CHAPTER FIVE

MMA'S POV,

He has the aura of great exposure, he is the pure definition of royalty, I couldn't stop myself from admiring him, I didn't fail to notice the seductive gaze of the maidens at him but on a second note, I knew he is someone with high ego judging from his attitude earlier on.

"I always know our prince is good-looking but no one told us he is this handsome" one of my roommate said from her corner.

"Common what do you expect from someone who has been in the white man's land half of his life, he is not like any of us here, he is very much exposed than us" my other roommate said.

"My only prayer right now is to be among his personal maids, getting the previledge to touch any of his belongings will be more than a blessing to me" the initiator of the conversation said as I almost scoffed.

"Keep dreaming, his presence alone frightens me talk more of being one of his personal maids, I don't pray to be in such position" the other maid said as I slowly left the room.

       ***************************

I entered the kitchen as I met Osondu and two other chef preparing lunch.

"Ah see who we have here" Osundu said as he walked towards me.

"You came at the right time, I made something unusual today, something new, actually the prince demanded for it, I want you to have a taste of it" he said as he led me towards the cooking table in the center of the kitchen. He went towards the pot and scooped out a little portion of the food into a plate and gave to me.

The delicious aroma of the food hit my nose as I couldn't wait to savour the taste.

"Wow this is really delicious" I confessed with my eyes closed while trying to enjoy the full feel of the delicacy in my mouth.

"Really? Then try this one" he said as he placed another plate of food before me.

"I guess this will taste good too, it really looks enticing" I said as I dipped my spoon into the food.

The voice of Miss Margaret interrupted us as I hastily stood up to leave the kitchen.

"Stop there" I stopped immediately at the voice of the head maid.

"What's your name?" She asked as I was already shivering in fear.

"My name is Mma ma" I replied as sweats was already forming on my forehead.

"You will help serve the prince his lunch" she said as she faced the chefs as though I was no longer in the room.

"Osondu this is almost lunchtime and I'm sure you won't want to keep the prince waiting" Miss Margaret said as she turned to leave the kitchen.

"I'm almost through" Osondu said at the exiting figure of Miss Margaret.

I heaved a sigh of relief when she left the kitchen.

"Oh no , another problem" I said inaudibly.

"Are you okay, you seem tensed" one of the chefs who has been silent since I was in the kitchen asked.

"I have never served any food to the Royal family before talk more of the prince, how am I to go about this now?" I asked in a disturbed tone as Osondu patted my back.

"Look this is not hard as you think it is, it is just a normal way of serving food no much protocols, okay I will help you out" Osondu said as I  looked up at him in silence.

"Really, will you do that for me?" I asked still surprised.

"Yes I will, after all Miss Margaret met you here because I insisted on you tasting the meals so I feel guilty too" he said as he started dishing out the foods on different plates.

"All you have to do is to help me carry this tray while we follow behind with other things, right Kyle?" He asked as he looked at the chef who spoke to me earlier.

"Yes, take this" he handed a tray containing plates to me.

Entering into the dining room, I almost tripped at the magnificent view I met, everything was purely gold ranging from the seats to the table.

"Look, no one is here, so we just have to set the table and wait" Osondu said as he kept the tray of food he was holding on the table before collecting mine.

The table was set in no time as we stand few steps away from the table.

He walked into the dinning room almost unnoticed, the amazing sight I met almost made me swallowed hard in silence, this was the first time I was able take in his appearance, his sense of dressing was totally different from that of other prince I've heard about.

"Osondu what took you so long" he said interrupting my thoughts as he sat down on one of the seats. I didn't failed to notice his shirt which was slightly unbuttoned.

"My prince I wanted to make the meal special and that took me alot of time" Osondu replied as I noticed a slight smile on the prince face which was gone almost immediately.

He digged his spoon into the food as we all bowed our head. The sudden sound of a dropped spoon made us to look up.

"What is this?" The prince asked as he stood up and points at the food.

"I made it the way you told me my prince" Osondu replied with visible fear on his face.

"You want to kill me? You want me to eat this?" He asked emphasizing his last words.

I couldn't stop to imagine if he was talking about the same food I tasted earlier, although I haven't eaten something of such before but the food was really delicious.

"But I tasted the food and it was okay" I said almost like a whisper to Osondu as he gave me the eyes to keep quiet.

"What did you said?" I was shocked for a moment as to if I were the one the prince was referring to.

"My prince, she said nothing" Osondu said as he shoot me the eyes of ' I told you'

"Osondu I'm not talking to you, is she dumb or what, can't she speak for herself?" The prince said as he sat down on the same seat he was sitting earlier on as though he could shoot daggers with his eyes.

My mind wrestled as I was instantly tongue-tied, his cold look added to my restlessness.

"You know what, just take this out, I don't need this again, I guess I need a new chef, a chef that won't prepare poison as a food" he said and left almost immediately.
