ISABELLA POV

My heart raced as I threw the covers aside and ran out of the bedroom.

“Eva!” I called again, my voice sharp with panic.

The hallway was dark, quiet. Only the soft ticking of the wall clock filled the silence. I rushed down the stairs, my feet cold against the tiles, chest tight with fear.

Then I heard it.

A small laugh.

My head turned toward the sitting room.

And there she was.

Eva.

In Xavier’s arms.

He was sitting on the couch, holding her like a baby while she giggled and wriggled. Her bunny lay on the sofa beside them, half falling off.

Relief hit me so hard, my knees almost gave way.

“Oh, thank God,” I whispered, placing a hand on my chest.

Xavier looked up and smiled. “She had a nightmare,” he said gently. “She came to find me. Said the other Mama was looking at her.”

My breath caught for a second.

He looked down at Eva and brushed her curls. “I calmed her down. We’ve been sitting here for a while.”

I walked over slowly, kneeling beside the couch, my fingers reachin

  • ISABELLA (The Night that ruined me)   WHAT HIS HE PLANNING?

XAVIER’S POVShe was still asleep. Her breathing..soft, steady, innocent..was the only sound in the room. Her bare shoulder peeked through the tangled sheets, her lashes casting tiny shadows on her cheeks. Her chest rising and falling, Peaceful. Beautiful. Mine.I lay beside her, unmoving.I should’ve felt victorious.Last night… she gave herself to me. Finally. But victory tasted strange this morning. She had given me consent but her body looked distant. She hadn’t said she loved me.She hadn’t looked at me with the same fire she once gave him.Still, I reminded myself..progress is progress. And last night, she didn’t flinch. She didn’t pull away. She touched me… kissed me… let me in.That had to count for something.Right?I reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair from her face. She stirred a little but didn’t wake.I sighed and slipped out of bed quietly, padding across the room. I needed air. I needed to think. In the hallway, I passed Eva’s room. The door was cracked open

  • ISABELLA (The Night that ruined me)   I'M HIS WIFE NOW

ISABELLA’S POVAfter what happened at the dining room the other time, things haven’t quite been the same.Xavier apologized. He held my hands with a trembling softness I hadn’t seen in a long time. His voice low, heavy with guilt. I nodded to forgive him, but my mind... my heart... it stayed locked on what Macy said.Drake and Jasmine.Together.The thought alone makes me sick.I’ve played it in my head a hundred times since .. Jasmine's smirk on the screen, Drake’s silence over the issue, Macy’s bitter truth. It's a storm that refuses to pass, and I’ve been standing in the middle of it silent and haunted. My heart aches.Worse still, I can’t share how I feel with anyone. Not without judgment. Not without Camille’s eyes narrowing or Ma Hilda hissing behind closed doors. No one would understand. They would say I’m ungrateful. That I’m weak.Maybe I am.I’m in the bedroom now, lying still while Xavier holds me close. His arm is wrapped around my waist, his body warm against mine. I hear

  • ISABELLA (The Night that ruined me)   THE FOOTAGE

DRAKE’S POVI stared into her eyes, desperate. Searching for something..anything..that could give me hope. A flicker of reassurance. A sliver of truth. But Jasmine just stood there, smiling that weird, slow smile that made my chest burn with rage.“Stop playing with me,” I growled. Her eyes didn’t blink. That smile stayed plastered on her lips.Something in me snapped. Before I could think, my hand shot out and gripped her by the neck. She gasped, her eyes wide in shock as I tightened my hold. Her skin reddened. Her nails clawed lightly at my wrists. Tears pricked the corners of her eyes. And just like that…I snapped out of it.I jerked my hand away, stepping back in horror.“Damn it… Damn it!” I shouted, my voice ragged, echoing down the quiet street. I turned away from her, my hands yanking at my hair, trying to pull the fury out of my skull. Sweat beaded across my forehead. My heart was hammering against my ribs like a war drum.Behind me, I heard her coughing. Choking.Guilt slice

  • ISABELLA (The Night that ruined me)   JASMINE MILDRED

ISABELLA’S POVThe message lit up my screen just as I was about to step out of the room.Manager : "Check the news now. It’s about Jasmine. You need to see this."My stomach dropped.I quickly unlocked my phone and opened the news app. The headline slapped me across the face:"Supermodel Jasmine Mildred Opens Up About Isabella, Xavier... and Drake?"I clicked it, hands trembling. There she was, seated elegantly in a plush red chair, legs crossed, flashing that perfectly rehearsed smile. Her makeup was flawless. Her voice.. sweet. She looked like she hadn’t lost a single night of sleep while ruining lives. “I’m so happy for Isabella,” Jasmine said, laughing softly. “She’s always been a family-oriented woman. Her choice in marrying Xavier? Absolutely perfect. She’s just following her heart. I have a feeling she might even withdraw from modeling soon to focus on her husband and daughter. And honestly, what a beautiful family they make.”I froze. My heart twisted. My fingers trembled aro

  • ISABELLA (The Night that ruined me)   BACK TO THE GUSTAVO'S

ISABELLA’S POVI stood still, rooted to the spot, staring at the mansion before me.The Gustavo Mansion. Its towering white pillars and sprawling garden were still as grand and intimidating as I remembered. The walls hadn’t aged a day, pristine and cold, like they were untouched by the cruelty that once lived inside.A knot twisted in my stomach.I was back.Back to the place that had once broken me. This place was no home..it was a memory. A living, breathing memory of whispers in the hallway, sharp glares over breakfast, and the cruelty of two women who made it their mission to ruin me.Ma Hilda. Macy.I swallowed hard as their faces flashed behind my eyes. The way Macy used to sneer every time I passed, the way Ma Hilda would call me “that girl” instead of my name. How many times had I cried into Xavier’s pillow? How many times had I begged him to stand up for me..only to be met with silence? The wind brushed against my skin gently. I didn’t even realize my shoulders were tense unt

  • ISABELLA (The Night that ruined me)   SEX WITH HER

DRAKE’S POVIt had been a week.Seven damn days since everything shattered.I sat in the dimly lit living room, the television screen casting flickers of light across my face. My hand gripped a half-full wine glass like it was the last thing tethering me to this world. I didn’t even taste the wine anymore. I just held it..tight..because if I let go, I’d break.Tears slipped down my cheeks, silent and burning. My chest tightened with every breath I dragged in, shallow and uneven. My hands shaking. Then I saw it.Her.Isabella.There she stood on the screen, flawless in an elegant cream dress, her curls pinned back in soft waves that framed her delicate face. And beside her was him. Xavier Gustavo. Hand placed on the small of her back like he owned her. Like she belonged to him.My jaw clenched as I leaned forward, my gaze locked on the television. The press swarmed them, shoving microphones in their faces like bloodthirsty hounds. Then Isabella spoke, her voice soft, calm, sure.“We’re
