~Hayden's POV~

I flinch when Nia grabs my hand. “I can't believe I won the auction. We are going to have so much fun!!”

I ignore her, peering around the arena. No sigh of Dakota.

Shit.

She's probably pissed as hell now. But this isn't my fault. I never thought Nia would win the auction.

I try to calculate my options now: I could decline the date but that would be a PR disaster. The Auction was for a good cause and if I decline, it could be spun around to imply I didn't care for the cause.

She isn't returning my texts!” Heather chuckles, looking past me at Nia who is still hovering behind me. “Seriously, Hayden, you're taking HER on a date and yet you're wondering why Dakota isn't returning your texts?”

    ~Dakota's POV~ The arena is buzzing with excited students all dressed in pink. Giant “PINK THE RINK” banners hang from the ceiling. Heather holds onto my arm as we meander our way through the sea of pink till we reach the center of the arena where we can see China, Head of the Alpha Chi sorority, laughing with Alex flirtatiously. “Where's my pigheaded brother? I know he's not skipping this!” Heather asks, turning her head around to search for her brother. I spot Hayden first. He's standing behind a long table filled with hockey memorabilia that the team is selling off to raise funds for the charity. His table is the most popular surrounded by Loud giggling puck bunnies flirting with him. When one of them grabs hold of his shirt, my heart flares with unspeakable jealousy. I had to stop myself from marching over there to pull him away and scream at them. Wait a second, what am I doing? Why do I care if girls flirt with him? Hell, he can kiss them for all I care.
