Inessa terribly flinched in her place and closed her eyes tightly whereas , in anticipation, covered her cheek with her palm and waited for his hand to get slammed against her.

But it never happened. Inessa didn't feel his palm slamming against her cheek ,which made her slowly open her eyes and her heart got painfully squeezed inside her chest by watching him halting his hand in the middle, which he had raised to slap her.

She trailed her eyes on him and a chill ran down her spine by witnessing his eyes which had turned venomously red, like he was terribly intoxicated but it wasn't his intoxication, it was his anger, rage, pain ,fear, because of the thing she had dared to say to him.
