. It's the only way I'm walking out of this room" I smiled sweetly at her nervous face.

After a back and forth, we finally left and I got to wear my hoodie after winning a game of rock paper scissors.

Smiling triumphantly, I drove the car silently as Lexis pouted in the passenger's seat.

Lia was at the back, her eyes glued to her phone. Her white flowy dress and blonde fitting her angelic figure perfectly.

"Who wears all white dress to a night party?" Lexis mumbled under her breath and I shaked my head in resignation.

The evening breeze blew through the opened windows, my wavy black hair getting all over the place because I refused to style it or even do makeup.

Lexis was furious that I was going to a party without doing my makeup but makeups aren't just my thing.

Driving down the familiar concrete road, the car came to a stop in front of a luxurious villa.

"Let's go!!" Lexis screamed excitedly as she hurriedly got down before I could even properly park the car.

Getting down, I glaced at the cars parked in the parking lot and I didn't see the familiar car I was looking for. I was relieved but also disappointed.

"Let's go in" I motioned for Lia to follow me.

Walking towards the door I noticed Lexis standing there with her mouth wide open.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I followed her gaze towards the living room.

I felt my heart thump loudly in my chest.

The living room was empty, save for the decorations and drink everywhere. There was a big banner that read 'Congratulations on your graduation, Andy'.

In the middle of the living room was a man, standing tall with a wine glass between his long fingers.

His face cold but as soon as his eyes met mine, a smile visibly spread across his very handsome face.

His dark brown hair was sleeked back, his long lashes flutters in the evening breeze. His black suit trouser accentuating his long legs.

He watched me carefully with his dark brown eyes and I gulped. He was the definition of a greek God.

"Hey, sunshine!" He called... his voice was as dreamy as I remembered, his hands spread open as he smiled at me.

"It's Andrea not sunshine" I blushed, my face turning red as I walked into his arms and I could feel my leg weaken as he wrapped them around my waist.

It's been almost a year since I saw him, he was more busier than my brother. You had to buy tickets to see him. Literally.

Glaring at Lexis from the corner of my eyes, she smiled at me nervously and she mouthed 'I didn't know' before dragging Lia upstairs with her.

My heart was beating loudly in my chest that I was scared he would hear it.

"Uhhm..." I stuttered as I pushed him lightly.

"We haven't seen each other in like what...a year, and you wouldn't even hug me for a few minutes?" He grumbled, "You used to follow me everywhere when you were younger, Sunshine." He chuckled and I could feel the deep rumbling from his chest and I practically melted.

"No I did not" I denied hurriedly.

He laughed and finally let me go after patting my head.

"I'm not a child" I pouted.

"Yeah, you're not. You're a big girl now" he said, putting down his wine glass. "You didn't even tell me you were graduating." He added, staring at me deeply.

"You were busy and I didn't want to disturb you" I said, glancing at everywhere that wasn't his face.

I could feel his gaze in the now quiet living room, it was penetrating.

"What are you wearing?" He asked and I froze in shock.

"Uhh..a dress?" I answered like he was blind.

"That's not what I meant. Why are you wearing a hoodie?" He asked again.

"Just because" I shrugged.

"You never change" he sighed, shaking his head.

Ignoring him, I walked to the table he dropped his wine glass and picked it up, downing the remaining drink in the glass like it was water.

Cough cough!!!

I coughed loudly, holding my chest as my eyes become watery with tears.

"Why is it so strong?" I asked him with tears in my eyes.

"Because it isn't for you" he answered as he cupped my face, cleaning my tears with his left thumb.

"You should have warned me!!" I huffed in annoyance.

"Like I knew you were going to drink it like that" he retorted.

"Shit, I feel sleepy all of a sudden" I said suddenly and he laughed quietly.

"Such a lightweight" he mumbled before picking me up in a bridal style and walking up the stairs.

Yelping in surprise, I said "What do you think you're doing?"

"Taking you to bed?" He answered in a questioning tone.

"Why? What about the party?" I asked drowsily.

"The party starts at seven, so you have just two hours to sleep" He said as he pushed a door open and gently laid my on the bed.

I heard the door close and the side of the bed dipped from his weight.

"Are you comfortable sleeping in this or should I call Lexis to change you out of it?" He asked, touching the hem of my dress.

"I'm fine" I replied sleepily.

I didn't hear any other thing after that but I could feel his soft touch and caress on my face as he brushed my hair back with his fingers.

His touch was enough for me to drift off to sleep without a care in the world.

"Never get drunk in front of anyone that isn't me..." was the last thing I heard before I gave in to sleep.

  • IN LOVE WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S BROTHER    Chapter 66

ANDREA Opening my eyes felt like lifting a mountain. Everything was blurry at first, bright lights shaping into white ceilings and pale walls. It took me a moment to understand where I was…a hospital room. I frowned weakly. The last thing I remembered was collapsing by the side of the road. I didn’t remember anyone finding me. I didn’t even remember being brought here. My head throbbed as I slowly turned it to the side. That was when I noticed someone sitting on the chair next to the bed, their head resting on their folded arms. Sleeping, or maybe passed out from exhaustion. I blinked a few times, trying to focus. Messy hair. Shoulders slumped. A rough, unshaven beard covering a face I knew too well. Dark eye bags, like he hadn’t slept in days. Alex. A small breath escaped me, shaky and confused. He looked nothing like the sharp and put together man I knew. He looked worn out, almost broken, like he had been fighting the world and loosing. He was right there beside me…like he

  • IN LOVE WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S BROTHER    Chapter 65

ALEXANDER I drove like a man possessed, not slowing down for a second until I saw the bright lights of the hospital ahead. My heart was hammering so hard I could barely breathe. The moment I reached the entrance, I didn’t even bother to park properly. I just threw the car door open and jumped out. The engine was still running when I sprinted through the sliding doors, my chest tight and my legs feeling like they could give out any second. “Where is she?” I shouted at the nurse behind the counter. “Andrea Dale! They just brought her in!” The nurse looked startled, flipping through a few papers before answering quickly. “She’s in the emergency room. They’re treating her right now...” I didn’t wait for her to finish. I ran down the hall, my shoes pounding against the floor, following the signs that pointed toward the emergency ward. When I reached the door, I was about to push it open when a nurse stepped in front of me, holding out her hands. “Sir, you can’t go in there,” she said

  • IN LOVE WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S BROTHER    Chapter 64

ANDREA I pushed myself up slowly, my legs shaking under me. Every muscle in my body ached, but I knew I couldn’t stay there. The thought of being found by them again sent a wave of panic through me. I had to move, even if I didn’t know where I was going. The ground was cold and rough under my bare feet. Every step stung as small stones and twigs dug into my skin, but I kept going. I wrapped my arms around myself, shivering from both the cold and the fear crawling up my spine. The forest was silent except for the faint sound of crickets and the crunch of leaves under my feet. The air smelled damp, like rain and soil. Every shadow looked alive, every rustle made me flinch. I kept glancing over my shoulder, half expecting to see someone behind me. I didn’t know which direction I was heading. I just walked, moving through the darkness with my heart pounding hard enough to echo in my chest. Sometimes I tripped over roots or stumbled into branches, scratching my arms, but I didn’t s

  • IN LOVE WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S BROTHER    Chapter 63

ANDREA A sharp pain exploded through my stomach, knocking the air out of me. I gasped and curled up, clutching my side as tears burned my eyes. The pain was unbearable, spreading through my already bruised body like fire. I forced my eyes open, blinking through the blur of tears. My vision was hazy at first, but then I noticed someone, a small figure standing right in front of me. She wasn’t one of the men I’d seen before. This person was shorter, her build slimmer. She wore a black gown that clung to her frame and black heels that clicked lightly against the concrete floor. Her face was covered by a mask, hiding her features completely, but I could still feel her eyes on me. I tried to speak, but only a weak sound came out. My throat felt dry and raw, my voice barely a whisper. The woman didn’t say a word. She just stood there, staring down at me like I was nothing. My heart pounded in fear. Who was she? Why was she here? I tried to crawl backward, but my body wouldn

  • IN LOVE WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S BROTHER    Chapter 62

ANDREA Opening my eyes groggily, I felt a banging pain in my head that made everything spin. My body ached all over, every muscle screaming with pain. For a few seconds, I couldn’t even remember what had happened or where I was. The air smelled strange, damp and musty, like old walls and dust. When I tried to move, a sharp pain shot through my side and I gasped. My wrists burned where the ropes had rubbed my skin raw, and my stomach felt sore, each breath hurting more than the last. I blinked slowly, forcing my blurry vision to focus on my surroundings. This place looked different. Smaller. Darker. The floor was rough concrete and the walls were bare, with cracks running through them. There was no window this time, only a weak, flickering bulb hanging from the ceiling, giving off just enough light for me to see an old chair and a few broken boxes in one corner. That was when it hit me...they had moved me again. My heart started racing. I turned my head quickly, looking aroun

  • IN LOVE WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S BROTHER    Chapter 61

ALEXANDER I was in the hospital corridor, barking orders into my phone. My voice echoed through the hallway, sharp and rough from exhaustion. “Search the entire area where they found her,” I said, pacing back and forth. “Every corner, every house, every damn tree. I don’t care how long it takes, just find something! Anything!” “Yes, sir,” one of my men replied quickly before I hung up. I leaned against the wall, breathing heavily. My eyes burned from staying awake all night, but I didn’t care. Andrea was still out there. That was all that mattered. Hours passed like days. The quiet hum of the hospital made the wait worse. Everyone looked drained. Lexi sat in the corner with her head in her hands. Andrew stood by the door, silent but tense. Mr. Dale kept muttering prayers under his breath. Then finally, the doctor came out and said softly, “She’s awake now.” We all rushed in. Kate was sitting up weakly, her eyes swollen and her lips dry. The moment she saw us, she broke
