EMILY

I didn't expect to be woken up that morning with a knock so aggressive that it rattled my bones. I had barely finished feeding my son, when Williams barged into my room without waiting for permission. His eyes were cold, distant -nothing like the eyes of the man I was living with.

"Williams, what is it?" I asked, trying to mask the unease crawling up my spine.

He didn't speak. He just dropped a white envelope on the bed beside me and folded his arms.

"What's this?" I picked it up with trembling fingers, slowly tearing it open. The second I read the header, I felt my stomach clench.

"DIVORCE PAPERS"

"I'm done," he said calmly, almost too calmly. "Sign it, Emily."

I stared at him, blinking fast. "Williams, you can't be serious...our baby...your son is barely three months-"

"He's not my son!" he thundered, his voice shattering the quiet of the room. "You keep making this difficult. You slept with someone else and tried to pass that child off as mine."

Tears rushed to my eyes befor

  • IN LOVE WITH MY STEPSON   Chapter 98 Unwelcome hands

SASHAToday was supposed to be exciting. My first official day as a trained masseuse. I had gone through weeks of learning—watching, practicing, even studying human anatomy more than I ever thought I would. I was nervous, but ready.Mr. Marcelo Adrian gave me a smile in the hallway before I entered the spa room. "You’ll do great," he said calmly.Inside, the rooms buzzed quietly. Calm music played in the background, the scent of eucalyptus and lavender drifting through the air.Rita, the head of the masseurs, looked up from the front desk as a well-dressed man in his middle thirties walked in. He wore a sharp navy suit and designer shoes, and from the way he carried himself, it was obvious he was used to attention.“Good morning, Mr. Daniel,” Rita said with a polite smile. “Good to see you again.”“I would like my usual massage,” he said, ignoring Rita's greetings. “And I want you to do it.”Rita glanced at me. “Sasha will be attending to you today Sir. She’s just completed her traini

SASHAI didn’t have much when I left Williams’ house—just a few clothes, my documents, and pain sitting deep in my chest. But I found a small apartment on the edge of town. It wasn’t anything fancy—just a tiny one-bedroom with squeaky windows and a leaking tap in the kitchen. But it was mine. Quiet, simple, safe. After days of searching, I got a job at a local spa—DRIOS SPA AND RELIEFS, not as anything fancy, just as their temporary accountant. Numbers weren’t new to me. I had handled budgets, bills, and balances before. It paid enough to cover my rent and feed me, and for now, that was enough. But every time I finished my work and looked up from the dusty desk, I found myself watching the spa therapists. Their movements were calm, almost graceful. There was something soothing about the way they spoke to clients, worked on tired backs, helped people breathe again."Thank you Miss Rita. Your hands work like magic" I watched customers thank Rita, head of masseurs and I wished I could b

  • IN LOVE WITH MY STEPSON   Chapter 96 What felt like comfort

WILLIAMSI was sitting alone in the living room that evening, the silence in the house louder than any noise. My mind kept drifting back to Jayden — his laughter, his smile. And now… nothing. The doorbell rang, breaking my thoughts. I walked slowly to the door and opened it. Ivy stood there, her face full of sympathy."I'm sorry," she said quietly, stepping in when I moved aside." It's okay." I managed to speak as it wasn't a nice day to exchange pleasantries. She sat, folding her hands in her lap. “I blame myself for what happened to your son,” she whispered.I shook my head. “No. Don’t do that. It was between Sasha and me. We lost control.”"I shouldn't have prepared the lunch. I felt I could help, since...""I have told you, Ivy. Stop taking the blames. None of this is your fault." I interrupted her while she maintained a sober mood. She looked at me, her eyes soft. “Have you eaten anything today?”“Eaten you say? No appetite,” I muttered. “What’s food when my child is gone?”"I

  • IN LOVE WITH MY STEPSON   Chapter 95 Shattered silence

SASHAThe car ride to the hospital was a blur. All I could hear was the thudding of my heart and Jayden’s faint breathing in my arms. Williams drove like a mad man, honking, swerving, shouting, but none of it mattered. My baby wasn’t saying a word. His tiny head had hit the tiled floor, and he had become unconcious and hadn’t moved or cried like he usually did when he fell.We burst into the hospital, yelling for help. Nurses rushed forward, taking Jayden from me. My dress and his were soaked in his own blood and I felt my knees go weak. I wanted to scream, but nothing came out. Williams was pacing, running his hands through his hair, looking like he might lose it.I kept pacing like a woman who was possessed, my heart skipped beats and my hands couldn't stop trembling. I couldn't say a word. All I could do was mutter prayers under my breath like chants. My little Jayden was in there, fighting for his life because of our carelessness. "If anything happens to him," Williams suddenly s

  • IN LOVE WITH MY STEPSON   Chapter 94 The breaking point

SASHAI had just picked Jayden up from school, and as I stepped out of the car with him, the warm scent of chicken soup greeted us at the door. My stomach rumbled. It smelled good—rich, seasoned… inviting. I smiled, a little relieved. Maybe Williams had finally done something thoughtful.I walked into the house and found him already seated at the dining table, happily eating.“Hmmm… someone’s cooking skills just upgraded,” I teased, dropping my bag on the couch as Jayden trailed behind me. “This smells too good to be yours.”Williams chuckled without looking up. “That’s because it’s not mine.”I paused. “Wait, what?”“Ivy made it,” he said casually. “She came around earlier and offered to cook.”I froze. Literally. The spoon I had just picked up slipped from my fingers and clattered against the plate, splattering soup.“I don't get it... Wait, you let Ivy into this house?” I asked, stunned.“She just came to help. Relax,” Williams said, still chewing.“Relax?” I shot up from the chair

  • IN LOVE WITH MY STEPSON    Chapter 93 Nothing but regret

JULIUSDinner time in prison always had the same feel—cold, loud, rushed. But today, it felt heavier than usual. Maybe it was because of how long I had been here. Or maybe it was because for the first time in my life, I was finally beginning to feel the weight of all I had done. The guards shouted, and all of us started walking slowly to the dining hall. Chains dragged on the floor, and no one spoke unless it was to curse or complain. I limped my way forward, my body now far from what it used to be. My skin had gone pale, my belly that once showed pride was gone, and my hair—what was left of it—had turned completely grey. My hands were weak, and my legs ached all the time. I looked like someone who had given up. Maybe I had.I sat at the far end of the dining table, as usual. That corner had become my spot over the past few years. I looked around and saw other prisoners eating without a care. Fights sometimes broke out during dinner, but tonight, everyone seemed quiet.Soon, the kitch
